Great customer service and priced well, especially in this high inflation period. Food tasted great and was served steaming hot. Btw, the original sauce is actually hot. I was not expecting that. I couldn't bear that. If you're not used to spice, go for the sweet! I wish I had. When keeping things simple goes right! 👍

You probably can’t tell from the outside of this spot, what a gem, a rock, a sold out show of a restaurant this space is… but your NOSE and TUMMY will tell you all about it. Perfect spot for lunch and will likely not be open later or in the evening- fair warning! If it’s busy- they will sell out as well. Usually Belizean packs in during lunch time (Open-12:30pm and 1pm), centered near offices and PSU. Great if you’re in a pinch for time (they churn out plates in under 10 mins), if you’re in construction, or work in an office. Every meal is packaged/plated on sustainable to-go ware. The menu is simple and straight forward. They really focus on a few offerings and it truly shines because of this! They’ve perfected the craft! The Habanero Pepper Sauces are fire, as well as the other toppings that come with your meal. Made from the heart! A must stop if you’re in town or if walking by and hungry… just let your nose lead you to the door! You can’t miss it!

This place is incredible. The hot sauces are fruity and firey. The chicken is fall off the bone. The gravy and all the condiments like lime and onions top off my favorite PSU-adjacent establishment. It’s THE lunch spot.

A small restaurant with a very limited menu, but it satisfied our hunger. Didn’t know what to expect when we ordered Single Belizean Chicken for $11. Sorry, I didn’t take a picture before I devoured my lunch. Tasty chicken thigh and Belize rice. Came with either a spring mix or arugula salad (I had the latter), and a separate container with a sauce for meat and rice, pickled onions, and lime juice. The salad was tart with the lime juice, but I loved it that way. I added some of the opinions to both the salad and rice, and used all of the sauce on rice and chicken. Yum!

Delicious, simple, high-quality food. Each entree comes with a generous portion of salad, and you have a wide array of sauces to choose from. The proprietor is friendly and attentive. I have only good things to say about this place, will definitely be going again soon.

Ordered the single chicken plate with arugula and original hot sauce, and I added a side of beans a la carte because I really wanted to try them. Everything was delicious! The hot sauce is actually hot, the arugula was all nice and fresh, the chicken thigh was tender and flavorful, and the beans were creamy and delicious. I would've loved an option to have plain coconut rice, as that is what I miss most from Belize, and it's nice to get the coconut flavor separate from the beans. This is a great, healthful option and very reasonably priced at $11 for a full meal; with $15 I can easily make two good meals. The interior is quite casual, with a beautiful mural of a Mayan building on the wall, counter seating as well as a few tables, and two clean restrooms. The staff were pleasant and personable, and I feel for them having to work in this place without A/C! Because it's quite hot, they weren't offering their curry, but hopefully I can come back to try that some day.

The chicken was very tender and the gravy was delicious. They let you to pick up a dressing you want, and some of them were hot sauces. It's a nice meal for week day lunch.

The menu has only 4 items but that is okay. I tried Belizean chicken (single) $11 (as of April 2022) and it was really good! It was a well-balanced entry; you get chicken, rice, and fresh salad. Sauces are interesting. I think they are listed on the menu from the least spicy to the spiciest. I tried "prickly pear" and absolutely loved it. It was def prickly but refreshing.

Amazing Flavor. Employees were great. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was good. It's been awhile since I wanted to write a review, but I had to tell others about this place. There isn't much signage (if any) that brings you in from the street, but once you find this place you'll never forget it. Very limited seating inside; we had to wait a few minutes for a place to sit at 130pm on a Thursday. I never had Belizean food before, but I really thought the flavors, portion and price were perfect. Go eat here. You won't be disappointed and you'll want to go back. Next time I'm in Portland I know I'll stop here for lunch again.
