The food is amazing! I have been a fan since the 70’s. Take your time and settle into a beautiful meal. The dressing for the salad is amazing. Sold by the bottle! The food is authentic and delicious. The atmosphere is great. Highly recommend.

I had the most extraordinary dining experience at Khalil. Khalil's Middle Eastern cuisine is, without a doubt, the best I've ever had the pleasure of savoring. My husband and I arrived just an hour before closing on a Friday evening, expecting a rushed experience, but were pleasantly surprised from the moment we walked in. The warm welcome we received set the tone for what would become an unforgettable evening. We opted for the Mixed Grill from their Prix Fixe menu, which included a delightful array of hummus, baba ganoush, a fresh salad, an exquisite entrée, and to top it off, heavenly baklava for dessert. Each dish was a flavor explosion, and I genuinely cannot pick a favorite – they were all that exceptional. What truly elevated this dining experience, though, was the staff. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home, ensuring that our evening was nothing short of magical. Khalil is clearly a labor of love, a cherished family business that deserves all the recognition it can receive. To cap off this remarkable evening, Michael, a member of the family, joined us and serenaded us with the most beautiful songs, while telling us the fascinating history of the restaurant's beginnings. It was a personal touch that made this evening truly unique. In all honesty, I cannot recommend Khalil enough. You absolutely must experience it for yourself. It's more than just a meal; it's an enchanting journey through Middle Eastern cuisine, culture, and warmth. Khalil deserves every award out there, and I'll be eagerly returning to savor their exceptional dishes and hospitality again and again.

Friday 8/11/23 Went for Pgh Restaurant Week. The food was very good. Worth the trip. We also had two of the red wines and their sangria. Not what you find in the liquor store but VERY good. Sunday 8/13/23 went for their restaurant week brunch. This is a new offering. We don't normally do brunches (boring). This was far from boring. It was a prix fixe meal, with way more than we could eat and absolutely not boring. Very Syrian, not your typical buffet. If they continue to offer the brunch it is well worth doing.

We just left the Restaurant Week Syrian brunch — It was the most delicious, filling & interesting brunch we’ve been to in a while — full of new flavors and textures to discover. Our favorites were the ful medames, makdous and the shanklish as well as the delicious coffee to end the meal. Hoping they start doing brunch every week. The hospitality & service was fantastic as well.

Ordered a vegetarian platter as part of restaurant week, and was blown away by the diversity of options and their thoughtful preparation. Stuffed grape leaves, balanced by cheeses, dates, olives, and greens, all artfully gathered! As for the meat dishes: well cooked, well seasoned, no frills. Complemented nicely by a delicious salad (dressed with oil and za'atar, which made it delicious). Be patient with the staff --they are working hard and the food is worth the wait!! The atmosphere of this place is so lovely, and if you want to enjoy a particularly nice day, they do have a patio space!

I went here for Pittsburgh Restaurant week for the first time. The first was very tasty. Their salad was so flavorful. I ended up ordering a charcuterie board as well. The service was a little slow. It was packed for restaurant week and it looked like they only had 1-2 servers. Also they did not have ice?

They are finally reopened and things couldn't have been better!! Fresh, flavorful, and fragrant, each bite filled with savory spice, tantalizing textures, and memorable mouthfeels!! The Damascas Summer Night Martini and the Syrian Sangria are a must have too!! Our server Will was great too!! The new menu is coming soon and we look forward to eating our way through it 😋

Our dinner started with a 'welcome' from the owner and a short friendly conversation. Our waitress was wonderful and offered some drink and food recommendations. Feel free to ask them questions! Our appetizers were amazing and so fresh! Their baking skills are a highlight for sure. As are the kebab dinners (don't sleep on the rice🤤). Overall we had 0 complaints and hope to come back often!
