I’ve been here 6 times now in the past month! Their Kimchee Jigae is my Go-To item and definitely does not disappoint! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Korean food!
I've eaten here many times. I've thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried. Thank you for having affordable and delicious food in the neighborhood!
I recently ordered takeout from Chungdam Korean Fusion. The Tteokbokki was an absolute delight—perfectly spiced and bursting with flavor. The Dwaeji Bulgogi was equally impressive with its fantastic level of spiciness. I thoroughly enjoyed both dishes, but I must note that they carry a significant amount of heat. If you're not a fan of spicy food, these might not be the best choices for you.
One of Portlands best cozy comfort Korean food. The cheese buldak is a must try with their Sundubu-jjigae! Some other food items are huge so it’s great so share with everyone. Definitely a family friendly restaurant with nice staffs and great atmosphere.
The spicy seafood soon dubu was delicious! I usually eat half the mandu and save the rice to make fried rice the next day. K-pop was playing in the flat-screen and the staff was nice. I'll definitely be back.
Extremely tasty, friendly staff, plenty of parking.
Some musts are the seafood pancake, Mandu dukguk, La gabi, and the classic bulgogi. Great for family style.
This place is amazing for group meals. They have hot pot meals that are for at least 3 people, and are a little spicy for me personally, but my friends love it. My favorite dish here is the dolsot bibimbap. It's a generous portion of food, fills me up every time. We also ordered the cheesy buldak (spicy chicken), also delicious.
The service was exceptional! The food delicious!
We ordered both Korean and Japanese dishes and they did mot disappoint.
What an asset to have such an amazing customer friendly waiter. Male waiter is super welcoming and nice. My autistic kid was little loud but waiter put Disney show on for him. Waiter is compassionate and caring. Food was very delicious. We ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, calamari and everything was awesome. We will come back here again because of nice waiter.
Luncheon with the family on a gray and dreary Saturday afternoon. What could lighten the drab colored day but some spice of life Korean goodness in your tummy. The place was hoppin this day we went. Had a bit of a wait at the door till we were seated by this very busy but polite server. We could see she was super busy so we knew we'd be in for a bit of wait ordering, getting our food, and checking out. We started out with a Pa Jeon (scallion pancake w/dipping sauce) perfectly crisp and fluffy pancake interspersed with bits of onion and green onion.Mom who's always a light eater opted for an item from their appetizer menu by getting the Japchae noodles with beef(sweet potato clear noodles stir-fried with veggies in a garlic, sesame sauce). This was still more than enough for her to take a good portion home. Dad ordered a lunch combo for $16.99 he got to choose one soup/select entree option. He got the Soondubu Jigae(spicy tofu soup with bits of kimchi and beef+beef bulgogi), my daughter and I shared the Budae Jigae(hot pot for 2-3) it was jam packed umami flavored spicy broth with all of the following crammed into one pot of goodness (tofu, spam, sausage, bacon, kim chi, beef slices, rice cakes, then topped off with some ramen and couple slices of good ol American Cheese). While the pot of tasty broth bubbles away on the table the ramen starts to soften it begins to then melt the cheese slices on the noodles making this creamy delectable soup). All the lunch orders came with bowls of steaming hot white rice and a few different banchans (assorted pickled veggies, kim chi and a bit of mac salad). All in all, this would've been a 5 star experience had the poor sole server had some help I'm sure then we would've been able to get a few more table check ins. This I can totally forgive and understand as most restaurants are struggling to fill or keep workers during these times. However, this will not keep me from coming back again. As the food is just to good to deprive my tastebuds of not returning.
So I'm a bit torn between 4 and 5 stars.
Customer service was great - very friendly and really sweet lady. She made our first time here so. It felt like I was a guest at someone's home because of the warm and positive ambiance.
We ordered the beef tofu soup and it was actually bigger than expected! It came with a rice bowl for each of us (there's a total of 3) and we all enjoyed the spiciness and the flavor of the soup. Wow. I'll be coming here for the soup during the cold weather.
Then we had the steam dumplings (was pretty good with the sauce added but nothing special).
Also ordered the Japchae, bulgogi and galbi. Bugolgi was a bit too sweet for me but it was still good. Galbi was my favorite. The charred taste to it definitely added so much flavor. Japchae was in large portions for all of us to chair. Between the 3 of us, it was more than enough and we left full and satisfied.
Also ordered 2 bottles of soju - Citron and Peach. They're both a bit too sweet for me and it wasn't as strong as I am use to. However that's no fault of the restaurant. It's just this specific brand. My boyfriend like the Citron one and my friend liked the peach.
Overall we enjoy this place. Ample parking in the parking lot because I have anxiety every time I go somewhere during peak hour in Portland and I'm unsure about the parking situation.
Felt there were missing some other key items for side dishes that I generally see at other Korean restaurants (mashed potatoes, fish cakes, etc..). The japchae and bulgogi was good but on the sweeter side than I am use to. This is just my personal preference as my bf and friend loved this placec.
We all enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I would come here again.
Very cozy Korean restaurant and the food is great. Service is great even if they are short staffed.
