Peking House

Delicious!! We're in for a quick vacation and this restaurant is right down the street the our hotel. I love Chinese food, but I'm also pretty picky. The food was delicious. We dined in and the food was fresh and tasty. The staff was very sweet. The hostess greeted everyone as they entered. You can definitely tell it's a local joint because the hostess seemed to know many of the customers by name and had great relationships with them. She was pleasant with us when my husband asked a question. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant. From the atmosphere, the food, to the cost. Definitely worth a visit.

I am giving this review a “1” because I cannot give it a “0.” My hellish experience occurred in mid April 2021 when I arrived after work to place an order from their Covid “phone booth.” Other customers were arriving to pick up their orders that were phoned in. Not wishing anyone to bring home anything cold I allowed three parties in ahead of me. When my turn came to order (I already knew what I wanted), the woman asked me whether I was picking up or ordering? “Ordering,” I said. Whereupon she closed the window, went back to the kitchen, and began shoveling white rice into boxes as if she was possessed by some malevolent spirit. Did she forget me? The graffiti on the walls led me to believe that others too, had waited longer than I (some may have even died of hunger - was I in Shawshank?). Not wanting to become a statistic, I waited six minutes-she never did return - either will I.
