Bertie's captures the soda fountain we all thought was gone and brings it back - complete with blue plate specials, classic Hollywood themed desserts and sandwiches, and the neighborhood familiarity we need in today's modern world. Go here for a bite ($5 lunch!) or dessert and make your life better.
What a neighborhood treasure this is! Oldies on the radio, homemade treats that include giant cookies and cake pops and best of all, customer service that makes you feel like a family friend. They use Thrifty's ice cream as a delicious foundation for malt shakes and classic sundaes (or fun, new sundaes, aptly named after film stars from the silver screen). We can't say enough about this wonderful spot. They'll let you order a burger from the Two Hippies burger joint next door and you can eat it at the counter before indulging in one of the many treats offered for dessert. With Harkins Arcadia 8 right across the street, the "dinner" part of a "dinner and movie" date night has never been more fun. Another option is to just browse through the great vintage clothing selection and grab a cuppa o' joe at the counter. Low key casual or all the bells and whistles, Bertie's is a place my husband and I can't wait to take our friends and visiting family.
Berties has a very nice menu, friendly faces and located in a great neighborhood. On the corner 40th and Thomas. Bring your friends introduce them to a fun place for a breakfast or lunch.
I love this place. The people are warm and welcoming, the food is like home made, the desserts are scrumptious and the ambiance is authentic 50's. It's hard to see the restaurant from the road, it's right behind the pet store.
Amazing atmosphere, great staff and delicious food. Its like traveling back to the 1960's.
