Review Basilic Vietnamese Kitchen - Phoenix

I love Vietnamese food so I had to try this place. The food is good just not authentic so keep that in mind. Nonetheless, it is very flavorful, the goi cuon was really good, just wished it had more pork in them, it literally only had one small piece at the bottom. If you like your pho with tendons, this one don't come with it, just fyi. But overall, good food.

I went here out of convince near the hotel looking for something homey feeling. Basilics owner did not disappoint. The egg rolls were perfect. Perfect amounts of black mushroom with shrimp and pork. The pho was different while very good. Was wt about a 4.8 out of 5. She did encourage to try the bone marrow with it which upped the levels of flavor quite well. I would highly recommend.

A group of 5 of us went for lunch on a Saturday. The food was delicious, but the service was even better. Our server was personable and funny, gave recommendations when asked, and was quick with drink refills. It was very quiet inside, but one of the group has been there multiple times and said dinner hours are usually busy. This will be my go-to lunch spot after morning meetings in that area!

This restaurant really impressed us with the food quality, and great service as well. Fresh ingredients makes all the difference. Shaking beef was excellent, as was the House Special Fried Rice and Chicken Curry. Will def be back. Nice location across the street from Phoenix Art Museum and Phoenix Theatre Company.

Cool place, great service, family owned, wonderful people, and incredible food! We stopped by for dinner on a Sunday evening following a weekend stay in Phoenix before heading home to Tucson. We don't know the Phoenix restaurant scene well and were looking to try something new on short notice and stumbled upon this place. We are anti-Applebees types. We ordered spring rolls, Pho, shaking beef, lemongrass chicken, and fried rice. All of the dishes were spectacular! We also enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff. My family is already looking forward to coming back.

First customer to come in for a Saturday lunch. Place is clean and tidy. All tables have place settings ready. Our server is very polite and attentive. We got a complimentary shrimp chip basket (yummy) to work on while we decide what to order. The music gives the ambiance a pop vibe. The food we had is great! The pix speak volumes. The hot tea, though, could use hotter water. Oh... I got excited they have bubble tea on the menu... but they don't have any during our visit. Bummer. Will come back. They better have bubble tea! LOL

Ate here roughly 5 times and ordered take-out twice. Food here is incredible and full of flavor. I wouldn't know if it's authentic or not, however, it holds its own.

I have to admit that I’ve never been a huge fan of Vietnamese food, though Basilic Vietnamese Kitchen may have changed my mind. We started with the Crispy Shrimp Chips which are as stated. They were nice and it gave us a chance to try out the condiments on the table to see what we liked. We then moved on to the Appetizer Combination Platter. Great choice! The egg rolls were fairly standard, the Spring Rolls were quite good with the different sauces, and the Crispy Calamari was divine! They pair the Calamari with a stir fry charred mild pepper which balances out the heaviness of the fried food. I’ve never seen it served this way before and my taste buds were happy for the contrast. I had the Spicy Lemongrass Chicken. As a hardened AZ transplant I was hoping their “Spicy” description referred to a level of heat, sadly it did not. The dish was quite good in flavor but lacked any heat. My companion had the Spicy Stir Fried Beef. He said the same; good flavor, zero heat. Overall the experience was good though I would still say they are in the “soft” opening phase where they are still getting the operation to function smoothly. We’ll be back!

Ordered the Shaking Beef and it was excellent. Service was slow especially considering we stopped by for lunch and it wasn't busy. Fully expect food to take a longer time.

First time at this Pho restaurant, it’s super clean, easy access and has a great opened space parking. The best Pho and Lemon beef grass noodle by the office! I am super impressed of the taste, portion and quality of the ingredients, all on point. I was doubting about the taste when I found out the cook is not Vietnamese but was trained by a Vietnamese chef from California in the town where I used to live. I know how Pho is is supposed to taste especially from the Little Saigon town. Besides that, I grew up with 100% home cooked pho and so I am pretty much an expert at making Pho myself and all Vietnamese dishes. I didn’t taste MSG at all, the broth was perfect, not too salty nor too sweet nor dark and meat tasted fresh and sliced perfectly. The lemon grass bowl was tasty too and perfect kick of chili, not too spicy and super balanced with amount of lemon grass. We were sure happy with our choice. The owners are super friendly and fun to talk to. I definitely will be back with my friends/business partners. A great late lunch-early dinner, I spent one 1 hr there, tasting every single scoop until nothing left! What a great day when you have a great bowl of pho in conjunction with beef vermicelli! Thank you for bringing a great pho restaurant into town! I don’t need to drive to California just because of great pho restaurants like this! 🤗

I ordered Pho to go for me and my husband. Scared that is would be cold or soggy at home. Her gets the raw beef and I get shrimp so not ideal to reheat but we were happy to see they packaged everything separately. Got the flavors the add separately. Soooo bomb. Then when I picked up (5 mins after close) they were chill definitely coming back!

Customer Service was warm, welcoming, and friendly. Loved the broth of my pho. It tasted so clean but still with so much depth of flavors. The rare steak in the pho was marbled, high quality, and tasted so fresh. I liked that they offer complimentary shrimp chips as you’re seated to have with their lemongrass sauce made in-house. Prices were reasonable. Still some kinks to workout with the time it takes for food to come out of the kitchen, but will be back again to try the many other options on the menu.

I cannot begin to express how amazing this place is. The staff was just so kind. Jennifer H. was our waitress and even though she was having a tough day, she was a blessing to have. The food was outstanding. My beef pho was on point! I would not have changed anything. The Vietnamese iced coffee was out of this world. I will be coming back for more and wish I could have it everyday. Honestly, go here and get your Pho on!

The decor is cool and modern, so glad this building was taken over by this new Vietnamese restaurant. I loved how the owner explained the condiments and how to use them in their dishes; I would never have known. You can tell the ingredients are fresh by their bold flavors and bright colors. Their homemade lemongrass condiment was something I never had before that added that extra zing to anything you put it on. I'm so happy to have this restaurant so close to home. I'll be back for sure!
