Food was excellent! Service was pretty slow and somewhat absent. But the food totally made up for the experience. Clam chowder was outstanding as well as the halibut fish and chips.
Food was decent. However it really left my husband and my stomach upset. The alcohol list was not very extensive. Price too high for the value of the food. But the service was really nice. Wouldn't go back.
It had been years since any of us went to JJs Fish House, so the five of us went. One had the Fried Calamari appetizer, another had the Oriental Chicken Salad and three of us had 2 piece Cod Fish and Chips. We were all very happy with our food and the service. We need to eat here more often.
Melt-in-your-mouth fish and chips. We just had the most awesome fish and chips! Melt-in-your-mouth lightly-battered halibut and slightly crispy fries served alongside a delicious citrus salad (we're going to try to make this when we get back to L.A!). I dined here with my husband and some friends and we all had a great experience. Customer service was outstanding- hard to come by these days! Try the fish and chips and clam chowder...delicious!
A very nice place to visit, the food was very good with great servings size.
Nice place, good open-air atmosphere. I had the halibut and chips, and the portion was generous. The breading was light and crispy, but the fish itself may have been too large, as the bulk was a bit of a chore to get through. The chips were perfect, though, and the menu is varied enough to give you a reason to go back again.

Compare it to anywhere. We've been to J J's twice now, from the S.F. area. Yes, J.J's is a cafe atmosphere, and may not be the tourist "night out." But you can stack the flavors in the cioppino up with the best: fresh varied fish and shellfish in a soup stock with shredded tomato, smoked paprika, a mild oregano--really a feast. The crab cakes as well were fresh, and beautifully prepared. Wine choices were selected for simplicity and fruit (above complexity), and were very affordably priced. Service was friendly on both of our visits.
Very nice experience. Wait staff is very responsive. Food was delicious. Clam chowder was very tasty but wish it wash in a bowl instead of a mug. Had fish and chips. Nice flakey cod and crispy fries. Great IPA on tap. Had a very nice lunch for 6 people.
Great service and very clean restaurant. The food was good, but not out of this world. A good family restaurant to stop at that's reasonably priced.
After having a bad experience at a different restaurant with tough fish and old chips, I was nervous about going to another casual fish restaurant. I relayed my experience to my waitress, and she recommended the crab cake burger. Oh baby, I am not a huge crab cakes fan, but these were GOOD. And the local craft beer that I got to go with the lunch was superb.
Dined in on Viking fest weekend. Had the Cod fish-and-chips And they were great. The freshly brewed iced tea was amazing. The restaurant layout is super interesting with garage doors that open to a dine-out patio. They provide bowls of water for dogs along with a small menu for dogs, Which the dog seemed very happy with their food.
Their clam chowder is delicious and fresh I highly recommend it , wonderful service, and the cod is fried nicely just needed a bit of salt. We mentioned that we would be splitting our entree and the wait staff delivered our portions split on different plates and brought us extra coleslaw. This place is wonderful, the food is great, and the people are incredibly friendly and nice.
Food was ok, fish and chips was missing salt and some seasoning, but it was cooked perfectly. The pasta on the other hand was really well done, good smokey taste and good seasoning. The service was also very good, attention and care was well balanced
I ordered a blonde ale, mug of clam chowder (they put bacon in it!!), a rock shrimp flatbread pizza, and calamari. I. Am. Stuffed. I arrived just after 4pm and they were getting crowded. By 6, there was a line forming outside. My advice is to get in there early! 😁
