Doghouse

I had a Chicago dog, vegan style. Everything was great except for the dog itself, it really falls short. If you switch to Field Roast Stadium dogs, you will have people coming up and accusing you of using real hot dogs....they are that good. I would pay $2 extra for that. As far as customer service, it was great and friendly, the only thing that I would suggest is to please change gloves between transactions.... the same screen is being touched by everybody.

Just tried the Dog House on Michigan at Conway. The owners were friendly, the food was fresh and hot, and they have ice cream too. They also support the Boone football program. Everything I have ordered there has been delicious! The different types of tater tots are delicious! Oh, and what about soda fountain ... it suits everyones tatste buds, different sweet cravings! Let's support our local businesses.

From the friendly gentleman who made my food, to the laidback atmosphere and the appealing plating… this place was great. Best dog I have had in town and I am a Fenway frank kinda guy. Loaded tots were next level - they were well-done and perfectly crisp but not over-fried. Cheese, bacon, and all other toppings seemed fresh and tasted like it. Stopped here because I had an eye appointment and my eyes were dilated and I didn’t feel safe driving yet. Suffice to say, I will be satisfied on the way home.

Very cute restaurant. I paid just under $6 for a beef hotdog (including the 15 cents card transaction fee) + toppings (25 cents). The staff member was nice but it seems he’s running the restaurant alone, so the lack of additional staff (this was during lunchtime at 12:45pm) at a peak hour means you may wait a few minutes. Also, this place shares a space with the ice cream shop. The Doghouse employee works both sides. Parking is a little tight in the back but there is shared street parking near the other businesses. Seating is arranged for 1-2 people per party; there aren’t areas for a larger group except for 4 stools directly at the bar area that separates the Doghouse from the Ice cream place. My experience felt more 4 stars but I suspect it was impacted by the sick customer who was inside sneezing and coughing nearby (gross — stay home). I rounded my experience to 5 stars since i couldn’t even think of anything objectively negative about the restaurant except that I wish there was more than 1 staff member.
