What a hidden gem! I needed to grab lunch quick and the place up the road had such a long wait.
I stumbled into here and loved everything I ate!
There was a wings and clams special so I tried both. So hard to not order more of them, they were both fabulous! I have been craving some good local wings. I also got a burger to split with my boyfriend and it was his favorite out of everything. We were extremely pleased. Large pours with our beers and cocktails. Waitress was friendly and nice! Cannot wait to return
My wife and I were given a gift card for 279 last Christmas and it was about to expire so we gave it a try, having never been. Absolutely great sports bar! Food was way above what I expected. The cheesesteak is my wife's new favorite! Everything was fresh and very well made! Loads of TV's and even a TV in our booth the watch the game. Our waitress/bartender was super nice and friendly. Highly recommend! Will be going there from now on to watch the games with friends.

2nd time here in 8 years. Why?...1st time was ok.... it just was, nothing to write home about....
..... but we were looking for a place open and we ended up here. I will say it was better then I recall, and better then I expected it to be which was great!
I dont regret not going sooner, but would throw 279 in the mix when considering a spot in the future.
Had a great dinner, and. Dessert which wwe never get but it looked so good. We tried three different cheesecake slices. Irish coffee, Ferro chocolate, and cinnamon.. all very good.
They had live music Sean and Cassandra were playing. I hope our live duo Peaceful Outlaws can play here soon as well.

Wrap-up: Michele Lynn and staff offered great service. The appetizers that they put out to sample were above and beyond what we expected and they were delicious. This was our 3rd supper club event and I look forward to them every month. The crew that has come out thus far are amazing people. If you are contemplating coming than I ensure you to come check it out.
Music bar with a pulse. The atmosphere was great. Good music with karaoke. Friendly smiles all around. Prompt service and excellent selection of wines to boot.
Tried the crab soup and the tuna salad. Good food! Overall a lovely fun environment to spend an evening.
Go there, they are open late, even on a Sunday.
Chef salad from 279 Bar & Grill in Plains. In specials once in a while but so good! Their strawberry jalapeño margarita and lucky charm martinis are pretty damn good too!!
Drove by this place many times so I finally decided to stop in and I couldn’t have been any happier with my decision! Great atmosphere - clean and roomy accompanied by friendly and attentive staff. The food was absolutely delicious! Started off with some hot bleu cheese boneless bites. The sauce was great and the chicken itself was cooked perfectly. I ordered a cheesesteak for my entree and it was amazing! The peppers they put on it were particularly good for some reason. My friend ordered a bacon jam burger for his entree which he said was amazing (and I believe it because he inhaled it 😂). ALSO the fresh cut fries are probably the best I’ve ever had! They’re comparable to Coal City which was my favorite place for fries but they closed due to the pandemic. In conclusion this place is a hidden gem and I’d encourage anyone to give it a try. I can’t wait to go back and try more 😋
Met up w/ family/friends for Sun. karaoke. Had a great time, bartenders were FABULOUS from the first drink to last. Michelle and crew went above and beyond to reunite me with cell the following day. ~ Beautiful kind humans serving great food and drinks!!!
Super friendly staff, food was fantastic. They had a band that sounded amazing!
