Ka Mei is the only place in Pittsburgh that serves the greatest Chinese comfort food around -- congee. It serves about 2 hungry people so the price may seem high but it is completely worth it. Authentic HK/Cantonese-style Chinese food (hot tea served in a pot!) and the owners are wonderful! When the quarantine is over and the world is healthy, Ka Mei is the first place I'm heading!

I'm a serious fan of authentic Hong Kong cuisine and Ka Mai's is reasonably scored a 4 out of 5 stars on that front. Their shrimp wonton noodle soup for example was good but not great and seemed to have chopped shrimp rather than crispy whole small shrimp. The noodles were in a ball, indicating that they had been pre-cooked and dropped into the soup before serving; it took a fair amount of poking at the ball to get it to loosen in the hot soup. The broth was authentically flavored but a little bit weak. Hot chili oil was provided on request but not present on the table as it would be in Toronto, New York, San Francisco or even Cleveland.
Ka Mei is likely the best Hong Kong style restaurant in Pittsburgh, but that's not saying much as it is possibly the most important international cuisine that Pittsburgh has not yet discovered. Ka Mei would have to up their game by quite a bit to be on par with those in other major cities.

One of the very few restaurants in Pittsburgh that you can get Cantonese food. They have good wonton noodles and congee (both pretty hard to find in Pittsburgh). Haven't tried the other fishes but it's now on my To Do list!

My friend love this place. The service is fast, food is nice. The taste and tea can still improve though. It’s a good place. I give 4 stars only because I give 5 to perfect places.

Shared 6 different entrees, all very good. Sesame Chicken was outstanding, as were the pigs feet, tofu/pork mabo and the tofu/pork hotpot. Worth a stop if you enjoy authentic Chinese.

Very delicious and not Americanized. Portions are good but the prices are a bit high (worth it).
Beef with ginger scallion was incredible, juicy and not overly gingered.
Seafood Chow fun, was perfect. It had the the perfect level of savory to sweetness. More towards the savory side, and had many rice noodles.
There is parking in back so you don't have to drive around for parking either.

Go here and ask for the Chinese menu (dont worry it's in English as well as Chinese) that menu is amazing. Food was unreal! SO GOOD! Fast service! LOOK AT THE PICTURES!
