Top of the breakfast - brunch list.
Absolute must try or try again and would recommend to anyone that this place is worth a visit.
Had lunch there on Thursday. Had a boozed ice coffee and the big bacon burger, both were great the bacon is awesome. My waitress Alicia was very friendly and her recommendations were very helpful. Definitely worth trying if you’ve never been and your in the Pensacola area.
One of the best brunches I ever had. Great service, great food, great drinks! I had the One Tomato, Two Tomato Eggs Benedict, Citrus Mimosa, the Mimosa flight. I like the citrus mimosa best. Everything came out fast and fresh.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Ruby Slipper in downtown Pensacola and I must say, it was a delightful experience. Despite a slight wait, the restaurant went above and beyond to ensure our comfort by providing us with a device that allowed us to explore the area while waiting. This thoughtful gesture made the wait much more enjoyable.
Our server, Jules, deserves special recognition for her exceptional service. She was incredibly attentive and promptly fulfilled any request we had. Whether it was extra napkins, hot sauce, or additional creamers for our coffee, Jules brought them to our table with remarkable speed. Her attentiveness truly enhanced our dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food. My wife and I decided to split an appetizer of pig candy bacon bites, and they were absolutely fantastic. The combination of sweet and savory flavors was a true delight. As someone who typically avoids sweet breakfast options, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try the Sweet Heat Chicken & French Toast Bites. Let me tell you, they were beyond amazing. The perfect balance of sweetness and heat made them an instant favorite, and I can confidently say they will be my new go-to dish.
My wife opted for a build-your-own omelette with mushroom, spinach, and tomatoes, and it was exactly as she wanted it. The ingredients were fresh, and the omelette was cooked to perfection. The quality of the food at the Ruby Slipper truly impressed us.
Overall, our experience at the Ruby Slipper was outstanding, and I attribute much of that to our server, Jules. Her attentive and efficient service made us feel well taken care of. Combined with the delicious food, this restaurant is definitely a must-visit in downtown Pensacola.
Absolutely loved this place! I had the Ruby Special which was three of their most popular eggs benedict’s and they were great. The french toast bites and candied bacon was also fantastic. Loved the bloody mary as well. Highly recommend - great amount of food for the price too. Also the service? Absolutely top notch. Adored our waitress.
I am so used to being disappointed every time I go out... This place was such a nice change! The service was great! The food was exploding with freshness and flavor!!! I didn't want it to end! I suggested to my wife that we just stay until we get hungry again, lol!
I had the migas, so good! Only thing I could say bad is that I didn't like the shape of the chips, I'd rather have fat, normal looking chips than French fry cuts.
My wife had a chicken St. Charles and an eggs cochon with the pulled pork, they were also amazing, I liked the pulled pork one better. The hollandaise was fantastic!
Beignets and bacon were really good!
The tables, chairs, and benches could use an update.
Overall, I am only mad that I hadn't tried them sooner! I have heard the Pensacola location is the best one and cannot wait to go back!
Great experience all around! The service was fantastic. I arrived shortly before they opened; they had a large crowd, but was able to seat everyone quickly and no delays on food coming out! The food itself was fabulous. We started off with the loaded taters. The gravy had an amazing flavor while not being overpowering. The roast was nice and tender. I ordered the Chicken St. Charlie’s Benedict for my main course. It was outstanding; the chicken had a great crunch, yet it was super juicy on the inside. The biscuit was tasty as well. The gravy really helped everything come together!
The food is excellent. This is not IHOP or Waffle House. It's WAY better! You haven't had pancakes like this! Even the coffee had an original, but great taste to it. My server was polite and professional, and I did not have to wait long for my food once I placed my order. It arrived hot, and the fragrances that were coming from the plate made my mouth water. I had the cinnamon swirl pancakes with bacon and sausage.
The CONS: If you don't arrive early, you can wait as long as two hours. To save time, I went to their website and got on the wait list before I arrived, and that cut an hour off of my wait time. (I only had to wait about 45 minutes) Upon my arrival, it was literally standing room only. Also, it has an "open air" design, which means that there is no separation between me and my fellow Patron. They are literally less than 2 feet away or right next to you. I can hear their conversation, and they can hear mine. They did have outdoor seating, but it was too hot to sit outside on the day I came to visit.
Overall, this was a wonderful trip that I will definitely be back for!
Let me start by saying my family loves this place! It’s a tradition for us to stop on our way back from the Florida panhandle. Some helpful tips when coming here, use the Google app to add yourself to the waitlist if you’re coming at a peak (brunch) time. You’ll save time and a headache. Parking can be difficult here, so be prepared to parallel park in the street. Now for the food, it’s satisfying, and there are sweet and savory options for the whole family. We had the breakfast tacos with shrimp, avocado toast, florentine omelette, white chocolate bread pudding pancakes, New Orleans style iced coffee and a kid’s chocolate chip pancakes. Our server Donna was attentive and knowledgeable about menu questions. We will definitely be back here again very soon!
Cristal was great! So friendly and helped me pick a delicious meal. I got the breakfast tacos, a biscuit, and an iced vanilla coffee. The tacos were SO good and I've had many a breakfast tacos! The butter that's made in house for the biscuits was really good as well-- like a savory sweet treat. The coffee was okay but I forgot upon ordering that I don't really like nutmeg so that's no fault of theirs. Ruby Slipper is a bit pricey for the portion sizes but they make up for it with the service, flavor, and atmosphere. Outside seating is comfortable despite the summer heat with the shade and several fans going.
The food really was good and affordable; ordered the limited special pork tacos. The rating of the food was exception of the warm not so fresh tator tots. When addressed they brought hot tots however, there was a taste of cinnamon on them.
First time here, our waitress Cindy Lou, she was top of the line, went out of her way to please❣️Excellent service and the food is totally off the charts-if you want excellent food and service and outstanding breakfast come here; we will be back👍
