We first went here with my extended family of 27. They were able to seat us all together with very little notice. My grandfather had been in hospice, and this was the last time many of the family would be able to see him. The waiter was amazing, and they made it easy to forget all the other things going on in our lives. My youngest brother is autistic, and the waiter and manager made sure to get him involved in finding something he wanted to watch on the TV.
The appetizers were really good. I definitely recommend the Guinness french onion soup. They have a fairly extensive beer selection.
The second time we went was for my birthday. It was a group of 10-12. The waitress left much to be desired; there were several mix-ups. The Brussels sprouts were forgotten and then came out almost immediately, but they weren't cooked. The food was quite tasty.

Food is amazing. The service was fast, fun, and professional. There is outdoor seating, basket room, and it's very close to the river. The atmosphere is far, romantic and authenic Irish or seems so. The food specials are quite nice and though it gets busy and a little loud I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table.
Couldn't be happier. We are staying across the street at the Hyatt and decided to try Claddagh as it was supposed to rain and we didn't want to venture too far on foot. They had at least 15 beers on tap and 1/2 price appetizers during happy hour. We had a total of 6 pints and 4 apps and the bill was under $50! Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. Can't wait for our next trip to the Southside of Pittsburgh. The service at the bar was very attentive. I don't understand the bad reviews I just read. We had 2 bartenders checking on us! Great night out.
My husband and I visited this as being one of the first Irish pubs in Pittsburgh we had the pleasure to eat at. The atmosphere and decor was good. As usual, sports oriented. I heard Flogging Molly when I came in thinking this is similar to what I would hear the rest of the time I was there, but it was just a coincidence - not still ok - just disappointing. The waiter was very cordial and the service was great. Unfortunately, my Shepherd's Pie was not what I expected. It was tasty but a little too salty. However, I do suggest it. My only problem was with the parking garage down the street. That's another story I wish I could write a review for!
Went a couple of times with a friend the last few months and loved it! We grabbed an out door seat during a windy day, but that didn’t make an impact on our stay. Drinks were great, and the staff was more than friendly and accommodating. If you’re looking for a fun place with outdoor seating, come stop by!
Very good fish and chips. I also loved that they had soccer playing in the middle of the day and a group of fans were cheering on their team. I felt like I was in Ireland. My only complaint was I thought the clam chowder was average, and our bartender was a little busy (yet it wasnt that busy) and it took a while to get our check.
Awesome atmosphere & amazing food. I’ve always had a great experience.
I wish more people would share the GOOD things about this place rather than rushing to leave a bad review simply because they had to wait a little longer or because they didn’t “like” something.
Every single restaurant runs into problems and mishaps, I choose to not stress the small stuff.
But, everytime I come here including today I’m reminded how much I love the food, atmosphere & friendly service.
Absolutely love this place! Finally had good scotch eggs! Can’t wait to go back!
I went to the Claddagh tonight with my niece visiting from out of town. Our bartenders name is Cory, and he did an exceptional job. He made suggestions in regards to drinks and they were delicious. Cory is very pleasant and personable and is definitely a keeper for your restaurant. We also had appetizers they were perfect. I will definitely be returning more frequently.
The Mother's Day Brunch was wonderful! I told the reservationist that I had a severe shellfish allergy, she said it would be marked in the 'book' and she would tell the chef. When we arrived the receptionist said "you have the shellfish allergy" and also told our server, Carla, and then alerted the chef. Chef Dominique came to our table and told me what to avoid and what was safe. There was shrimp on the salad table and she said to avoid the whole area otherwise everywhere else was safe. It is very difficult to chose a restaurant, especially when they are serving cafeteria style, and not worry about having an allergic reaction. This restaurant went beyond the norm and really helped me enjoy my meal without worrying about cross contamination. I thought it was so outstanding that Chef Dominique took the time to show her concern about my problem. Our waitress, Carla, was checking on our table constantly so that we had drinks, clean utensils and quickly took away the dirty dishes. Over-all it was a wonderful brunch and the staff, from Chef Dominique, Carla and the reservationist who got the ball rolling was excellent. It made for a great Mother's Day, I would recommend this restaurant, highly!!!
