We love Urdaneta, such a treat, rich and bursting with flavor, each dish is surprisingly different from the next, the menu has subtly changed over time, keeping around some of the more obvious favorites while including new unexpected combinations. That said rich is the word, we reserve this unique experience for our most discerning foodie friends, who can appreciate the intricate nuances and complicated (yet sublime) creations. Were I the owner I might add a 2nd menu with 3 sets of chefs suggestion in order... There def were flavors that I would have rather had before others since the dishes are so wildly different.... but as always a delightful adventure...

Love, love love this place, definitely one of the best restaurants in Portland! The chef is always keeping it fresh and seasonal! Such creative dishes and every item on the plate has a purpose to complement each other. When I get to missing Spain this place always brings me back!

Excellent all-around. Possibly my new favorite spot in town! I love fancy food and schmancy service. Discovered this Spanish tapas spot down the street from where I live; at first glance seemed touristy and a little over priced, but I decided to walk in and try it anyway. Oh Em Gee - it was amazing! The two things I got are standard in so many spots - squash soup and fried brussel sprouts, but these were layered with-flavor and so much depth, I ate very slowly to enjoy them as long as I could. I’ve not been to a place that offers a vermouth flight. It’s my drink of choice ever since I went to Barcelona. So I immediately ordered that. The service was very personable, friendly, while feeling top-notch. Go here now!

I discovered Urdaneta years ago during Portland Dining Month and it is still, in my opinion, the best restaurant in town. The food is inspired, every time I go there's a new twist on a familiar dish. The flavors are out of this world and service is impeccable. It's like dining at a friend's house, one who is also an incredible artist in the kitchen. This is where I bring visiting friends and family when I want to showcase Portland's food scene. Just make sure to make a reservation, the place is popular and very small.

This is a really cool dining experience! The food and staff are simply over the top. We ordered quite a few dishes and there really wasn't any duds. We didn't want any dessert, so they gave us a candle on an empty plate LOL (anniversary/birtday meal). Can't say enough good things. We went on a whim and I'm really glad we did. Looking forward to a return visit!

Holy smokes. This place is incredible. We had the Bikini, Arroz Con Pato, Cordero, Porrusalda, Txangurro a la Donostiarra, Flan De Calabaza I highly recommend the Flan De Calabaza to anyone. The Txangurro a la Donostiarra is fantastic too, but you REALLY have to like crab to enjoy it, which we did. All in all, we were very full by the end and would come back again any day!

We are a party of 6 on a Friday night. Reservation was at 5 pm and the restaurant was full by 530. Reservation is a must for bigger parties. The food was amazing. My favorite dishes were the foie gras and Jamon Y Melon.

Pretty good meal, especially the pintxos! Creative food (especially the foie gras on the banana bread!) and beautiful space. Our server didn't ask our preferences for the vermouth flight and randomly came back with some even though we knew what we wanted to try, but otherwise good.

Have been meaning to try this place for a while now and finally made it this weekend. Excellent food and lovely service. Morcilla (house made blood sausage with quail egg), Pulpo (grilled octopus), and the basque cheese cakes are must haves! The aerated truffle potato base in the pulpo was so delicious. Some other highlights are Mazamorra, the grilled peppers, and their off the menu Oregon shrimp tapas. Definitely my new favorite Spanish restaurant in town :)

Get a reservation here now!! André will make your meal a perfectly tailored mellow-thrill ride. The enthusiasm we experienced from him and the whole team was simply intoxicating. OUTSTANDING cocktail alert…get the Marianito, you won’t regret it!!!! The whole meal was immersive and comforting. Would recommend this to any diner with an open mind looking for something soulful and fresh for the body and mind. Definitely coming back for those special date nights. 10/10

Wow! Just wow! I’ve been to Spain and I hate to say it but the tapas and pinchos at Urdaneta blow them out of the water. This gem of a restaurant consistently puts out phenomenal food and service to boot. Do yourself a favor and order whatever the server reccomends. This was such a fantastic spot for my wife and I to have a date night. No meal here is complete without the burnt basque cheese cake, it is simply divine!!

our server, andre, has made this (and my partner’s) dining experience among the top 5 experiences we’ve ever had at a restaurant, and baby we love to EAT!! I also never feel inclined to write a review, let alone add photos; but this was such a special meal that we’ll never forget. we ordered the gilda 2.0, txangurro, jamon iberico de bellota, berenjena, pulpo a la brasa, and tarts de queso— all recommended by andre, and loved by us. not once have I heard of this restaurant, and being born & raised in portland, I am upset I never have!! I will be recommending this place to all of my friends and giving special shout outs to our favorite server, andre. If you’re reading this, you are loved!! happy two months of pride!! ♡
