This is a Portland culinary experience at its best. Each dish was beautifully crafted, the service had ZERO pretension and the restaurant itself was bright and beautiful. We felt comfortable and well taken care of - the staff all interacted so respectfully of each other, it set a tone for our entire experience. Our table of four shared: Radicchio Cherry Chopped Salad, Shrimp Toast, Garlic Fries, Wasabi Fried Chicken Sandwich & the Steam Burger. We drank: Drip Coffee, Champagne Cocktail, Gin Rickey and our daughter had a beautifully made Hot Chocolate. Each item felt like it was special - we kept raising our eyebrows and pushing food at each other to ensure we all got to experience the surprise and delight of each bite! Plates are easy to share...well, not that easy, because we wanted the last bit!

Great food, service + atomsophere. Foie Gras dumplings to die for! Deserts off the chart. Highly recommend.

The waitstaff explained each dish, which are served family style. Everyone gets a few bites of five or six dishes, and they are all incredible. Split a parfait with your bestie -- they are very generous portions!

"Never have I tasted food this good" said my husband as we savored every morsel of the foie gras dumplings. The sugar snap pea and asparagus was my favorite dish though. The flavor combination so unique, yet comforting, and very satisfying. I could eat this every day, happily. We always enjoy sitting in the kitchen section and watching these skilled chefs create dishes that they are proud of and that taste so damn good.

If you’re looking for an amazing meal look no further. The seasonal specials on the menu showcase the best of the Pacific Northwest and highlights the freshest locally sourced ingredients with a down to earth French spin. To match the amazing food Canard has THE BEST HOSPITALITY in all of Portland. As soon as you walk in you feel at home and the decor is Devine! Lastly, don’t sleep on the desserts, they will knock your socks off. Can’t wait to bring my family of four back and have another unforgettable meal. Thank you Canard!!

By far my favorite place to go when in Downtown Portland! This was the 3rd time I've been here. I am always one to try new dishes but I've gotten the same thing every time and it never disappoints. The duck stack is a sweet, savory and has a little kick of spice. Such a complex dish that I've never experienced before. This time I decided to also get the Albacore Crudo which was also excellent. For some reason I was not expecting it to be served in a bowl, I was expecting it to look like a roll or something along those lines but that's on me. Either way the flavors were melting in my mouth. I recommend this place to everyone I speak with while I'm here. Surprised to hear a lot of locals did not even know about them!

Fantastic meal sitting at the kitchen bar. Highlights were the scallops and crab over lobster creamed corn, duck pancakes, and salad with candied pistachios, nectarines, and lots of sheep’s cheese. Oh and of course the steam burger and chicken wings.

It’s been a while since I had a dining experience that was this good in all aspects. The service was outstanding- everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent- the duck stack, the stuffed mushrooms, and the pumpkin pie parfait were my favorites. And the atmosphere was lively and cozy. We left feeling full and happy. Definitely dining here again.

My partner and I moved to Seattle last year but every time we visit Canard is a must. The foie gras dumplings are the single best thing I’ve ever eaten, each time delighting us with a new seasonal variation. Very close second is the duck stack with the extra foie. It’s gourmet stoner food and I say that with the deepest appreciation. Sitting at the counter and watching the chefs weave their magic is an extra treat on top of the wonderful service we’ve received each and every visit. I love this place with all my organ meats.

Excellent ambiance and food. They made me a killer old fashioned too. We enjoyed the fried chicken wings, steam burgers, and steak frites. These people know food and it was the culinary highlight of our trip to Portland.

Inviting and warm atmosphere. Staff really knew their stuff regarding menu and wine. Food was delicious (and expensive) . It's definitely worth it for an event, celebration, or treat yourself dinner.
