It's a HARD YES for me. We came during a slow time, and I'm glad we did. The server took the time to walk us through the menu and help us pick out items. There was such a variety of flavors. Every bite was followed by a "hell yeah" or a "damn that's good. I can't wait to come back.

The best Indian food in Portland (and I eat Indian a lot and super picky). I ordered the three vegetarian dishes & I had to pause eating to give a review I was so impressed. The flavor of each is so intricate (they use lots of rich fresh spices and you can tell). Got the collards, the eggplant, and the spinach one on the main veggie menu....Im coming back weekly for these (I got mine to go so don't pay attention to ambiance of my pic)

Very nice little spot. Food was delicious and came out quickly. Cocktails were yummy (tamarind margarita and Bhuna Mule). Food was flavorful and spicy (but not overboard). Staff was super friendly and very helpful. Will come back again when we are in this part of town.

This is one of our favorite places! The food and cocktails are delicious, with just the right amount of spice and a whole lot of flavor! The service is awesome, so what’s not to love!

Terrific! We ordered the Thali for 2 even though there were three of us. It was plenty and a great way to sample this deliciously flavored food. We also ordered the chickpea battered calamari and the fried potatoes (both with yummy sauces). I found the food to be a notch above the “typical” Indian fare. Go support this place!

This is a very good Indian restaurant to eat . It is kashmiri style food , very authentic and different than typical india restaurant food in the US. I ordered thali for two, and every item in thali was unique and reminded me of some flavors back in Delhi/India, I used to taste . I will recommend ordering thali if you want to experience a variety of dishes with one order . Service and ambiance were excellent, too.

We went on a Sunday evening and wanted to try their food. We ordered some tea for drinky, lamb boti kebab, chicken chettinad and lamb Rogan josh with some naans. We thoroughly enjoyed the food but we were a bit unsatisfied by the quantity of food served and hence had to order more. Other than that, we liked our food.

First off, I put 3 stars for atmosphere because it is casual and kind of plain. At night, when the bar is in action, it's more cool and modern, plus there are nice decorations from the owner's home country around. Both times I was there I loved the chill playlist. But... the real deal about here is the food. GO NOW! My partner and I stumbled on this place just reading the menu in the window. We are vegetarian and wondered if the small menu would be expansive enough. I think they have a smallish menu so they can do the dishes they do perfectly. Each thing we had was spiced perfectly and individually and nothing tasted like anything else. What was supposed to be crispy was crispy, the vegetables were not broken down and soupy, the sauces weren't gloppy gravies... the cooking was top-tier. We got "special" sides and I wish they were all constant menu items. The green beans were roasted and slightly charred, tossed with ginger slivers and toasted garlic and chili flakes and garnished with cilantro and radish. That's a lot of effort for one dish! The palak paneer was in a light refreshing sauce and the spinach was firm, and the cheese was fried perfectly. The rice that came with it was lemony, and the raita tasted cool and fresh. The dressing for the salad was a standout, with mustard and tiny red onion dice and citrus... I would go back for the salad alone.... I thought it would be "fine, a salad" and it was an exciting dish. The best thing we had was collards with kohlrabi (kind of like turnip) in a deep-tasting smoky spicy sauce that was light, not stewy. The greens were tender and not cooked to death. And guess what? It is CHEAP for what it is. Really reasonable for such elevated dishes. They also have a good cocktail list. Don't be afraid of the unfamiliarity of the menu. I swear to you this will become a place you return again and again and will rave to your friends about. I wish it would move to NYC where I live. I will dream about this place

I'm new to the neighborhood, and Bhuna Indian Soul Food is across the street. I first visited on a Sunday for brunch and the Lamb Rogan Josh bowl was one of the most memorable Indian meals I've ever had. Personally served by owner and food magician chef Deepak Kaul. This week I took my wife for lunch and we enjoyed in addition to the Rogan Josh, the vegetarian option Kholrabi and collard greens. This dish put the soul in the food, and was incredibly delicious and nurturing. If you get a chance to dine in, do so, just so you can experience the wood fired naan. My wife is Southern Italian, and this naan reminded us both of the subtle smoky quality of the best pizzaiolo (the pizza chef). Unlike many Indian food experiences I've had, Deepak's vision and execution creates flavor combinations that are bold, distinct and yet leave you feeling fed, full, but not stuffed. If you haven't tried Bhuna, you're missing out. Next time in, I'll take some photos, but can you really taste a photo?

Enjoyed the food! However, it is definitely more on the spicy side. It not the traditional taste you get at a buffet, but definitely worth trying!
