Everything was fantastic! I usually stop to take pictures but couldn’t help just digging in immediately. We’ve been meaning to come here since before Covid and finally made it. So glad we did! The fried chicken, brisket curry, and pad Thai were all fantastic. The roti was delicious. Overall it was great and we will happily go back!

My oh my was this a treat. I placed a large order for pick up to eat home that included a hot hai for 4, brisket curry and oxtail soup! The curry that comes with the fried chicken is so thick and flavorful with what I can only describe as the flavors of fall. The chicken is so crispy good and Vega to be dipped in the curry. The fried shallots are so good as a garnish on top of the rice with a spoonful of the curry as well. The oxtail soup is so rich with fatty, marrow goodness yet finishes light and clean from the acid in the tomato and ample lemon grass flavor imparted in the broth. The beef brisket curry was so fragrant with a touch of spice that went so well the the beautifully braised beef brisket. A++ for Hot Hai!

Absolutely fell in love with this place! As somebody that would frequently visit Indonesia to see family the roti is fantastic and good enough that I would share with my family if they were ever to visit. Because of that, this place has instantly become a comfort food go to for me, the curry is hot, warm in fighting in the perfect level of spice, even for those that are new to spice. I don’t think that you can do this place justice if you don’t get the fried chicken that they have as that is the real star of the show. Exactly how my Indonesian grandmother would make it.

This location is still a solid place to get some great food. We ordered the whole chicken combo to share and also the grond pork dish. Everything we had met our expectations. I did enjoy the ground pork dish as it had a good amount of spicy kick to it.

Delicous food! This is an order at the counter type of place. They get really busy sometimes, and it can be a bit of wait for food on the weekends. The staff are great and quite nice. This is a southern style of Thai food. This Thai food is different than most thai restaurants. The food is outstanding. The food that says it is spicy, which means it is on fire spicy at this place I learned the hard way. My favorite is the Pad Thai wrapped in egg. Everything is so yummy! Moderate prices, decent portion size, and street parking.

Freshly made Thai food, crunch chicken heaven… doughy roti. Curry was the star! Year after year we keep coming back when we’re in town. Better than the downtown location

I was craving fried chicken and Hat Yai totally filled it. I don't think I've ever had fried chicken with the flavors that Hat Yai has--I am speechless on how to describe it. Just go try it out for yourself and tell me if you've had it anywhere else. We ordered the Hat Yai for two which was half a chicken, sticky rice, 2 roti's and curry. We ended up adding 2 additional wings for $3 each since we were starving. This ended up being the right amount of food for my husband and I. The roti too was amazing. It was soft and flakey which made it perfect for dipping in the curry. I encourage anyone who wants fried chicken with a twist to try out Hat Yai for a unique experience.

This was the perfect meal. We got the Hat Yai for two. The chicken, the rice, the roti, the curry, the pickled vegetables… all so delicious. The Thai iced tea was also a treat. Please come to Minneapolis!

Love the Thai style fried chicken here. Large portions and recommend the combo. Friendly staff that helps with clean up even though they have signs to clean up after yourself.
