I always order mei fun from them and it tastes pretty authentic. Very few Chinese restaurants in the area have mei fun. The owner seems like a nice guy so I think I should give them a good review.

Don't order anything off the non-Chinese menu, unless you crave non-authentic American Chinese delights (in that case, TREAT YO'SELF). This is the only Chinese restaurant in Western Pennsylvania I'd consider showing my Chinese parents. I've only been disappointed by their soup noodles (though if you question why I was ordering soup noodles at a Sichuanese place, I'll look appropriately sheepish), and am particularly fond of their fried spicy fish pieces.

Best authentic Chinese food in town definitely, if you like spicy food this is definitely the first choice

This was very "meh" Chinese food. Fried rice was a little disappointing, dumplings were huge and actually okay. Not a great atmosphere in there.

Kudos to the sauce thanks ranks among the best in the city. However, the veggie portions were small enough to make the biggest vegan cry

Waited Over 2 Hours for Delivery. I ordered a small vegetarian meal from here and it took more than 2 hours for it to be delivered-- and I only live 10 minutes away from the restaurant. Won't be ordering from here again.

I tried it after the renovation and really love their food. Its reasonably priced and they give you a lot for your money. Their fried rice is the beat I've had in Pittsburgh and I love the Taiwan rice noodle.

Authentic Chinese Food. I would just like to point out that there are two different China Star restaurants on Murray Ave. The one across from the Giant Eagle is the good one. They just opened a few month ago. This is their second restaurant, so you know they're pretty good. Their first restaurant's on McKnight Road in McIntyre Square. I recommend reading a few of the review for their other restaurant if you want get an idea of what they're about.

The good China Star serves authentic Sichuan style Chinese food. You can tell they're authentic and good cause when you walk in, many of their customers are Chinese. For those of you who like the general tso's and lo meins, not to worry cause they have all the "fake" Chinese food too. Some of my favorites are their tan tan noodles, scallion pancake, shrimp in chili sauce, double cooked pork, garlic egg plant and they have hot pot! So, if you don't know which China Star to go to, pick this one. It's just a few minutes away and the food is much MUCH better. I would give this restaurant a 4.5 out of 5 stars just because the serves could have been better (not to say it was bad).

I've actually tried the other China Star too. No authentic food there, but their "fake" Chinese food wasn't bad...it wasn't very good either. It's kind of funny but I think the non-authentic Chinese food from the other China Star is better. In short, if I feel like some good old general tso's, I'd rather go somewhere else. I would give this restaurant a 2 out of 5 stars because the food is edible but nothing special at all.

Legit Chinese food.. If you're into actual Chinese food (not the Americanized kind -- crab rangoon, lo mein, etc.) then you might like this place. I have to admit I was rather hesitant to come here at first as I thought it'd be just another one of those Americanized Chinese options -- most places in Pittsburgh are like that -- but I was nicely surprised by the quality and style of their food. I ordered West Lake Beef Soup, some hot pot "Chengdu beef" something something, and some sort of chicken. All were quite good. They offer some SiChuan dishes and some other traditional options. Would recommend.

RIP Pacific Ring. The place added inviting windows, but the food was bad, and make shore to stay within 10 yards of a bathroom for at least 10 hours after you eat there.

Since it just reopened thursday, I understand that their menu was photocopied, missing pages, and they didn't have certain items like pad thai and cheese rangoon. But otherwise the food was great. The service was questionable. We sat down without menus then asked if we were ready to order. Asked if we wanted drinks, water, never arrived and they switched wait staff on us (we did see the guy who took our drink order did get water for himself). After our food arrived she took away our chopsticks for some reason, and we had to ask for them back. While in midbite thru our dinner, another lady came to our table and said "all done?" As she grabbed our plates and walked away....... so interesting dinner experience. Take out - for sure. Dine in- not again.

Picked up take out that we would not feed our dogs. Burned eggrolls and sour old rice ... we didn't even try the entrees after smelling them... stay away!
