Tokyo Express

Update:I was saddened to see the TOKYO EXPRESS sign hand been taken down and a work crew appeared to be remodeling inside. Hope Tokyo Express comes back better than ever. Love the sushi, the plates, the staff. The food portions will never leave you hungry, the food quality is always fresh and delicious. The prices are very well worth all you're getting in quality, taste, freshness and over all satisfaction. Love the ease of in and out time on to go orders.

Very good flavors, fast servise and great portions and prices, the place was a litle warm and problably need a deep clean inside the kitchen. Also outdoor area looks like it could be cute with some love, you are still kind of close to the island only 5 min drive totally worth the drive Island prices are ridiculous and places are always overcroweded with bad service and food, this place is great for pescaterian and vegeterian options, and you can beat the dollar menu items

We'll definitely be back!! We were a little skeptical because because of the pictures online but decided to try it anyway. Although they took a little long in our order it was so worth it. The food was amazing, fresh and the portions were fantastic 👏. We are so happy that we went to Tokyo Express and can't wait to go back!!

This place is fantastic. Don't expect much in the way of Japanese cuisine other than sushi or miso soup (Tokyo in the name is a bit misleading) it's mostly a Chinese restaurant in a similar setup as Panda Express (cafeteria style line). All of the food is better than what I would've expected. What sets them apart though are the HUGE portions for the price. I got the special and went with orange chicken, jalapeño chicken, lo mein, and an egg roll. The egg roll was extra but was only 99c. Me and my buddies (young men in our twenties) couldn't even finish our plates but they conveniently come in "doggy boxes" so you can just pack up your leftovers and leave when you're done. If I lived near Port Isabel, I'd be here all the time. Highly recommend.

Went their Saturday TOTALLY WORTH IT !!! We were five in total each plate was 7.59 plus taxes and drink came to $41 worth the mom you spend their served it hot and they served each plate a lot which I love and super friendly too that’s even a big plus I would rather go their then another restaurant worth it people when you go to south padre island you gotta stop their to eat

We ate there today for the first time. It exceeded our taste expectations :) The portions were extremely generous and well-priced for $6.99! That gets you 2 main dish selections, with a side of either noodles or rice. Piled high. Yes, we are going back! The atmosphere isn’t lovely, but tolerable. No, I wouldn’t bring picky friends there. I know if this was my place, I’d want to do a little more for atmosphere though... I did see a bottle of floor cleaner at the front window... that sort of thing doesn’t need to be sitting out as if it’s being stored there. It wouldn’t take much to spiff it up some :) The food we had was all great, which was: sesame chicken, black pepper jalapeño chicken, chicken and mushroom, and beef and broccoli. We even commented how we’d get those dishes again. Btw, we both just got the lo mein noodles for our side dish, so we don’t know about the rice yet. Looking forward to another visit!

This place gives you a lot of food for your money. The bourbon chicken is excellent. We like this place for a quick meal to go. Don't expect a lot of smiling faces or friendly chit chat- they just want to serve you your food and do their job without any extras. I don't have a problem with that, but if you need your server to smile or engage with you, then you should go somewhere else.
