My apologies to the good people of Finistére as this review is a couple days overdue. I can’t stop thinking about what a wonderful evening it was. I was feeling a bit glum, so I decided to treat myself at what I now, easily regard as the best restaurant in town. Amy served me throughout the evening. She was fluent with the seasonally-changing menu and emanated warmth and welcoming with every word. The staff and owners work as a team and every interaction was a high note. Now... for the food! I began with four oysters, the pairings were classic and fresh and the level of brine was exactly as described. Yum! The deviled eggs were splendid and indulgent as ever. Now the liver mousse and onion jam was exceptional, ever bite was a literal delight. I couldn’t stop grinning and swaying to the music as I reveled. I hesitated to also order the leek and potato soup, but this was one of those nights, so of course, I did, and was rewarded. Each bite was a firework of continually unexpected, understated flavor. The infused oil, the tiny croutons, oh Chef, you’re making me swoon! I enjoyed the creamy polenta with my Parisian (Duck Confit) Gnocchi and left my body for the span it took to enjoy the dish. It didn’t even occur to me that I was getting full as I was absorbed in a dream-like stupor over the melt-in-your-mouth textures, the fatty indulgence, and glorious acidity in the accompany flavors. Just wow. Full as I was, I was almost daring this evening to ascend to a ridiculous level of perfection by ordering dessert. I ordered the toffee pudding paired with the Flor de Jerez aperitif. Good lord. Credit goes to Amy for encouraging me in that direction. Clearly I’m obsessed so I’ll just say, go and try it for yourself. (Food is more important (to me), but the Riparian gin cocktail, the albariño, and the dolcetto were all on point as well. Can’t wait to return!

The food here is beyond delicious. I had no idea that deviled eggs could taste so good. The sourdough bread and garlic butter is something you don't want to miss. My husband had a tender delicious steak and i had the most amazing pasta. The people who work here are so nice and helpful.

#covidready Lovely spot with great Heaters and great food. Has a reputation for small plates, but I left overly full on lasagna. They make a very good old fashioned as well. On the pricey side, but a wonderful spot for a celebration. The old fashioned is fantastic with one large cube, and the house bread was delicious.

The husband and I had dinner here recently to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was perfect from the ambiance to the service to the food. Our bearded server from the Midwest (sorry, didn't catch his name!) was very helpful and a kindly dude. We went a little crazy ordering several starters and sides along with our entrees, and everything was prepared to perfection. Beverage selections included quite a few local beers, ciders and wines, as well as cocktails and spirits. There was a good selection of vegetarian items to choose from and all the ingredients were seasonal and delish. The restaurant has great lighting and a cozy, yet contemporary feel. We left overly stuffed and would make the trip to Port Townsend again just to eat here.

Fantastic meal, great service, exceptional food. A homey, urban decor that you may expect find in a large city, but with a distinctly northwest ambiance, Finistere delivers an all around great experience. The daily pasta was a standout, as was the chicken liver pate. Look forward to returning!

Food was incredible! We enjoyed the beet salad, ricotta ravioli and green beans. Was a phenomenal meal. We’d go again but it’s booked solid the rest of the weekend. We’ll definitely be back!

I would eat here every night if that weren't an absurd way to live. Best salmon this side of the Mississippi for sure, and my father-in-law insists on dinner here whenever he's in town just to try whatever seasonal soup is on the menu.

Went for happy hour. The food was delicious. You should definitely try the fried oysters. We ordered 2 orders because it was so good. The waiter was nice enough to let our dogs sit outside with us. Will definitely visit again in the future.
