I read a list of great dive bars in all 50 states and this happens to be the best dive in Maine. This place doesn't disappoint! $2 Pabst Blue Ribbon, you kidding me?! It's a funky joint with all kinds of history. Just walking in you're greeted with the warm glow of neon and friendly locals. It's like stepping into a time machine and being transported to year's of yonder. Of all the changes to the Portland night life, it's great to see a place like this hasn't changed through the years.

Businesses come and go but no matter what you know Mathew's Pub, Portland's oldest pub, will always be there. They don't care who you are, where you've been, what you wear or who you're friends with no matter what you can head on in for a drink. If you're lucky you'll go in the summer and catch a live band on the patio which you'll hear before you see and it'll carry you in with a view of the ocean if you haven't been yet then you need to go in as soon as you can
