This place NEVERRRRR disappoints! Thank you, Ryan, our server, and Doug, the General Manager, for taking GREAT care of us last night!
We've been fans since Salty Sow's first year in operation. They just keep fine tuning an already great running engine. Food and service is always consistently good. We typically ask for the same server when we book our reservation, but occasionally we just spontaneously show up and take the luck of the draw - and it's always been good. Last night we decided to sit on the patio for dinner because the night was cool. Service out there was spot on, and Doug, the GM came around several times to make sure all was well.
The appetizers are delicious. I highly recommend the fried green tomatoes, though the ONLY criticism I'd give is that they give you 3 on a plate - and to share there should really be 4. I've made this suggestion many times. The guacamole with it is more than enough for 4 pieces.
The pork shoulder, their beans, green chile pork, prime rib - ALL delicious and consistent. And if you make a meal of a salad, you WILL make a meal and a half with their salads.
Though often "noisy" during peak hours, I LOVE the vibe of this place. It's where we go when we have guests in town and want to treat them to a delicious meal and consistently great service.
Fabulous brunch , now my favorite place in Phoenix for dinner and Sunday brunch, The food just has the right seasoning and not overbearing.
Amber our waitress was outstanding ,even if she had to show me how to open the water bottle.
Stop in give them a try , well worth it!
Nice atmosphere. Brittany, our waitperson was excellent. Food and drinks were tasty. Only quibble is the duck fat fries were not warm and somewhat stale. The busser said they would bring fresh ones. Our wait person returned a few minutes later and said they were fresh from the fryer. They weren't, they were warmed up under the salamander and 5 minutes later we're cool and stale like the first order. Bad decision from the kitchen. Otherwise, very good food, appetizers (deviled eggs are to die for) and great ambiance. Overall, recommended. We'll be back. As I said Brittany was great!
Food and service always great. Very clean. We get a bunch of appetizers and then try to eat our entrees and can never eat them all! Good thing this place isn't close to us or we would be broke and fat ha.
Excellent place for dinner with great ambience and service to make it a perfect location for a date night or a family get together. There is a walmart right behind the lot and hence parking spots are plentyeven if you do not find one right next to the entrance. The service is a standout with our waitress 'Amber' ensuring that we were well attended on a busy Friday evening. Reservation is recommended considering weekends can get a bit busy here. Don't miss out on their signature cocktails! We ordered the chefs vegetable platter and chicken thighs with mashed potatoes; bith were super yummy. They have a great choice of desserts as well; we had the Banana Foster Beignets and it was mouth watering with the vanilla ice cream. Overall a great restaurant and must visit around this area!
TLDR version: It's a little expensive and the servings are a bit on the smaller side. But the food and drinks are worth the cost in their flavor.
The restaurant was fairly loud, but it's too be expected at restaurant on a Friday evening. We made reservations, but arrived early and we were sat before the reservation time. The restaurant was very clean and well decorated and in a nice area.
The chorizo stuffed mushrooms (see picture) had excellent flavor and were delivered quickly.
Their beer selection is kind of small, but they have a very interesting, albeit expensive, cocktails list it's with a try though.
The pork belly (see pictures) was very tender and cooked perfectly it managed to be juicy and flavorful, while the outside remained crispy, the stone ground white corn cheese grits it came with was remarkably tasty.
The swordfish grilled cheese (see picture) was more of a Grilled Swordfish Sandwich with a little cheese. Not that it wasn't very tasty but just know that it won't be as cheesy as a grilled cheese anything should be.
We were still hungry despite an appetizer and the main course, so we enjoyed the fried bananas and the chocolate cake and the bananas were the highlight of everything, definitely try those. The chocolate cake was a little too thick for our preference but still very good.
Overall, it's a little expensive and the servings are a bit on the smaller side. But the food and drinks are worth the cost in their flavor.
Casual place with an upscale feel. Menu is all on one page which allow them to perfect what they offer. Had the stack of pork chops, which literally was a stack of three. Very tasty.
Fun and delicious! My friend invited me here so that was my first time going there. I like the atmosphere and also the food was good. I tried the beef shoulder which was very tasty. We also tried the duck french fries and I would say that they were good but nothing extraordinary. Overall I would recommend this place if you like to dine and enjoy a little ambiance as well.
Food is great, very good service and live music. Their take on an Old Fashioned was unique with a bit of a bite. The special the day I was there was a 8oz country fried ribeye.
Took my parents here and they loved it. Service was very good. We had a glass crash on the table and wasn't sure if it got in our appetizers. Our server took all 3 back and got new ones rushed out to us
Tasty but pricey. Good portions. Beautiful presentation. Excellent service. Great for a date or special night out.
A fun combination of heavier and lighter meals. We had six of us, and there was something fabulous for everyone. As well, the terrific staff helped to make this a true five star experience.
