Great spot to enjoy food and drinks. The atmosphere is nice. The food is tasty. We went after a Steelers game, so it can get really crowded. I would suggest making a reservation on days that games are held in the city.
We got to sit outside on the park benches that let us look right into the kitchen. Being able to watch the kitchen work was a fun change over where we usually sit inside. As always, the food was amazing. We had the tako taco, chorizo taco, chips n salsa, and salmon poke. It was just the right amount of food for two hungry people, almost too much.... almost...
fair warning: the chorizo is a messy taco, delicious sausage and runny egg going everywhere. Order it for sure, just have that napkin ready :)
super amazing food- i mean, wow! the tacos here are just incredible. everything is so fresh and that truly makes the difference in my opinion. the staff was very friendly and accommodating, very knowledgeable about the menu.
we sat outside and the atmosphere is cozy but also chic- you’d never guess it’s right on the road.
the outdoor eatery bar they have in front of the restaurant is very cool as well, i think it offers a unique dining experience- but also in a comfortable way.
the baja tacos were my favorite by far and the spicy pineapple marg was fabulous!!! (keep in mind that it is serrano pepper- NOT jalapeños- so it’s got a liiiittle more of a kick)
the queso was ridiculously good- it was still steaming when it got to our table
highly recommend stopping by this place for some really great food :)
Interesting variations of tacos. This was a little fancy for my tastes, (I'm a pretty basic foodie), but was definitely good. They have an enclosed outdoor seating area where we were seated. Would definitely recommend this if you're going for a more relaxed dinner because I had to go in the main building to use the restroom and it was very loud n lively.
This place has a TON of tequilas to choose from (and plenty of scrumptious margaritas to try them in) but do not overlook their food menu. Even though there are only a handful of tacos on their menu, they pair pretty excellently with whatever it is you choose to drink. Try the mushroom tacos even if you're not vegetarian -- they look like pork BBQ and have the texture of fried chicken!
It is rather loud (plus we went during the holidays so they had even more colorful lighting than usual), and it can get crowded (not sure if they have seating options for larger groups) but it's a very fun atmosphere and a perfect kickstart to an evening downtown.
We sat at the bar and honestly had the best time!! The bar staff was SO much fun and super helpful in all of their recommendations. We got a bunch of drinks, the Korean tacos, the carnitas tacos, and chips and salsa. Everything was to fit for!! Just the vibe we were looking for. A reservation would be great, but not having a reservation and sitting at the bar was so much better. Just be sure to get there RIGHT when they open or you’ll be standing hovering over the bar seats!
My husband and I came here on our first night in Pittsburgh and it turned out to be a great choice! What a delight! The service was fantastic, and the food was even better! We ordered Mexican street style corn to start, and it was so creamy and delicious 🤤 and then I ordered the chicken tacos while my husband ordered the beef tacos. I wish I had ordered the beef tacos because OMG they were mouthwatering delicious 🤤🤤 We ordered the churros for dessert and again it did not disappoint. The churros are made fresh and fluffy. The caramel and spicy chocolate sauce are both wonderful additions to the already fantastic churros. I would HIGHLY recommend eating at Tako, you will be very happy you did!!!
This place is great. So happy to have it in our city. One of the bright spots of the new food scene in Pittsburgh. Every once in a while a taco won't be 5 star but most of them are and everything else about this place earns 5 stars.
Super trendy spot with excellent vibes and ambiance. There are a variety of seating options from an outdoor area right next to the kitchen, a high top zone next to the bar, and then additional seating upstairs. The service we received was excellent from a friendly host to a great time with our waiter.
In terms of food, I was very impressed with the chips and salsa, as well as the quality of tortillas. The tacos were also good, but I would have personally filled the tacos less as they began to fall apart. Drinks were tasty and strong.
I would definitely come back next time I'm in Pittsburgh.
A really great spot for some tacos! The food portions are generous and tasty. The staff are attentive and they have a good selection of Tequila available. Great for a pre-dinner snack or dinner before one of the events nearby. The Baja tacos were great! They also have outdoor seating to enjoy the good weather if need be!
