I've eaten here a couple times and it honestly seems pretty average. The building is older, but the restaurant was clean and well kept. The service was great, very friendly. The food was average for a hometown diner, I would definitely go back - even wager it's the only cafe-style restaurant in Powell worth eating at.

My husband and two kids have always gone to have breakfast and the customer service has always been an issue, but we continued to give them a chance. However, this morning I was taken by surprised because I was yelled at in front of the packed restaurant because I had asked my 6 year old daughter if we were sitting in the back and then when she nodded I answered her. I was absolutely embarrassed, had no idea what I had done to deserve that and my 6 six year thought she had done something wrong. My husband was very vocal about being upset with the disrespect and we left the restaurant. I will miss going for breakfast but I don't treat people that way and don't deserve that treatment either

Meh.
Been eating here off and on each summer for the past several years and it's been consistently meh and seemingly getting worse in service and quality.
They are pretty much the only breakfast place in town which is why I had not previously banned them. I'll not be back here.
Today the restaurant was near empty and the place was just kinda disheveled.
The server seemed miserable, unfriendly and barely interested in taking our order.
She brought our foods of mediocrity and wasn't seen again.
This place has just gone to the dumps.

Where do I begin. I think the proper place to begin is that my party and I waited 45 minutes before our order was taken. After that we received a meal that would best be described as sub par. Maybe even below average. Downright flavorless may be the most fitting. Our food was delivered to us by a waitress who couldn’t be bothered to end her phone call before interacting with us. To rate the meal itself probably a 3/10. It did fill a hole and aid in the classic Saturday morning recovery however that is where it’s benefits ended. The chicken fried steak was soggy and over done not to mention it had no flavor. The French fries were also somehow soggy while tasting burnt? The butter on the toast was obviously some sort of liquid concoction not meant for human consumption that set up as soon as it was set on our table. The hash browns were 0% crispy. Like a mix of mashed potatoes and hash browns? The fried eggs were fine however the scrambled eggs were well below hotel eggs in terms of quality and flavor. Chilly and rubbery. Ah and to top off our experience the woman checking us out was somewhat rude and was being unkind to the nice man who poured our coffee. Not a good look considering he was the best employee there(none of this is about you my guy you were awesome) The menu was in descriptive and didn’t provide enough information on what was given with your meal. A terrible meal served in an unprofessional environment. Service 2/10, food 3/10. The expectation wasn’t to be waited on hand and foot but some basic decency and prompt service would’ve been sufficient. It’s a solid half star restaurant. The owners should take note of the other poor reviews and make some improvements that would increase the 3.8 stars they have on google. Some of the reviews are so bad they’re comedic. Taking some ownership in the constructive criticism provided may be of long term benefit to this establishment. Don’t own a restaurant if you can’t be kind, aren't good at cooking, and aren’t amicable. The only reason they are still in business is because their regulars are dedicated and ancient and cannot taste the food.
Most google reviews are responded with “if only you had asked” as if it was the customers problem. Many of the reviews have stated that when they did ask they were met with irritation as if the CUSTOMER WHO IS BUYING THEIR FOOD was an inconvenience? Absolute nonsense, tomfoolery in the finest. Silliness ludicrous and crazypants. If our review hasn’t convinced you not to eat there then you are beyond professional help.

The wait staff were having difference among them selves they always seem to be short staff. My forth time in the diner only once did I have an average meal. It takes a long time to get your meal. Staff is not happy..if you have a complaint they will not make it right. The sad part it's one of the only places to eat breakfast .The worst place in Powell to me..I would give it no stars. When I waited tables it's important to make the customer happy I liked my job..

Sandwich was good and so we're the onion rings, owner claimed me of racist preference because I said gracias, im a high schooler here on a trip for a choir event, interesting first impression, just make sure not to say thank you in Spanish and they won't think you're racist mi hombres!

We love going here. The meals are all fresh and homemade and don’t cost an arm & a leg. Lydia is always so friendly and makes the whole experience wonderful. It’s such a quiet & calm old school atmosphere. Family owned and ran & I've got to say... each time I eat here- I’m not disappointed. And if I was- I know that they would fix it right away!
