First of all, they had chicken and dumplings on the menu! That is my favorite southern dish but we went there specifically for raw oysters! It's on the water and very laid back environment even though we were getting some looks from the senior citizens dining there...other than that this place is great.
The Marina is awesome. The fried mullet is one of my favorites, and the gumbo is about as good as you can get. My wife loves to get the oysters on a half shell from Pensacola Oyster Co. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. Highly recommend!
Freshly shucked oysters steamed and raw. Great service. Try the Rockefeller oysters and the Crazy Genes Supreme Steamed Oysters. Greatness. Great Cole slaw! Also tasty breading their fried shrimp!
We really enjoyed the Oyster Barn. The food was good and the atmosphere is definitely down home Florida. No linen table cloths here but a very cool place.
It was my first visit here. Unfortunately, I hate it took me so long to find it. I had fried catfish, fried okra and cheese grits. It was done just right. We had 8 people in our party and we were seated quickly. The weekends, I hear, get busy but it will be worth the wait. It is located in a small marina so parking can be limited but be patient. This food is worth it. The setting is beautiful and the service friendly. The menu will not disappoint you and you will leave happy with your dining selection.
Great food! Perfect atmosphere and fantastic service! It's a great place to go when in Pensacola. Fresh mullet and cheese grits were delish!! (vole slaw was different from what we are used to) Sara, our waitress, was super. Everyone there is friendly!
Took the wife out to eat. She ordered 1/2 dozen oysters on half shell for her appetizer and grilled shrimp with two sides for her main course. The food was excellent and service was also. We enjoy eating here and recommend it to our friends.
A small family run restaurant right on (over) the bayou. Delicious fresh local oysters and shrimp and their catch if the day is always delicious. Their cheese grits are great and their fried okra is very good. A couple of good local beers. It's a small place so service can can be slow since your oysters are shucked to order.
Best seafood we have had in Pensacola area in some time.
Had a dozen raw, seafood gumbo, mullet lunch and shrimp/crab claw dinner.
All were outstanding.
Service prompt and friendly.
Value is excellent.
Ambiance cute and casual.
Went with a small group of family. The wait staff was friendly and courteous. Drinks arrived shortly after ordering and food was delivered to our table quickly. We had an assortment of options and everyone was pleased with the taste and portions. Highly recommended this place for a small "off the beaten path" dining option.
