This place is OLD SCHOOL Portland in all the right ways. From the ancient cash register to hand written tickets to classic (and delicious) pub fare to stiff drinks, it's definitely worth checking out. The vibe is relaxed, divey and intimate. GO Here!

VERY VERY GOOD FOOD!. I went in to pick up food and sat at the bar for a beer while I was waiting. Salad was very fresh, veggie burger(cooked well done) was amazing! It's really cool that you can order any of their burgers and substitute a veggie patty! Fries were good as well, but they are fresh cut so don't expect them to be crispy! It's very dark inside and is very much a local pub type place, but nice and cozy
The food was quite good and the service excellent. An old fashioned menu with what I think of as comfort food. A bit dark inside but it was cold the day I was there but the booth was not chilly. Thumbs up
Check out the Virginia Cafe. When you are IN downtown Portland looking for a great happy hour, I would definitely recommend the Virginia Cafe. Try their chili, it's one of the better I have found in town. I also recommend if you need a nice place to meet a friend, sit in a booth and chat.
I just love this cafe. Vibe, cute booths, awesome burgers, friendly staff & super location. A regular visit a must with some room in your tummy to savor the delicious burgers. I'm a fan of the chicken burger, oh yeah, yum yum yum!

Virginia Cafe Is A Great Restaurant in Downtown Portland. Virginia Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Portland Oregon. Not only is the atmosphere very cozy, woody and a bit dark, but the food is very good at a great price. It is also a great place to get a drink, sit and talk with your friends, watch a Timber's game or stop in before or after a show at the Arlene Shnitzer Concert Hall. Definately one of the best restaurants or bars in downtown Portland.
One of the best places in downtown portland. I'm there all the time, great bar, EXCELLENT food and service. Great prices for what you get. Non smoking so perfect for familes before 4:00pm. Reccommended to everyone
Found this place by chance! Was searching for a casual place to grab drinks and something to eat between 6 & 7 pm downtown as I made my way up to the tattoo studio on W 11th when a woman sitting on the picnic table out front asked if I had a light. So thankful for her stopping me and telling me about the food inside!
Thought I was going to find a dive bar but instead I found a beautiful old bar of wood with wonderful food, drinks and people inside and outside! What a wonderful surprise!
This place has been around for a while now. We stopped by for just a quick drink or two to help with our thirst. We were pretty much the only ones here and sat at the bar. The place is smaller and has video lottery. The bartender was nice and quick with our drinks. Overall, it was a good experience.
The server was very nice and the food came out quick. I got a BLT with beer battered onion rings, and I absolutely loved it.

Cool historic restaurant and bar, and a great spot for a quick lunch. The reuben was excellent -- in fact, the best I've had in the Northwest. Prices were also quite reasonable. I would definitely come back here -- highly recommended.

I only had the vegetarian burger once. It was good and flavorable. The women bartenders make the best drink. I meet up with a few of my friends weekly. We just talk smack, laugh, chill and enjoy our drinks. Atmosphere is great and real chill.
