Tasty creamy gelato. Wonderful selection of flavors. Would recommend their Affagato

Gorgeous Gelato is your one stop shop for amazing gelato in Portland, Maine. They only have this location but I also found out that they have a trailer near Portland Head Lights that also sells their Gelato as well. Their main shop is small but cute with some indoor and outdoor seating. Service is counter service and was awesome because they let us try samples of their Gelato! Most all ice cream places have been refusing samples because of Covid but not here! The gelato was heavenly and so smooth and creamy. We felt as though we could eat it all day, every day haha. There are plenty of ice cream shops in Portland but not many gelato shops and from the many we've tried, this might just be our favorite. Try them out!
My wife and I got a large waffle cone with two different scoops. My cone had Panna Cotta Caramel and Bacio. Man, were these good! The Panna Cotta Caramel was SO smooth (all of them were but this one especially). The rich, creamy flavor was so unique and delightful and with the right amount of caramel swirl too. Each flavor complemented the other and it was just too good. The Bacio is a chocolate hazelnut gelato, which some people might compare to Nutella but tastes way better. The chocolate is more of a darker chocolate than a milk chocolate base and there are small bits of hazelnut pieces mixed in. I'm not sure if they also use hazelnut butter or something in the base as well but it was also a delicious gelato.
My wife had Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate and Boston Creme. The Boston cream was just like eating a Boston Cream Pie and the Sea Salt Caramel was rich with lots of caramel and little mini chocolate chips throughout. I don't have much to say about hers as I only tried a bite or two of each flavor but I can say that I loved each flavor and everything that we had from Gorgeous Gelato!
On a side note, my wife and I wanted to eat outside and it had just rained and there was water all over the tables. The owner saw that we were looking to sit outside and came running out with a towel to clean the tables for us so we could sit without getting our pants wet. That was very nice of them especially since we didn't have to ask. That's customer service.
This place also serves cannolis, pints to go, whoopie pies, cakes, cookies, ice cream cannolis and more! With how amazing the gelato was I can only imagine how awesome everything else was. I might just have to order these online to be shipped to my home...

Reasonable prices, good flavors, and taste. Friendly and courteous staff. Ambient atmosphere. The gorgeous flavor is delicious.

The ice cream here is so scrumptious delicious! Creamy and flavorful, just like I used to get it growing up in Europe. The best of all is that I can get the real pistachio, hazelnut or mango, that typical US ice cream makers tend to ignore or fail to produce.

Looking for a sweet treat after a nearby meal and this place had the perfect solution. Sadly it was so tasty I ate it before I took a picture but trust me if you like an exceptionally good cannoli, check this place out.

The flavors were so good! They do free samples! And we ended up picking the ones we really like!

Best gelato shop on the East Coast!
I've had many gelato experiences, and this is the very best on the East Coast, so far. Smooth as silk, rich flavors, creamy texture and good portions. Don't miss it!

Really frustrated and bummed about my experience here tonight. Walked in to order while one customer was heading to the register to pay and another customer was starting their large order of 4 multi-flavor cups. I was the third of only three customers in the entire place. Two young men were working, one checked the woman out while the other waited on the large order. I stood patiently, behind the man ordering, in between the ice cream window and the pastry window. The man with the large order had broken English and the employee helping him was visibly annoyed, asking him multiple times to repeat himself with large eyes and a disgruntled look. It didn’t sit well with me, but he did later thank the man for repeating himself and cited the freezer noise as reasoning. While waiting my turn, a large group of 6 or 8 people entered and stood next to, but not behind me, between the ice cream counter and the door. It is a very small space, and I was the only person waiting before they entered. I was sure both of the employees saw me as I had been waiting ~5-10 minutes, was the next to order, and had made eye contact with both. Nevertheless, I was never acknowledged. When the employee checking out the woman returned to the counter, I stepped forward to order but he looked directly to the first person in the large group and took her order. I didn’t correct him, which is my own fault, but I thought it would just be a minute longer while the other employee cashed out the man with the large order. To my shock and dismay, when he walked back toward the counter, he completely ignored me and helped the next person in the large group. I was so frustrated, I walked straight out the door. Poor customer service and overall bad experience.
