I visited Commissary Cafe in summers and they were not open for dine in due to COVID-19 precautions. They had a couple of tables as outdoor seating. I ordered biscuit breakfast sandwich with greens and iced mocha. Mocha had just the right proportions of coffee and cocoa. And the egg sandwich was yumm- fluffy eggs and lots of greens.

What a gem of spot. First off the coffee, biscuits, and pastries are so, so good. The GF biscuits are excellent. What really stands out is Commissary's service. We ordered a pecan pie, cranberry sauce, and rolls for Thanksgiving. When I arrived they were out of rolls and the next batch wasn't quite ready yet, and I was unable to make it back on Thanksgiving day. So they hand delivered our rolls that evening; to the Eastside! And gave me extra rolls and a cookie. The kindest gesture during their busiest season. Needless to say we big fans.

Adorable little spot! The lavender oat milk latte is delicious and served in the cutest little cup. I ordered a biscuit breakfast sandwich and it's massive!

Great (and I mean GREAT) coffee and staff! The owner cares about community and has prioritized safety for the team and customers during the pandemic and, most recently, the excessive heat without sacrificing service. They also carry Deadstock coffee (highly recommend the Breezy), and make pastries in-house. I come here several times a week and even at their busiest, they take the time to serve you coffee as good as their service.

Probably ranked in my top 5 coffee shops in Portland. The barista gets my drink on par consistently and the almond milk latte is amazing! (Not sure what kind of beans the use) . However, the food selection is what makes it for me. I can order just eggs/bacon cooked to order or I can grab some hard boiled eggs for a quick bite. It's nice to have options with no bread in the mornings. Especially if they are not charging you an arm and a leg!! Service is not fast, but it's good and the atmosphere is great. Mild music (not blairing in your ears) and the people that work there seem pretty cool. I visit anytime I'm NW.

Mmmm... Mrs. RB40 and I went out for a lunch date. I got a roast beef sandwich. It was excellent. The roast beef was delicate, unlike any roast beef I've had previously. The opposite of Arby's (1000x better.) It also has caramelized onions, good cheese, and nice arugula. Mrs. RB40 got a white bean sandwich. It was really good too. Great neighborhood cafe.

Easily one of the best coconut milk lattes I’ve had! Super friendly staff. Very boujee toilet paper in the bathroom. Cute-ly decorated. Would return again.

Absolutely perfect poached eggs, amazing home-baked goodies (my favorite to date is the luminous pumpkin muffin with just the right amount of ginger and sweetness, but I’ll take an apricot jammer any day), great options for quick healthy snacks to start my tour guiding day. Commissary is gorgeous to boot and my go-to for on the go hearty, delicious food and great coffee!
