Gator's Dockside

Stopped in to eat lunch after a long morning. Was starving and the lunch rush was gone so the place was practically empty. The staff was friendly and there were sports on TVs on every wall. Once seated the wait staff took our drink orders immediately and then came back in a timely manner to take our lunch order. We talked until lunch arrived and sadly the music was so loud it was hard to hear anything. From someone who has a hearing impairment due to my military service this was annoying. They really should make the music, background music instead of allowing it to take center stage. The place was wheelchair accessible, except as usual most restaurants have tables that have a center leg with 4 "spokes" coming out of the bottom. This makes getting a wheelchair with a footplate very difficult to get under the table and you end up eating over your lap because you cant get close enough to move under the table. Very very frustrating and one of my biggest annoyances about public eateries. Speaking of accessible, the womens bathroom had an accessible stall BUT the automatic soap is so far off the ground that when you pit your arm under it, this machine automatically dispenses soap all over you. If I was shorter i would have had soap in my hair. UGH The food was typical bar food, nothing spectacular. I had the chicken BLT wrap which was dry, my husband had the breakfast burger and didn't finish it all which is very unusual, and our guest had a buffalo chicken salad which actually looked amazing. When I go back I will most likely try a salad. Overall I though the food was good for a quick lunch but it would not be my first choice. They do have a full inside/outside bar with lots of outside seating for a warmer day and this looks like it might be a great place for drinks and appetizers. Looks pike it would be packed on a Thursday night or Saturday afternoon to watch a football game. I would come back and try it again as they are really friendly but don't go expecting really good food, it is mediocre at best. They did try and that is why I am giving them 4 stars.

Dorothy S server at 45 W Crystal Lake Street Awesome personally Customer service and Attitude. The Food was hot and came out fast Dorothy had great recommendations on food choices and was a great host. We were a large group she was able to attend to the whole family and help us sing happy birthday to my daughter who turned 21. Thanks Dorothy we enjoyed our time at Gator’s Dockside really appreciate you. You deserved a bigger tip sorry that’s all I had.

Overall food was good and the service was as well. The poboy was flavorful and had plenty to fill you up. It was missing a little taste to tie in but I think that was because I opted to not have the blue cheese. Maybe I should have added ranch. The fries were of great texture and flavor, they may have come out slightly early because they weren't cold but also weren't hot when I received them. The wings were okay, plenty to bite but there was an opportunity with the flavor being consistently through them. The girlfriend had fettuccine for her taste the noodles had a slight much bite, but she was chowing down and said she couldn't believe her plate was so full after she ate. Our waitress was fast and on top of everything. My biggest pet peeve is when my soft drink goes empty but she made sure I was always in a good place. Also the music, personally I loved it. Some of the songs I haven't heard in 15 or more years. Was a good rise down memory lane. Overall would come back.
