FSS is a must-try if you’re into the Philly food scene. It is quite a price tag and the majority of that cost is going to the culinary technique; the presentations are on the simpler end and there aren’t extreme exotically, innovative combinations. The food is overall exceptional though. The ambiance is nice but it was just a tad too damn dark!

I finally made it to FSS this year and this was before they won the James Beard Award! I was so happy they won…Well Deserved! I was there to celebrate my birthday and now I am spoiled..it was an OUTSTANDING experience! The Ambiance..The Service…The Music Playlist…ALL STELLAR! FSS is an absolute VIBE! The food is NEXT LEVEL AND ELEVATED! Tasting Menu…The course range from: 1-3 bites…mouthwatering in anticipation of the next course! Our waiter was attentive and provided great insight and feedback on each course! My favs: 1. Lamb 2. Fish 3. Quail 4. Confit Artichokes! I didn’t select the wine pairing…but I will next time…I know it will further elevate the experience! Note: The meal is paid in advance…although pricey…well worth it!

The best meal of my entire life. Definitely for special occasions but we celebrated our engagement here and they gave us so many goodies! I also have kind of weird food restrictions and they made changes to the menu around it which were incredible:)

How could you give a freshly awarded James Beard winner anything less than 5 stars? They lived up to the hype in every way! The atmosphere is great, and it isn't too noisy during a full house. The service was excellent from the hostess whom greeted and seated us to the multiple wait staff whom waited on us. They nailed the timing between each dish as we ate from the tasting menu. Operationally the restaurant runs on point. Kudos to the entire staff. I don't eat any beef and they substituted with amazing options that were still complimentary to the original dish. Every dish was full of multiple very complimentary flavors. Nothing was bland. I usually don't eat liver but the liver pate complimented the quail so well. I didn't know I could love liver. Thats why I always say you have to try everything. You never know when it will be prepared in a way that you'll love! I wanted a drink they didn't have the items for so the bartender made me an 'as close to as possible' option at their creativity and it introduced me to something entirely new to my taste buds & food knowledge. They also served us a couple of small bites that weren't on the menu. They were amazing! I loved everything about this place! Almost made me want to work as a chef again. FYI: You can come in to sit at and eat from the bar menu which has a lot of excellent options. It opens at 4:30pm I believe and is first come first served.

Philadelphia Magazine rates this as the best restaurant in the city. After waiting for 2 months for the day of our reservation to arrive, maybe our expectations were too high! Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of great things to say. Service was excellent! The seating was very good; no feeling of being crammed into a small space and everything was tastefully decorated. There were some great highlights. Starting with the crudo which had a mixture of great flavors with the caviar, the tuna, and the crustiness of the “cracker”. I could have eaten 10 of these!! The cod with the peas, leek, and coconut was also crazy good with a creamy texture that made it really inviting. Finally, the bay leaf semifreddo was a perfect ending with the bay leaf adding an unusual flavor to what is often an overly sweet dessert. But that is 3 stand outs in a tasting menu of 8. The rest (tomato, beet, sweetbreads, quail, and New York strip) were all good but didn’t reach the same heights. We also learned that the tasting menu price has risen from the $155 we pre-paid to $165 for future dining (not including drinks). I was hoping for more home runs at these prices, but still was a great night out!!!

Heard a lot about this place, and it exceeded expectations. Food was very interesting and was perfectly cooked and presented. The small elements of texture, smoke, and other neuances really enhanced the entire experience. It was one of my favorite meals of my life, and that includes 3 star Michelin restaurants form NYC and Tokyo. Can't not recommend this enough. The day I was there they had white truffle from Australia... I had to get it with the dishes. It was all so decadent. Good drinks too! Good wine selection (and I'm a wino).

This was beyond delicious. Just the right amount of food. Relaxed, genuine service. Great cocktails, wine, and food. It's not easy to delight at this price point, but F, S, S easily pulls it off. I couldn't recommend a meal here more highly.
