We went to this restaurant tonight and had a delicious meal and great service. Our server, Omar, was outstanding. He was attentive without hovering. The seafood we had was some of the best we have had in Florida and it was well presented. We would highly recommend this place for an exceptional night out with really good food. By the way the view out to the water was great as well.

We held our wedding reception here. The food was raved about from all our guests and the service was beyond exceotional! They were creative with our lobster mac & cheese live station and another live station with tenderloin that you could cut with a fork. All details were covered to a 'T' by their banquet manager - and the staff treated our family and friends like royalty. The Captains Table truly gave us a fairytale wedding!!! I cannot recommend them enough if you have an event that you want run perfectly!
Best food in Florida !!! The sea bass is to die for. Presentation and atmosphere is absolutely fantastic with the staff being diligent and effective. Truly a wonderful dining experience.

Highs and lows. Service was pretty good. Salad bar was nice, especially the freshly made Caesar salad and the seafood pasta salad. My stuffed grouper was o.k., but was not hot and yet seemed a bit overdone. The accompanying mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus were quite good. The sauce over the grouper had a good flavor. As I said -- highs and lows.
Wonderful meal and view!. Went for 1 PM lunch Friday after x-mas (wed) - we were seated right away, great table with view, fabulous Bloody Mary, wonderful nice large size calamari appetizer was enough for a meal (asked for the special sauce on the side), blackened salmon salad was terrific, shrimp poorboy very good. 4 of us were very satisfied. Price for two meals including drinks $44.00
You shoulda been there when.... This place used to be so good throughout the 90s and early 2000s. It was where you'd go when you wanted classy food and didn't want to bother with the French restaurant in Port Charlotte. I ate there many times with my ex-wife, who was a vegetarian, but she enjoyed the salad bar. My current wife and I liked ithe Captain's Table so much that we had our wedding dinner there in 2002 after getting hitched on an excursion boat in Charlotte Harbor. The restaurant was an excellent host. However, other places in P.G./P.C. have "upped their game" as they used to say in Australia, and it sounds like the Captain's Table has not. However good a place once was, it cannot rest on its laurels forever.
All around wonderful dining experience. The food was tasty and both my guest and I were pleased with our selections. We both had the rum glazed shrimp and the berry cake dessert, and we walked away satisfied and happy. Our server was Melanie and she was very attentive and helpful. I was in town visiting and I hope one day I can come back.
We planned to travel to Punta Gorda a week ago and booked a table where we could watch the sunset and have dinner.
🌆There are not many people in the restaurant during dinner time, and the outdoor tables don't seem to be open. The waiter Air is very friendly and helps us take pictures outside.
The grouper and sauce were fantastic. I want to give up the lobster 🦞 and the stuffed crab that doesn't taste like crab. 🦀️I'm very hungry, I need to order something else, the waiter said the restaurant closes at 8pm.
Excellent food, views and service!! Grouper plate was excellent. Blueberry mule was perfectly Blueberry and ginger. Florida orange cheesecake was yummy. Pork chop with mac and cheese was the perfect combo. Great dinner overall
We really enjoyed our night out. Our server was wonderful. Very knowledgeable of the menu. She was young and you would of thought she was doing this a long time. All our food was delicious. I had the bourbon Salman and sure glad I couldn't finish it because it was wonderful the next Day as well. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed our meals along with the sunset!
Lovely views, fantastic service and decent, but not amazing food. Prices are comparable to other restaurants in the area. We tried the lobster grilled cheese and parmesan crusted grouper. The lobster was claw meat only and I felt like it wasn't all lobster... that they may have added some fake crab(I could be wrong). Grouper was all right, and the vegetables and pilaf were pretty basic fare, but tasty enough. Nothing gourmet here... you come for the view I think.
I wish I could give this 5 stars. We walked in and there was a host, Kamar, and a hostess, Nora. We had reservations and Kamar was ready to sit us. He was very polite and professional. Nora came in a stopped the whole thing. Very rude and unprofessional. Told us were not ready to seat you even though it was 6/1/23 at 6pm and the place was empty. We went to go wait outside downstairs. About 20 minutes later a waitress named Cindy comes to the rescue and tells us to get back inside.
Kamar and Cindy took us to our table. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Very professional. I will definitely come back and try again. Definitely recommend this place to anyone. I don't want one unhappy person to ruin the whole experience. Nora comes back at the end and asked how our dinner was and she was happy to see us. Yeah okay.
Stopped here for lunch after walking around the park nearby. Jenna or server who works behind the bar, it's near the counter seating with a view of Punta Gorda harbor. You place your order at the bar and the server will bring it to you. We had the coconut shrimp and blackened Mahi tacos. The food was delicious and the wait time was minimal. If we are in the area again we will return!

I was initially drawn here just because of the name, but then I saw the Captain's Chowder on the menu and had to have it. It didn't disappoint! I was too full from that to order more, but lots to try next time!!!

Update: came back with my wife the next afternoon, got more of that fantastic Captain's Chowder, and tried the crab cake. All was excellent! I could eat that chowder every day for the rest of my days!!!! Yum!!
Cindy, our server, was very friendly, cheerful, and prompt. Black Pearl drinks were wonderful and dinner delicious. The host was very courteous and helpful also. Thank you for a lovely dining experience ❤️🎄
Excellent restaurant! Food, service, atmosphere and great company made for a perfect experience. Everything was cooked to perfection, and we all raved about our choices. You can't go wrong here!
