Review Applewood House Of Pancakes - Pawleys Island

We went for the Sunday breakfast buffet and it was fantastic! Every item was hot, fresh and of high quality. Price is a bit steep for a breakfast buffet at $14.99 for adults, but the quantity, quality and service makes the price competitive.

This restaurant has always had good management and has a new owner/manager as of just recently. The food quality is great. Have to say the same for all the workers. The place is clean. Prices are fair. You can tell the employees like working there. Such a wonderful step up from Eggs Up Grill! Management is so friendly and I think that sets the right tone for their associates and their patrons. Very friendly atmosphere.

What a great place to grab a great breakfast! The menu is huge! I had the Seafood Omelet with grits and toast....it was top notch! My waitress Candace was so very friendly and always on top of anything I needed. I travel this way once a month and will definitely stop back in for some pancake action!! If you are in the area stop on by for great food at an even better price!

The food is delicious. i opted for the buffet. They will make you eggs to order with the buffet, just have to ask for it. I highly, highly, highly recommend the blueberry cobbler. Whether you order it separately or you get it from the buffet, that is worth the visit right there!

I ate at the Eggs Up Grill down the street yesterday and this place is night & day to that place! The gluten free pancakes are very bland here, but the rest of the food was great! I received a lot more food for the same price. The people are happy and friendly here. The waiter was such a delight. Im going to start eating here from now on. The omelette was huge, gluten free and full of veggies! The bowl of grits were up to the top! Only $13 for a huge omelette and two good sized gluten free pancakes. I added the bowl of grits which is $1.79. It was so filling I'm taking the omelette to go. No complaints, only suggestion to add some rum or vanilla extract and some monk fruit to the pancake batter.

My friends got these but I got just a plain pancake and it's was fluffy and sweet enough that I didn't even eat it with suyrp. One friend got the applewood pancake and the other got a 4 egg omelette with pancakes.

I had the French toast with fresh strawberries and a side of grits. It was amazing. My husband had the meat lovers omelet with baby red potatoes, the omelet was huge. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. We were there around 7:45 am on a weekday so it was not very busy however the atmosphere was nice. I loved the inspirational quotes on the wall throughout the restaurant.

Good breakfast fare in a friendly casual environment. Similar to a usual breakfast diner. Thr food is good and the price is right. I do think they could use a few more wait staff as the servers always seem frazzled running around from table to table.

The host is very welcoming and the food was very delicious. The pancakes were very tasty and the burger was nice and juicy. As well the server (Carla) was very nice and helpful when it came to choosing what to order. Definitely recommend!

First things first…. The food was excellent!! And not price of the food was very economical! Unlike the first place I went to in Myrtle beach here at my stay was extremely over priced. Like come on! 26$ for an omelet like is there gold in there or something . Just can’t believe the price charge of small restaurants. Came down here from New York for a week. And I’m going to this place again second time in the row Tommorrow! Totally worth it!

Had the traditional breakfast. It wasn't much extraordinary. The bacon left a lot to be desired and the potatoes seemed like they were cooked three hours before. The sourdough was delish. Service was great.

We are staying in Murrells Inlet but this place is just down the street, so we decided to check it out for breakfast. Sandy (sp?) was our waitress and was extremely kind. I got the hash stack, which wasn’t made with hash browns and I was absolutely thrilled for that! It was so good! It was made with more of country styled potatoes. I also was very intrigued by the placemats advertising the bee-caps. So I bought a bottle and I’m gonna give it a go!

High quality and eell-prepared breakfasts. Great menu selection and on Sundays, you have a breakfast buffet. 5% off your check if you pay in cash.

This was such a great find. We were seated right away, the service was great, the food came out quickly and was delicious. We will definitely be returning.

Hands down, the best breakfast I've ever had... The service was amazing, and the employees genuinely seemed happy to be working there. The breakfast bar is not to be missed (all you can eat made to order crepes and omlettes, yogurt parfait station, home fries, pancakes/waffles, and so much more. Can't recommend this place enough!

For the summer Friday’s buffet was excellent. Plenty of food coming out of that kitchen and providing food steadily. Brandon made my omelette just as I wanted and he kept fresh eggs on the line. Mmm I would do it again.

Whenever we are down by Pawley's Island if it is early we stop there to eat because we love the food and I love their crepes. We were in Murrels Inlet for a doctor appointment and decided it was worth the short drive down there for breakfast. The waitress we had was very friendly and came to our table 3 or 4 times to see if we needed anything. We have been there in the past and we had a very nice waitress both times. We will continue to stop there if we are down that way early enough before they close for the afternoon.

From the owner to the whole staff....this place will embrace you the minute you walk in the door! The owner is very gracious and humble! Needless to say the food is very tasty and good!

The best place for pancakes and crepes at the beach!!! Only 2 hours away and will drive down for Sunday brunch for the great atmosphere and service. The buffet had many choices and was hot. Can't wait to go back!!!

Our first visit was wonderful. Great food & the service was great also. Buffet breakfast was hot & fresh and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back on our next visit back to the beach.

I don’t see how this place rates 4.5 by anyone, went there this morning and it was simply terrible, long wait cold food, pork chop breakfast was like cold beef jerky ! Not going to recommend to anyone again

The best food by far I have ever eaten ultraclean super wait staff. The pancakes were like something out of willy wonka just awesome. Me and my wife and all our friends make it a point to go when we are in Myrtle Beach.

Best breakfast buffet on the strand also with custom cooked omelets. They’ve got lunch as well.

Just the best place to eat breakfast in SC

Pancake perfection including best gluten free pancakes we have ever had.

Home fries were over cooked on both my wife's and my meal. And my Virginia ham was dry.

We have been coming here for breakfast on our vacations for as many years as I can remember. This will be our last trip though. The service was terrible; our waitress got orders wrong, never refilled a drink, and seemed annoyed when anything was requested of her. The food was even worse. I ordered eggs Benedict and it came out with one egg yolk broken and soaked through the home fries and the other egg had fallen off the English muffin. Only one English muffin half had any hollandaise and the food overall was a lukewarm temperature. I requested unsweet tea to drink and received sweet tea. When I requested a new glass, I was told that I was wrong. I could continue with examples of other issues from our party of 7. It saddens me to think that one of my favorite vacation spots will be crossed off our list but there are too many other breakfast places in the area with better food and much better service.

The best breakfast bar! We always enjoy a visit on a weekend when we are in Myrtle. Fresh and great variety! They even make your favorite pancake or omelet. Love it!

Great buffet breakfast on weekends, many choices and omlets made to order. Also can order from the menu. Be prepared to wait to get a table during tourist season, Sunday is always crowded.

We always eat here every yr we come this way. So good. And friendly people

Lots of options on the menu. We all tried the pancakes as it is named a house if pancakes. They were very good. Eggs, bacon, and sausage were all good, but the pancakes are in the name for a reason. The Early Bird Special is a good deal. The kids menu has good options too.

The food was excellent to say the least!! All the servers were scattering around with a smile on their face on Christmas Eve and looked happy to be there. We had an older lady that was very professional and to the point and strictly business and quite obviously NOT from the south!! Come on lady, lighten up a little, smile, I promise it won't hurt!!! Your in the south so act like it!!!!@

The Eggs Florentine I had were delicious, and what made them even better was substituting a buttermilk biscuit for the English muffin. Overall, it is a very accessible restaurant. Read the full review on my blog.

Great friendly restaurant. Excellent quality. Top favorites are the create your own omelette, pancakes and sea food crepes. Highly recommend for breakfast/lunch. Will be back!

Although the staff is extremely friendly, the food is bland and unappetizing. I ordered the banana walnut pancakes, and another person in my party got the buttermilk pancakes. Both kinds of pancakes were rubbery and tasted odd. They were unedible. I will not be back.

The food on the buffet was not well prepared or maintained. The eggs Benedict were terrible. The English muffins were so hard you had a hard time cutting them even with a knife. The peach cobbler looked like it was burnt and had sat there for 3 or 4 days!! Will not return and would not recommend to others!!

Hope you like Bacon. Everything I've ordered in there tastes and smells like bacon. I've even asked them to cook my eggs in butter but they still taste like bacon. Even Cracker Barrell doesn't have that problem. They need to realize that not everybody likes bacon grease. The pancakes are real good though, but they automatically come out with powdered sugar unless you say otherwise.

I thought the food and service were excellent would recommend and will come back

Amazing!!! And our server was a real sweetheart. Great value also...large food portions. We will be back.

Great value for a fantastic breakfast. Went twice in three days while visiting Litchfield. The chick and waffles was not what I was expecting as it came as a chicken filet served between the waffles as a sandwich, but very tasty none the less. The biscuits and gravy are great, and the omelet and pancake choices have something for everyone. The local artwork throughout is a nice touch. I would definitely recommend Applewood to any breakfast lover.

Best breakfast restaurant in Myrtle Beach area. We love eating breakfast at Applewood -- the omelettes and pancakes are outstanding. We've tried a number of other restaurants for breakfast, but none compare to our experience at Applewood -- consistently good food & service; nice family oriented environment. We'll be regular visitors to Applewood.

Worst restaurant experience ever! My husband and I got there a little sooner than the buffet started, by about 30+ minutes. I proceeded to order crab cake eggs Benedict while the husband decided to wait for the buffet. My food came out first, but the crab cakes were soupy, NOT COOKED! Also, my should have been poached eggs were boiled and resembled 3 large sperm cells, no joke. When I asked the server why it was sent out like that he asked what was wrong, it was obvious, explanation did not further his comprehension. I asked to have it remade, another 20 minutes go by, buffet still not open. 10 minutes after the buffet was supposed to start the server told my husband he could go to the buffet, soon as he picked up a plate a loud and very obnoxious, ignorant speaking female server yelled at him to put the plate back and told him to back to his seat. Yelled! At this time we decided to leave and they tried to make me pay for the breakfast I told them 3 time I didn't want. Who wants sperm over mush? Rude, unhelpful staff, even less concerned management and not impressed with the environment. Waffle House, although lesser quality ingredients has far superior customer service and efficiency that this sorry excuse for an eatery.

Don't miss out on these cakes!. If you are ever in the Myrtle Beach area, make the trip to this establishment! What a great place with delicious food! The waitstaff is very friendly and helpful if you are having a hard time to choose from all of the wonderful menu items they have. We're headed back again!
