We decided to do Thanksgiving a little differently this year by eating out. The food at Orcas Hotel Cafe was delicious! Hands down one of the best Thanksgiving feasts of my life.
Surprisingly tasty food! The service was fast and efficient. We had the chicken quesadilla, clam chowder, grilled cheese and fish and chips.
Everything tasted good! The tomato soup with the grilled cheese was slightly undercooked and garlicky. But other than that, everything was good.
Great lil place for your first or last stop on the island. We stopped about an hour before having to get our ferry and and plenty of time to enjoy our meal and the view one last time. The breakfast sandwich was amazing, and the staff are very friendly and quick.

I was fully prepared to hate the coffee- glad I tried it again. New owners = new coffee. The beignets were hot and tasty. We love sitting on the rocking chairs watching the boats come it and out.
We stopped for lunch after arriving on the noon ferry. There was ample parking. We elected for 2 clam chowders and shared an order of fish and chips. The chowder was unique but was very good. No complaints about the dish either. Total price was $60 which was steep but average for island meals. A great view of the ferry terminal and surrounding islands.
Orcas Island is a beautiful, relaxing place to recharge, but if you're looking for a place to have dinner during the week, you won't have a lot of choices. Most of the restaurants are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but many of them are only open for 4 days. I happened to Google for places to eat at tonight and found the Orcas Hotel Cafe. This is their informal, casual eatery and you order your food at the counter, find a seat, and then they bring out your food. It's located right by the ferry so it's very easy to find and the view there was magnificent!! The main dining area had a packaged deal that offered food and jazz music for $68 tonight but we chose the casual dining option. My companions had fish and chips and the order was large enough to share.
Casual dinner dining, seated right away on Monday evening. Cool carnivorous plants in cafe!
Greath location for when you have a ferry to catch. The view is also very stunning. The food was aslos good and the avocado toast looked delicious. I would like to come back and actually stay at the historic hotel for a weekend or longer. For me as a Canadian I was surprised when they said they had a bathroom. The coffee I had was ok not the best but it did the trick.
My girlfriend and I stopped here for lunch after taking the ferry over from Amacortes, and after eating there I'm surprised to read some of the negative reviews. The service was great, food came out hot. I had the breakfast burrito and she had the avocado toast. We thought the food was really really good, and the views out onto the sound are a nice addition. Yes, there is no restroom in the restaurant, but it's clearly posted on the entryway. Furthermore, the public restrooms at the ferry terminal are maybe a 60 second walk. 5/5 would eat there again.
Two hours of waiting for fairy, so I went to this little cafe off the parking lot to waste sometimes. The coffee was outstanding and my avocados toast couldn’t be more perfect taste. Stop by support them when you are in the area. Would come here again.
