Glisan Street Pub

A dear friend and I both needed someplace tonight that was casual, relaxed, fun, and new. We found it here, and Heather our bartender / server, was the most amazing part of the entire evening. I am leaving Portland to move to Houston in 2 weeks and I can't think of a better place to start my Portland Love Fest with friends than here, tonight. I can't wait to come back in a couple of months on a weekend trip to see all the changes that are taking place. Kudos for an amazing recipe for a perfect neighborhood Hangout.

I've only been in this place a few times, but had a good experience there. But know that despite having a sign that says "Montavilla Social Club", this is not an actual social club, but rather, a pub. I haven't had their food, so I can't report on that, but this is a good place to relax. They don't have a huge selection of beers, but what they do have is good. The lighting is intentionally dim - a bit on the dark side - which allows your eyes to relax, and in general, makes for an extremely relaxing atmosphere. Staff are friendly, laid back, and very helpful. It's by no means a redneck bar, so if you don't like redneck bars, you won't find any bigoted rednecks in here. All in all, it's a great little pub. I look forward to trying their food next time.

Montavilla Social Club (Saloon?) has transformed, and it really has my attention. I've lived in the neighborhood for years but every time I stopped by, it was often dead. Now, this place is getting poplar. Finally some new faces! Great staff, warm environment, and nice pours. Special shout out to Chip and Evan, thanks for being great.

Knowledgeable bartenders. If you like Mo Mo's downtown this will feel familiar but it's on Glisan close to 82nd so the scene reflects that. Decent bar fare on the simple side. Good IPA selection, good shelf of liquor great standby whiskeys. Pinball, pool, outside seating, the occasional event and clean bathrooms.
