Rice & Spice Teriyaki

I agree with the consensus that they make the best teriyaki chicken in town and the portions/value are truly amazing in today's world. The downside is that they changed my favorite dish. I always (for years) order chicken and vegies with extra vegies which used to mean lots of broccoli, and a few carrots. Now it's a pile of cabbage, some grated carrots, no broccoli. I like cabbage, probably more than the average person, but not half a head in a teriyaki dish! It changes the texture of the whole thing. Last time I thought maybe the regular guys were on vacation, but it's the same tonight. My attempt at DIY teriyaki broccoli can't compete. WHY? I need a bring back the broccoli campaign BBTB!!

every time i come here, they severely undercharge me for the quality and amount of food they serve me!! $17.50 for a jumbo tofu veggie teppanyaki and 4 spring rolls (see photo). i’m always craving the jumbo tofu teppanyaki and veggie rolls, and the prices are so good for the amount of food you get. the veggie roll sauce is a little strange, but not bad at all! and the rolls are so crispy and perfect, they don’t even need sauce. i also work at Providence Portland so this place is right down the street, very convenient. i love this place so much!!!!

First time trying Rice and Spice, it was pretty good. The teriyaki chicken was tender and flavorful. Also had a veggie roll that was ok. There was a steady stream of folks in and out picking up and placing a lot of to go orders. Some of them regulars as the owner knew some of their names. Popular place! You can get chicken dishes under $10 dollars here, the jumbo orders approach $15. The inside is very bare bones and utilitarian; nothing fancy here. Limited number of tables as it’s quite small. I would go back when wanting something quick and cheap.

This is THE SPOT if you want delicious, filling food with a good portion at a good price. The chicken katsu is sooooooo good! I keep coming back because of that, but the service is also quick, super friendly, and in general just top notch. I absolutely love this place, I always feel full and happy after I go here, so I'll be back hahaha. I've eaten here at least 3 times, whereas usually I'll seek different restaurants because I like eating at different places. Rice & Spice rocks, don't expect fancy.
