Last year was my first time using Rickey Js. My step son wanted a Thomas the Train cake and Rickey J's went beyond his expectations of a cake. He was so excited about his cake, he talked about it for days. The cake presentation was awesome and the cake it self was full of flavor and very moist. We didn't have much left after the guest ate it. I am so glad that they were able to bring to life a 5 year old's cake expectations. For my own birthday, once again I simply asked for purple cake and was extremely pleased with the results. LOVE Rickey J's and plan to return again and again
Okay let me start by saying the owner is very sweet and accomodating but she does not listen or she doesn't pay attention. I ordered a cake from here an while it was good not spectacular she did not do my child's cake the way I asked. The colors were wrong after I specifically and repeatedly told her what I wanted. My child was disappointed. The only reason I did not fuss was because the lady was very sweet. But my cake was all wrong.
Best Bakery. This is the only bakery I use. Not only are their cakes delicious but they are beautiful as well. I put out a request on Face Book for my friends in the area for their favorite bakery and this was the one 3 of my friends said I had to use. They were right. And the owners are about the nicest people you will ever meet.
Rickey J's is my new Bakery. After a last minute search of the Birmingham area bakeries including retail chain supermarket bakeries I couldn't find anyone who could make two cookie cakes in one day. I found Rickey J's online and Ms. Janice was the sweetest thing! She took care of me, helped me figure out what options were best for me and had my two Alabama Football cookie cakes ready the next morning! I have never had such great service! The cakes looked amazing and tasted even better! I will NEVER buy another cake from anywhere else!
Best Bakery in Town. Rickey J's is a small Bakery across from the Large Log Vet Office on Old Springville Road. They are open Tues. - Sat. until 5:00. I found this lovely bakery over a year ago and every time I get a chance I go by there. My favorites are the Caramel Cake, vanilla cupcakes (the icing melts in your mouth) peanut butter cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, eclairs, and I could go on and on. You can also order all types of decorated cakes and regular cakes. I suggest you go by there the next time your out and about. It is not too far off of Deerfoot Parkway.
Wonderful bakery. We have ordered a cake and cupcakes from this bakery and they are absolutely wonderful!! They are so friendly and their prices are fantastic! I would definitely recommend them for any occasion.
Yummy. My husband and I decided to try Rickey J's for our wedding 5 years ago...and it was the best cake, very beautiful and simple. Last year, we went with them for the petit fours at my baby shower, and was pleased again. They are consistently wonderful, wonderful staff, and all of their goodies are yummy!!!
Sister. Jan, at Rickey J's; makes the best cakes in town. She is truly an Angel sent from above. Her cakes are not just a presentation but they are truly excellent in taste!!!

Wow! This was my first time trying this bakery. WVTM-13 brought in delicious pastries in support of black owned businesses for the month of February and Rickey J’s Bakery started out with a bang! The Orange muffin just melted in my mouth! mmmmm 😋
If I could give 10🌟 I definitely would!! My brother always loved this little Bakery when it was located in our hometown of Clay, AL. We were both so happy to find their new location on 280! We have been purchasing their Caramel Cake for Christmas for several years now. I purchased another one this past Christmas. Moist and Delicious and ALWAYS A HIT! The owners are always a pleasure to do business with!! Locally owned and operated. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed!👍👍
Rickey J’s made the most adorable “baby shark” cake for my daughter’s birthday. The cake was absolutely beautiful and almost too pretty to eat. It was also the most delicious cake we’ve ever tried. This cake made my daughter’s birthday that much more special. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this amazing bakery. We will be using them for all of our special occasions.
Fantastic offerings. I loved the eclairs. Her cheese Danish are heavenly. Will definitely be back. As an aspiring baker, really enjoyed seeing the decor and bright ambience.

I ordered 2 dozen cookies, they were the best cookies I've ever eaten. The cookies were fresh, the flavor was excellent, the icing was a light glaze of perfection. Just the right amount of everything yummy. They were also very pretty. Wish I would have taken a picture but we ate all of them. The cake was pretty, fresh and delicious also.

This bakery is The Best in TOWN!!! I've visited this this bakery often. Mrs "J" is the sweetest person you will ever meet. The cinnamon rolls are THE BEST you will find. I have also have had several cakes made by her, and they have been DELICIOUS!! She has several types of cupcakes which are Very Good. You can't go wrong with anything from here. Lov It!!
