Chennai Chimney

I ordered food from them through Uber eats One of the item I had ordered was Madurai Muttai dosa, while eating found a solid plastic total waste of money and appetite. Food safety and quality should be the priority! And this restaurant has taken it for granted in my case. Since it was an online order I didn’t have patience to call or fight over this but I have made sure to review this where ever I can for other customers knowledge and awareness. Plastic in food is highly unacceptable! If a child was eating they could have choked on it! I had also ordered idli vada but only received vada they changed the order and did not even inform me. The biryani i ordered looks unnaturally orange. I will 200% avoid ordering from here ever again.

The food here is delicious, beautifully balanced and subtle flavors. I ordered the Navarantan Korma, and the Tomato Shorba. The service was friendly and very respectful, I received my meal in good time. I would definitely recommend trying Chennai Chimney if you’re looking for great Indian Food in Princeton. The restaurant has a peaceful atmosphere great for conversation.

Even with a reservation, it took 30 minutes for us to be seated, and another 30 for someone to take our order. The food finally arrived, 90 minutes after our reservation time. This was on a Saturday night, but the wait time was ridiculous. We really only had an hour to eat before they abruptly turned up the lights at 10:00 to let us know it was time for us to leave. They were out of pakodas and dosa, so we ordered samosas, which were frozen in the middle. The other parties were so loud that we couldn't hear each other or the servers, and the family next to us was served before us even though we placed our order before they did. I've had better experiences at this place in the past, but even without the wait time issues, the staff have always been pushy and unfriendly. Much better service at other similar establishments in town.

we had reservations and when we arrived, there was no one around to take us in. i knocked on the kitchen door (there were people in there), but they did not come out. so i stood there at the register and tried calling 3 times- no one picked up the phone. so strange. 20 minutes later, we just left. ( starving )
