Stopped in for lunch today and the staff and owner were very friendly. Ordered the $5 burger special and it was the best burger I've had in years. Burger was huge and the fries were delicious! I will definitely be coming back for the amazing food and great atmosphere. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a home town feel and outstanding food! 5 star food and service!!
We had breakfast here this morning. We both ordered the breakfast bowls. They were amazing!! So so so good! I wish we had known they served breakfast sooner! We will definitely be back! Also our server Colleen was great. Thanks again!

2023_08_19 We were in Holt and needed a place to eat on our way back to West Michigan. With Portland on our way and knowing Portland has a lot going for it I found Fabiano's River House Bar & Grille on Google Maps, well rated and looking like a good place to stop. It was everything we were wanting and we will work to stop again! The service was continually and friendly! The food was great! And the atmosphere was very nice. We were there late afternoon, during a time when we could walk in and grab a table, on the deck along the river. I would imagine that is not always the case as the deck is not huge. I estimate maybe 30-40 seats. There is a bar out there as well, with maybe 8 seats. There is also an interior portion of the restaurant and bar. Totally separate but apparently still the same. Sitting on the deck, being on the Looking Glass River, just south of where it meets the Grand River, is very nice. There is a nice park across the river with an adjacent bridge, for a nice after dinner walk. And Portland seems to have a nice downtown adjacent as well, although we got on our way and didn't spend any more time, other than driving through. Again we will work to go back.
Wanted to check out a new (to us) place on our way back to GR. I'm so glad we did! I had the "Smokehouse Burger" and it was "Fabiano"!! We will be back!
Located on the river in downtown Portland, this is fun spot. There is a year-round outdoor area with views of the river and the bar/restaurant area. I had a deluxe pizza which was AMAZING. It was handmade crust (which is rare these days) with plenty of toppings. Price was comparable to the surrounding area.
The only issue is, there is not a lot of parking area, so get there early.

Service and atmosphere were great. Our server was super sweet and attentive. The food was good. We had an early dinner and I think we arrived at kitchen shift change because it felt like the kitchen wasn't ready for dinner just yet but still worth the stop.
The food and service were extremely excellent. I had a fabinao river salad with apple cider vinagerette. My wife had the mack n chese. Both were to die for. The staff were friendly and very accomidating. If you are in Portland, stop in and get a bite to eat. All the food is delicious.
I ordered the calzone and let me tell you. It was the sauciest and cheeseist calzone I've ever had.
The service was impeccable because of the cute waitress they had and how polite she was no matter what even after my grandma kept switching subjects when the waitress was trying to get her attention.
The atmosphere alone was very old fashioned which fit very well as a sports bar but it felt so very modern.
Overall very good experience will come back when I get the chance too.
Cute little place overlooking the river. The sandwiches were really good!
Has an incredible salad called the river house salad! Fabulous!! My companion had the summer salad. They were both huge, with lots of toppings not just lettuce. Highly recommend!
I love the food. Great portions, And in the summertime you can't beat sitting next to the river. Listen to live music.. oh and the best breadsticks you have ever had!!!
