My friend John has been seeing posts from Voodoo on Facebook for a while now but hasn’t been able to get to the restaurant. We went about a week ago and had the best experience ever! This is a family owned business (it is a franchise out of New Orleans though), and in my opinion one of the best family owned businesses in the area. The owners daughter was the cashier and some of the other children worked in the kitchen. We asked her who handled the Facebook page (since it was excellently handled) and she proudly said it was her Mom. Her mom happened to come in a few minutes later and we had the pleasure of meeting her. Although I know she was busy she took a lot of time to talk to us and was one of the most pleasant people I have met in a long time. She saw that we did not have dessert yet and treated us to the bread pudding and beneighs (sp?). My friend and I have eaten out a lot but we have never had bread pudding or beneighs (sp?) this good before, even in New Orleans! Voodoo is hidden in the shopping center near the corner of University and Nine Mile Rd and is one of the hidden treasures us Pensacola. I had the ribs, sweet potato soufflé and corn pudding and my friend had the grilled chicken, red beans and rice and potato salad. The owner recommended the jambalaya and the most incredible corn bread comes with every meal. Come give Voodoo a try you will definitely not regret it!

Don’t go! Stay far away! If you eat there, then they might run out of pulled pork or brisket and I dont think i can handle that! 😁 seriously though, the red beans and rice had some of the best smoked sausage I have ever had. The pulled chicken on french bread was awesome! The people, ambience, and food are all worth the visit. Just realize if you go late, some meats may be sold out.

I was in Pensacola Florida after many years and my friends helped me revisit my old favorite places and some newly opened local favorites. One such place was VooDoo BBQ. I love BBQ and Cajun food and expectations set did not disappoint. I ordered the graveyard platter with brisket and chicken. I also tasted the chicken salad and BBQ shrimp and loved them. Glad I discovered this restaurant and looking forward to my next visit.

Honestly everything was really good. The chopped brisket and pulled pork melt in your mouth, the chicken is moist, and the sausage is also spot on. The sides and desserts are also fantastic. Also the service was fantastic as well.

We went by on Saturday to try the Gobbler Sandwich. It was great! The best thing, though, was the young guy behind the counter. He looked like he was about 12 years old but he was professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. We asked for a packet of mayo and a waitress said "we're out" but the young guy said "wait..." and he turned to the guy manning the cooking station and said "give them a small cup of that spicy mayo..." it's those little things people appreciate. This guy might look like he's 12, but he's in charge and is a good guy.

Had to come out and taste test this place. Especially since the roomy was down for getting me a bday meal. Picked up the shrimp poboy, brisket poboy, red beans n rice, gumbo, and jambalaya. Got to say the brisket poboy and red beans n rice is pretty on point. 5 stars The shrimp poboy was pretty good. 4/5 The rest is eh.... Got to top my gumbo and jambalaya to make me raise an eyebrow. It's good mind you, but not as good as mine and that's the only reason it's getting knocked down. 2/5 Would still come back to try the rest of the menu.

We enjoyed a late lunch on Saturday. Usually I get the fried shrimp poboy and it's a meal and half for me. This time I went for the shrimp tater. It was good, although next time I may ask for the shrimp blackened. I asked for the bbq butter, and it was pretty much just plain. We also had the 2 meat combo platter aka "Graveyard platter" with pulled pork and ribs. Both meats were tender and delicious, especially with the Mango Crystal bbq sauce. I usually prefer the greens or the corn pudding. For the two sides we had sweet potato and baked beans. Nothing special but tasty. For dessert we tried the beignets. They were a little under fried but served hot and covered in powdered sugar. All in all a good meal to fill us up before our Target run.

Red beans and rice were amazing! Really flavorful. Pulled pork was dry but still tasty. The cashier/waitress was kind and helpful as well as a man in BOH who helped answer a few questions we had. I was impressed with the portion size, especially for the price. My family left FULL. The music was too loud for me, but that’s neither here nor there. Will definitely be back. (And I’m already trying to find an excuse to get a gallon of the red beans and rice!)

We ordered here for pick up using the link on google maps. When we arrived they had no order. So don’t use the google ordering link here. I’ve had mixed success using that. At any rate we ordered take out at the counter, somewhat aggravated. Surprisingly our order for four was ready in less than 10 minutes. No complaints against Voodoo. The food was great and had huge servings. Arrive hungry. The atmosphere is cool and service was good. We will definitely be back. Urban Cowgill

Every single item on the menu is amazing! Soooooo fresh and tasty and a great value. The side sampler is great if you can’t decide. I highly recommend it all but the bbq shrimp is my favorite. The staff is so helpful and nice. We go at least twice every time we visit the area.

Love love love! ..If you are looking for a spot that has a welcoming atmosphere with down home cooking AND is family friendly, Oh this is the one! The vibe is always on point, the food is great, and the staff is absolutely amazing. With a variety of choices, even the pickiest eaters will not be disappointed. Grab a table, a booth, or window seat and eat up because it is also affordable honey!
