Chicken And Guns

The chicken was exactly what I didn't know I needed. Juicy and seasoned well. Crispy skin. Dipping sauces if you're into that. The guns were pretty good. Probably delicious even, but next to the chicken they paled. The guys running the joint were fantastic and added some puntastic jokes to the evening.

Chicken is delicious. Potatoes are crispy. Sauces are sublime. But the service sucks. Ask for ketchup for your potatoes (the sauce is great as I said, but I use it all for my chicken and wanted something else for my “guns”), and they will proudly tell you they do not serve any, will declare with heroic resolve that they will not help you find it at any other truck, and that you will have to “figure it out yourself”. They are classic Portlandia-pretentious foodies who plagiarize another culture’s food and shame you for daring to tarnish their artwork with something as detestably capitalistic as ketchup. But it is really great food, so I will come back again, and next time I will bring my own ketchup ;)

I love this place! The roast chicken with that Peruvian sauce is amazing. That sauce is so good, it would make about anything edible. The "guns" (potatoes) are a great tasting compliment that goes along with the chicken and tastes great with the Peruvian sauce and the pickled onions. I've been here multiple times and will be back soon.
