This place might seem like a rundown hole in the wall at first, but it has better food than most "fancy" restaurants can dream of. They marinate their meats for days. They make their own sauces and their prices cannot be beat. Go here. Order a burrito. Prepare for enlightenment.

As lots of people have pointed out: It's a hole in the wall kind of place... Clean, but unlikely to impress a date. A pretty large menu. Quite fast, we had some other people waiting when we got there, but they got our order done within only a few minutes. Prices are noticeably low. The machaca burritos were quite tasty. Not something one sees on every Mexican place's menu. Good "roast beef" kind of flavor. The veggie quesadilla was very hearty, more like a meal item than the normal appetizer. The bean and cheese (burrito?) was a hit with my spouse. I get the feeling one should specifically mention vegetarian even on the "veggie lovers" section of the menu. About the only thing that was odd was I didn't see the drinks listed on the menu. I may order one in the future, but I may have to just point at the machine and say "What flavor?"

Perfect Northern style burrito. The staff were friendly, and timely. We got 2 Carne asada burritos for later, a Carne asada taco, taco al pastor and a taco lengua for there. The ambience of the dining room is run down bus station-esque, but clean. Not sides like limes, salsa, or other wise are presented. Ask for those items. The sodas were warm. But that's not why I went; the burritos were perfect. Their food is delicious. Their service is good. The dining room needs some work. All considered, the food is delicious so give them a go.

This place has certainly earned its stripes, and then delivers a delicious product. Many loyal patrons due to their consistency and affordability. I rocked their carne asada burrito, enchilada style (melted cheese and red sauce galore) and was impressed by the spicing and quality of meat. Their salsa roja is HOT, brace yourselves for it. Their salsa verde is milder but extremely savory. My friend’s carne asada fries looked STACKED, good enough for a meal and a half. Generous portions, fair pricing, and an OG vibe as soon as you walk in. Don’t sleep on King Burrito!

Great burrito spot! The line was long about 10-12 minutes to wait. It was worth the wait though. Big meaty burritos coming out of this kitchen. Once you put in an order it didn’t take long at all for them to make it. I had the chorizo breakfast burrito. Was one of the best I’ve had in the northwest. Will definitely be coming back another day. Prices were reasonable able.👍👍

Just got the King Burrito enchilada style, it was delicious! I am usually not a Chile Riano kind of person but had to try it as many of the other reviews suggested it. Usually I prefer rice and beans and the other fixings in a typical burrito but this was huge, and flavor pack! Just the right amount of heat (just enough to make things interesting but not enough to over power the flavor of everything else). Also the enchilada sauce had a nice thick meaty almost chili like taste and consistency. Don’t let my not so flattering picture fool you, for $10.50 it was well worth it! I can’t wait to come back again! Food was fantastic, service was fantastic, but the place especially the bathroom could use a little cleaning and attention (although that’s kind of expected at a lot of hole in the wall places).

Love this place! They make the best Mexican food. I’ve been going here since I was a child. Over a decade later I’m still recommending it to people. Keep in mind it has looked exactly the same after 2 decades. If you’re all about aesthetics when you dine in, you might hate the “run down” look. I love it and so do us locals that grew up going here. Its a great sign of fantastic timeless food and a piece of untouched St. Johns. Hope you like it!

Definitely a great place to eat. I had the Chimichanga and it was pretty good. The rice was good too. Not outstanding 5 stars but definitely 4 stars and will come back.

Absolutely 💯 the best. Hot sauces are nicely balanced with flavor and heat. I love eating here! The building is a real dive. I definitely order to go. If you judge just based on the food quality. Best hole in the wall that I know of.

This restaurant has some of the BEST Mexican food in Portland! We always ordered their double bacon cheeseburgers and were never disappointed with how crispy the bacon was. The french fries were soooo fresh as well! I ordered the chimichanga covered with enchilada sauce sometimes. The tostadas were very delicious too. However, the avocado sauce was okay, but fresh avocados would have made the flavor pop more in my opinion. The cashiers were always very kind. Wonderful atmosphere. Made me feel at home. I hope to return to Portland and try King Burrito's burgers and burritos again! ❤🧡💛 10/10, would recommend to any burger fan out there! And honestly, when I ordered to go, I never took too many pictures of the food because it was so good I'd just end up eating it as soon as I arrived home! 😆 haha
