Review Yums Chinese Restaurant - Pensacola

Spring rolls were crunchy and tasty. Rice was fluffy. The steamed pork buns tasted like a dream! I'll be thinking about those dumplings for a long time. A must- go and new favorite restaurant.

Takeout was so cheap for lunch! Everything was delicious. I wish it was spicier. Got exactly what we ordered. The lunch special is $5.75 and it comes with a drink. This place is a guilty pleasure and we have always enjoyed the food. Take out and fast service.

It's great. Pork buns are phenomenal. I've eaten here since I was a kid. That's probably why I turned out so well.

The food was amazing and prepared very quickly. We arrived around one of their rush times and they got each person's food out in about 5-7 minutes. The restaurant has a very small dining area so I don't recommend going for a sit-down meal but they are perfect for take out. The meals we got were the luncheon special which is 5 dollars and some change for a meal with a can of soda. I highly recommend checking them out.

Great Chinese food and the lunch specials are insane! Under $8 for lunch and General Tso's chicken is super! I would not recommend Yums for dinning in as there are only 2 tables, It is only for take out. People waiting for their orders are usually the only ones sitting at the tables.

My first time at Yums. I ordered the spring rolls. These were delicious. I could tell by the way it was wrapped and the wrapper that it was going to be light and crunchy. The flavor was perfect. Cooked in good oil. I will definitely go back again.

Lunch combo includes a can of soda and an entree for less than $6! Pictured is general Tso’s chicken. Good amount. Fits into the fast Chinese food genre perfectly.

I ordered the lunch portion of orange chicken and fried rice. It was a LOT of food. Orange chicken and fried rice were both great. I have also tried the General Tso's chicken. It's amazing, and is served with broccoli and fried rice.

Great food at a great price! Have been looking for good Chinese food in Pensacola and the food here was much fresher/ tastier than any chain I’ve been to in the area. I will definitely go back and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal.

The pork fried rice was extremely lacking. The pork lo mein was really good! The steamed buns were really good as well. I will come back to try something else. The gentleman running the place was nice.

Yums has been my go to Chinese takeout in Pensacola for years. Always delicious.

My family and I have been ordering from Yums since around 2007 and have NEVER had a bad meal. I'm literally not exaggerating; this is the single most reliable resturaunt we've ever tried in Pensacola. The food is always amazing and always tastes fresh, and the amount of food you get will last you several nights. It's been such a common presence in my life since I was a kid that I've never thought to write a review until I curiously took a look at how it was rated. I feel like it's way lower than it deserves. Not only that, but they're very fast and you'll never have to wait very long for your food.

There wasnt even an onion in my rice, the rice was hard. And the wings seemed old as to they were hard. Friendly guy in front. But i didn't like it😑

Called to order delivery and the very polite person that was answering the phone told me it was a $15 minimum for delivery. After I pick out and order my family's meal I hear the manager yelling, at the person answering, that the minimum was actually $20. My order was $1.50 short. <br/><br/>I understand now that that is their policy, but I was told $15 and the manager would not work with me. The real reason I'm leaving a one star review is because I heard the way the owner / manager spoke to their employee which turned out to be brand new! They had only been working there for 2 hours! Then I hear the manager continuing to yell at the brand new employee! I sure hate to hear people treating their employees so badly. <br/><br/>Good luck to the new employee! Hope you get a job soon that understands that new people make mistakes and that you can be respectful toward them instead of treating them like dirt. <br/><br/>I won't be ordering from Yums anymore.

I NEVER try random Chinese food. Someone usually tells me about a Chinese restaurant and then I'll check it out. I should have stuck with that...I went to Yums Chinese Restaurant today for the 1st time and was truly disappointed. When I walked in the man working the register was preparing food and the phone rang. At that point he washed his hands to answer the phone and take an order. Once he finished he took my card and finished my transaction. He then returned to preparing food WITHOUT washing his hands. I got the honey chicken and it has to be the worst that I've ever had. This was my first and last trip to Yums!😝

Truly terrible food. I ordered the orange beef, which was absolutely awful and had the consistency of plastic. I had to chew it so long that it made my jaws hurt. Never again will I order food from this place. If I could rate it lower than a "1" I would.

Got the sesame chicken absolutely horrible no chicken and any of the chunks full of fat and better rice was horrible I don't understand how I pay $12 for this

Chicken With Cashew Nuts. Best cashew chicken around! I always get 3 orders of extra cashews on top and they never get mad haha so yummy I'm gonna have it for dinner tonight with my mom !

Not impressed... I'm very picky on what I eat. The first time I order the food was not bad. but yesterday when I order the chicken and mushroom it smell like urine/ammonia. when I called back to tell them about my order the man was very rude and kept telling me not to eat it not to eat it. so he came to pick up the food I'm not sure what to do with it but some y'all probably eat it today

Bad food and customer service. They dot give you what the Manu has on it. I talk to the power and he said she makes it like that, " not to much just a little bit." I had one piece of pork in my rice and no onions. He said if I can bring it back tonight he will give money back. This will be my last time eating here. Bourbon chicken had no sauce.yum does bad business

Gave it 2 chances. Months apart NEVER GOING BACK. This restaurant is horrible. 1st time I ate their food when someone picked it up and it was terrible. The 2nd time I went in thinking that the other time was just a bad day and a bad dish plus the person with me really wanted Chinese food and this was close. Well the place is a hole in the wall. I wanted take out. They had a buffet up I wanted that. The girl told me I could get the buffet and gave me a takeout container as I was looking a man(I think owner) yelled at me that the buffet was over then yelled at the girl for giving me the container. So I went back to the front to look at the menu where the person I came in with was and they had put in their order already. When the man realized we were together he gave me back the to go container and told me to get the buffet and by that time they had taken away most of the food, but what I wanted was still there. I asked the girl where the lo-mein was. If they didn't have any on the buffet I was going to order some. She pointed to some noodles. I said that's not lo-mein maybe it's chow mein (which I don't eat so not really sure what it looks like). She said no that's it. I said that not the right noodles. She said well I don't know if they are right or not, but they use spaghetti noodles for both. She was a young American so she probably didn't know what lo-mein noodles looked like. She did know they used Spaghetti! The guy did yell at her for talking to me. I felt sorry for her. The food was horrible and I ended up not even eating it. I will not go there again! Don't waste your money.

We love this small restaurant!. I do not always understand the cashier but my friend and I have been dining there for years. The food is authentic and the price is very reasonable. I did not know that they would deliver. We usually pick up our order but, we have dined there. We will most definitely be going back again. I do not know how the chicken & mixed vegetables are cooked, only it is delicious! You can watch them cook it in the woks. We like the lunch specials $5.00 including drink.

Rude. I tried to place a delivery order and the guy yelled at me because I couldn't understand what he was saying.

Well this service and food is the worst. They employees and owner act as if they don't have a care in the world as if nothing could ever happen to them as far as their job. Me and my fiancé ordered a bourbon chicken dinner on Sunday April 3. We placed our orders and went to the car to wait, my fiancée goes in to get his, he comes back out and looks at it like what is this. He tastes it and it is disgusting. It looks like barbecue chicken and it tasted like some really nasty chicken with some bad barbecue sauce on it. So he takes the dinner back inside and tells the owner he didn't want it. He just wanted to exchange it. The owner argued with him back and forth telling him it was bourbon chicken when we knew better, we knew that's not what it was and that we couldn't change it out. The owner finally says ok we can change it out. Once my fiancée tells him what he wants and I was still deciding on what I wanted the owner becomes impatient and rushes him with an attitude so my fiancé then became really angry and just told the so called owner to cancel it and give us our money back. This business really should be shut down. The are extremely rude with bad tasting food. Two disasters that do not mix. I am a manager at a restaurant myself so I know all about customer satisfaction and this company does not have it nor do they care if their customers are satisfied or not. The customers are always right!!! Whatever happen to that yums?? They just simply do not care! They will never see me in their again and I am tweeting this as well as putting it on facebook. I also will be contacting the corporate office as soon as possible. Thumbs down!!!!!!!!!!!

Great place to eat - dine in or take out. Everything they serve is delicious! <br/>do not pay any attention to the negative comments here, they must have gotten a fluke order or something - i've been eating here for years ... never had a bad order ... the owners are not american but they are not rude ...

Horrible Customer Service. HORRIBLE service. Went in placed order for spring rolls and sweet & sour sauce. The owner (Chinese Guy) stated it came with S&S did I want another. I said no. Order up, I told the White Guy, my S&S was missing. He calls to the Chinese Guy, and asked did he tell me that. Chinese Guy. comes up and proceeds to argue with me saying he didn't tell me that, and why would he tell me that. My coworker, said to him, Sir, you did tell her it came with S&S sauce. I told him, I would pay, and pulled out my card. Chinese Guy said he couldn't take my card, had to be a $5 minimum. I'm done I will NEVER!!! go there again, and will put them on blast every chance I get.

Disgusting - I am infatuated with any Asian takeout food regardless of quality, however, this tested all limits. Perhaps I merely had a bad timing for what I ate was either uncooked, swimming in grease, tasteless, grisly and just overall unpleasant. As even further insult to my taste buds the man cooking was also smoking, even that though would have been okay had the food been digestable.

Don't bother. The food tasted old with zero other flavor. I guess you are getting what you pay for but ill certainly pass next time.

Yum's is OK, but not the best in this town where a truly good restaurant is practically nonexistent. The food is kind of greasy, heavy on the stomach, and the rice is reminiscent of Minute Rice. Bleh.

Terrible food and service. Not recommended. You get what you pay for as it is a bargain price! I had an order for delivery and was quoted 45-50 mins and it arrived 1 hour 25 mins later, everything was cold, drinks where hot, and i was missing my appetizer order of wontons. Also the delivery driver was very unprofessional looking and unsanitary to be seen and when i questioned him he basically said i don't care call the restaurant. When i did i was placed on hold after telling the person whom answered while he yelled at people in the background and was told they could bring them out 45-50 mins again. I wanted a refund on my wontons only and was told no. Will NOT do business with them again. Poor customer service, poor food, and unprofessional employees. No thanks. Eater beware....

LONG WAIT. The food is okay, but the service is horrible. They make a completion promise and miss it by 30-45 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!

This used to be my favorite place. Something special, but as the months have gone by its gotten bad. From the rude guy at the counter who seems displeased to be there to the increasingly dirty surroundings. This last time I got the general's chicken and steamed dumplings. I arrived after the twelve minutes I was told and got to watch my order being made. My dumplings were boiled over much, and were soggy and disgusting. Not steamed at all. The general's chicken? I watchen him spoon sauce from a disgusting old coffee can. The rice had no anything in it but tiny little hard pieces of what I think was pork, and was undercooked. So disappointed, but the sauce was so sweet and cloying that I just can't. Sorry yums.... I won't be back.

Seems like the food has gone somewhat downhill in quality. The last two times my wife and I have eaten here the fried rice was not cooked long enough. The rice grains were still semi firm when it should've been soft. The meal was good otherwise.<br/><br/>Also, the staff was rude and unprofessional. We had to wait some time to place our order because the guy at the counter was busy answering multiple phones with call-in orders. He would get frustrated between each cal and yell obscenities in front of the customers.<br/><br/>We will definitely give second thought before going back to Yums.

This is the best place in town for take out. I always get the sesame chicken and vegetable lo main and they never disappoint. Their food is always fresh and has great flavor. Unlike other places, their lo main is not dry at all and had plenty of flavor. Vegetables are always cooked perfectly. As for the inside, it looks quite shabby and has a dirty feel to it. The kitchen is very clean, but the dine in area is not so much. This is definitely not an eat in restaurant. Cheese won tons are the best I've ever had, always fresh out of the fryer. Would certainly recommend to others.

Gross! Not worth $25. Honey Chicken was not honey. It was fried chicken with a watery sugar sauce, and it was cold. Rice is just plain yellow rice. Bad service, nasty food. Food came in an old cardboard box. This review doesn't do my experience justice. I will never order from this place again! Do NOT eat here!!!

I miss Yums. This place is very very good and the prices are very good. I only wish they were not in pensacola where some bad places exisit and in perhaps texas, a san antonio location would be good. I am glad business seems to be doing good. I enjoyed the sesame chicken and beef and broccoli the most, one day I may go back just to go to yums

We eat here often!. I really like Yums, have been eating there for 5 years. The spring rolls are the best I have ever had. The general tofu is the best vegetarian chinese dish in town! Always, great exp here.

Really Substandard!. Wow! Where to begin; the Sesame Chicken was stale old chicken pieces in a soggy batter, drowning in a sickeningly sweet sauce. The Broccoli with Garlic was so tough that it was impossible to eat. We think that it had been sauteed several times to get that tough and stringy. Everything we ordered seemed to be soaked in the same overly sweet sauce. There was no difference in flavor between the Kung Pao chicken and the Sesame chicken. Why do so many Pensacola Chinese restaurants get away with serving really stale and sub par foods"

Not good Chinese. I listed too a couple of people talke about this real good chinese restaurant Yums,, The only think good about there food is there NAME... This is not fresh food pre cook or day old, the broccoli was not edible old was going to be garlic but was some brown sweet sauce that was not good, had chicken was old or was pre cook. I have been all over the world and this was the worst chinese food i have every had... Even there rice was not good over cook like one big rock/// every thing had this sweet brown sauce even the garlice broccoli,,, save you money an avoid this restaurant and not clean at cooks with no hair net and in street clothes and not clean the floor was a mess and the delivery person came in to pick up orders and did not wash his hands after come in and was touching food so was the owen,, got off the phone took this hand pick upn some chicken and put in the fryer and whip his hand on this pants... too much for me took my food and left never to return....

Yummy!. This place is great! The staff is friendly, the food is fantastic, and the prices are CHEAP! My go-to dish is the roasted duck on rice. The way Yums cooks the duck makes it more tender and less overpowering than other places I've eaten it. I would recommend Yums for anybody looking for a fast, cheap, and high quality chinese meal.

I almost always eat my Chinese dinners at Yums. They make fantastic cheese won tons and always give extra egg rolls or donuts with your purchase. Huge portions and great taste with great prices. Highly recommended!

Our favorite in Pensacola. For years we ordered takeout from No. 1 Chinese, but after ordering from Yum's one evening because No. 1 was closed, No. 1 is now No. 2. Delicious soups and the curry is superb. The first reviewer either didn't eat at Yum's or they just happen to eat there when Yum wasn't doing the cooking. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Didn't like it. Food oily, rice dry. Dumplings are bad- the dough is too think. I guess for the price it is ok. But I wouldn't recommend it.

Yum's is yummy. My family (husband, four children) and I have repeatedly ordered from here and have never been disappointed. We order a variety of items, trying something new each time, and never have regretted it. We have yet to find another place that works so well with our very busy schedules and our price range. The hospitality is pleasant, and we feel honored to have such a place in our neighborhood.

Nasty!!!!!. I ordered for the first time 35 dollars worth of food...The rice tasted sour ,and like it was sitting in oil all night..everything tasted this way ..It was by far the worst chinese food i have ever tasted, and i have lived in 20 different states ,and never have i ever had a problem with chinese food... I reccommend you never eat here if you want the special taste of chinese food...

Great food!. I really like their food, but I just recently had their sushi and was very impressed on the quality of the salmon. Will definitley be getting it again. If you like sushi, you should definitely try theirs!

One of the best chinese take out in Pensacola! Their cream cheese wonton and general tso's chicken is amazing!

Not much of a dining room (3 tables) but some seriously good take-out. Portion sizes are generous. Good stuff!
