I had pork gyoza and the basic Ramen. Both were super delicious and really hit the spot 👍 It was the perfect amount too- not over full, no leftovers.

Great food in a relaxed vibe restaurant. Staff are really helpful and friendly. It looks like it can get busy so arrive early to get a spot! The fish servings in the nigiri are really generous!

Incredible experience! Absolutely loved the atmosphere, and the staff is very friendly, timely, and accommodating. We ordered the spicy roll and fatty maki roll, and the Marukami ramen and Chicken Paitan ramen. All of it was very flavorful and fresh. A perfect experience, look forward to returning!!

I really got a kick out of coming to Yataimura Maru! The place was packed and had such a wonderful vibe going on. The layout of the restaurant was very interesting and the employees were absolute pros. Next time I go I'm definitely going to try the miso soup! And they are trans friendly too🌈😁

Hands down one of my favorite Japanese/ramen restaurants in Portland! Pictured is their chicken paitan ramen, my go-to whenever I eat there. Their calamari appetizer is also delicious. Good selection of sake, sushi and other Japanese dishes. If you haven't been here, I highly recommend giving it a try!

Came in for a fancy dinner...but on a budget! Spent less than 60 bucks and left feeling extremely full, and feeling ~divine~ Got the salmon bowl *I'm forgetting its actual name on the menu, but it had a chicken option too* ; the tofu appetizer, which is my absolute favorite tofu preparation I've had in pdx ; my partner got a noodle bowl, he didn't like it as much as he wanted too but it was still great, he completely forgot the name of it though... ; the octopus dumplings are both of our favorites! ; lastly, the sushi roll was stuffed with tuna and topped with seared salmon, it was the most delicious item we had all night. Highly recommend for any birthday, special event, date night, etc!

Delicious food and lots of outdoor seating in the front and on the side. We sat on the side and the environment was great with a nice breeze even though it was a hot day. The sushi was great but the chashu pork in my Tokyo ramen was just one huge chunk of pork. I would have preferred it to be sliced but broth was delicious and service was excellent.

This is one of the best places in Portland for getting a wide variety of Japanese cuisine, from sushi to noodles to things on the grill. It may well be one of the few places in town that serves Okonomiyaki, one of our favorites.

4 stars for the great atmosphere and friendly staff. The decor definitely bring you into a nice Japanese street setting like environment. I came during the day but I can imagine coming here in the evening is even better. Parking could be challenging in this busy neighborhood. 3 stars for the food. Probably best come during happy hours with drinks to enjoy this place like an izakaya, as food is just average. Things are in general more on the salty side, so drink more!
