We will return here often. The menu listed a four course meal for under $35. We got six courses and each was wonderful!

The area is undergoing a renaissance so don't be put off as you drive down Girard Avenue. This place is a delightful find.

Had reservations at 915 pm on a Saturday night. My husband and I showed up at 906 pm and were told by the female hostess that it would be a few minutes before she could seat us and that we could go wait outside... Like we were somehow invading her space and taking up room in the empty forum in front of the restaurant. Like I want to wait outside on the street corner when it's now 930 and we still haven't been seated? I think if she was more cordial about it I wouldn't be pissed right now but customer service and hospitality go a long way. If I make reservations for 2 at 915 that's when I expect to be seated and not standing on the corner. If the food and remaining service is impeccable I will update my review.

Modo Mio has consistently given me some of threat meals of my life. Innovative, varied, and delicious, this lite BYOB is easy to walk right by if you're not looking for it. I recommend it I everyone. If you don't like this food, you either have no taste, or you're so stuck in snobbery that you won't allow the creativity of the menu to lodge itself firmly into your memory bank. I recommend this place to others on a regular basis.

I'd call it a hidden gem but you should know about this place by now. For the value there is not a better restaurant in this city or country I can think of. If it's on the menu get the lasagna with egg on top. You can thank me later.

Outstanding. Now, I admittedly don't eat out all that often, so my sample size is fairly small, but this was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The Menu Turista (tasting menu) is the way to go. The portions aren't very large, but they are perfect for multiple courses- you'll be pleasantly full at the end of the meal, but not uncomfortable. In addition, the wait staff was wonderful. Always attentive but not intrusive. If you have any doubts about going to Modo Mio, you shouldn't! It's a great choice for an excellent night out.

Best Italian Restaurant NOT in Italy. For those whose experiences were not great, I feel sorry for them, because this has been a consistently outstanding Italian restaurant. It is the best restaurant we've eaten in outside of Italy - really. The food is inventive and always delicious, so much so that we can recall the flavors of just about everything we've ever had there. The service is outstanding and the bread is remarkable (too bad they don't sell it). What it lacks in local ambiance (working-class neighborhood), it makes up for in every other way.

Very small dinning room and reservations are a MUST. With food this good take no chances. Smaller portions but outstanding food and service.

Love Modo Mio. I tried Modo Mio for the first time with a couple of friends and we all loved it. I suggest doing the $33, 4 course dinner and bringing a nice bottle of wine. This restaurant definitely is one more addition to the area that is making Northern Liberties a prime destination spot for dining...
I particularly loved the Raviolo..

Hidden Jem. This place reminds of Vetri's cousin. The food is sublime, and delicate and the prices are unexpectedly excellent. I love the 4 courses for $35 and also break out some nice bottles to bring there since it is a BYO. The neighbor is not that great, so it is really a destination rather than discovering it on a night out. Will go back again and again - only negative is that there is no reservation system which is annoying that you have to either wait or go for the early bird special.

A hidden gem. I went there a months ago and had one of the best meals I had in philly. They have a really good deal for $33 a person for 4 courses with the portion size not being to small or big. They have the best mussel's I've ever had. Top 10 BYO's in Philly without a doubt.

Definitely one of our favorites hands down!! The food and service are incredible. Chef Peter is always accommodating of food allergies/diet preferences. Everything is fresh and homemade with the best ingredients. I also love that the menu changes seasonally so you can always try something different. You must go here!!

Stopped in for Sunday brunch with our kids today and had a wonderful experience. Service was thoughtful and attentive - the chef even stopped by to say hello :) The brunch buffet and antipasti we had were all delicious. Solid drinks from the bar. The space is bright, cozy and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

I was pleasently surprised. We tried calamari with zucchini, but it was not just appetizer but a dish with variaty of flavor (lemon, spices, herbs). We also tried matriciana and trout and desserts. Everything was delicious. All personnel was super friendly and great. They have several seating outside for when the weather is nice. Street is not too crowded so we had a great experience and it's in the neighborhood. Will be definitely coming again

Amazing food and atmosphere. Great, responsive and caring staff serving up a wonderful mix of decadent and delicious food clearly prepared with love. The Shut up and Eat special between 9-10pm is not to be missed. The lasagna with a fried egg on top was certainly something special

Went here on a hot Sunday on a whim- and so glad we did! We went with their 3 course brunch deal (app, entree and dessert) for $30 which was a great deal. Served a delicious amuse bouch of endive with Gorgonzola and fig jam (yum!) and some delicious bread with olive oil and a touch of ricotta. For apps the table got the burrata and peach salad, calamari and fried artichoke. All excellent! Entrees we got the shakshuka, eggs basildict (play on Benedict with sausage, provolone and basil crema) and the fried mortadella sandwich. All very tasty and large portions. We were so stuffed by dessert we took them to go and the flourless chocolate cake was excellent! Our waiter was lovely and the place has great neighborhood vibes- can't wait to come back.

If I could rate 10 stars I would! Chef's food is absolutely amazing, Jen is one of the most welcoming people I have ever met (her espresso martinis are to die for), and the ambiance brings the entire atmosphere together! A hidden gem and on my top 3 lists of best places to dine at in Philly.

An absolute wonderful evening and dinner with my son. We are visiting from Portland, OR and stumbled upon this place. It was by far the best service, food and dinning experience I've had in years! Our server was top-notch and made fantastic food recommendations. It was really nice to treat my kiddo to his first fancy dinner! Thank you.

Wow. We were so impressed with the quality and taste of the food and the service. We got the artichoke and beets, plus some vino. Can’t recommend this spot enough.

The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. When we walked in - the ambience was quite nice but what we got was far better than we could’ve hoped. Our service was great, every course was delicious, and the wine selection was nice as well. I will be back and soon.
