Admittedly I have been a snob about the Chinese food scene in Omaha after experiencing Chinatowns in NYC, San Fran, and DC. Blue and Fly definitely changes that. They offer a Traditional-Chinese menu with amazing authentic dishes. There is an American-Chinese menu as well. Everything is executed perfectly and full of fresh flavor. The dishes are a fun experience to enjoy with anyone. This is our go-to for Chinese. They do get crowded during peak hours
The food was delicious!!!
We had the scallion pancakes, wonton soup was AMAZING, Kung Pao chicken was very good and the Hot & crispy chicken was also delicious! I also like that they have spice levels.
Waitresses were friendly and attentive.
Atmosphere was clean and pleasant!!
First time here with a friend. We will be back...soon! We had sweet&sour chicken and deep fried pork tenderloin with salt &pepper on the side and both were very good. Pleasantly surprised by the generous portions. Our friend was adventurous and had clams with fermented soybean and said it was good, and spicy just like described. Our server was excellent and patient with our questions and did not rush us while we explored the menu. Nice ambience. Didn't realize until driving home that I never got my hot&sour soup that was supposed to come with my entree, but will be back and will get to try it then. Very good, would highly recommend.
Best Chinese food in Omaha! Their specials and traditional menu really set them apart! Their standard Americanized food is also top notch! I go to eat here all the time because their food is always good, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is comfortable/welcoming. Pricing is about standard, maybe slightly expensive if you are used to very cheap Chinese food but the quality difference between B&F and a cheap place is huge. The staff are all extremely nice and care about their work. One of the best restaurants in Omaha, you're truly missing out if you haven't been here yet!
Staff was amazing and super friendly. Food so so good. That chinese kimchi was delicious 😋
Coming from a Chinese American from LA, this was the some best Chinese food I've had in the US. Good price, ingredients were fresh and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend ordering the traditional dishes rather than the Americanized ones!
Very delicious food, nice clean atmosphere and friendly staff. The hot and sour soup was delicious, the cashew chicken and garlic chicken were a delight. They even have a traditional Chinese dishes selection. Definitely will be back again.
Delicious food, unflappable wait staff. A place to have good conversations as it takes a beat to be seated & served, worth the time involved. A place for delightful evening with good foods, bring your friends.
Saw this on a *must try* Omaha restaurant list. Unassuming at the edge of a strip mall. The menu is mostly what you would expect, same with prices. Service was great, despite a sign on the door saying they had new staff members and to be patient. The food was good, not excellent but the beautiful plating helped. I would come back. Portion sizes are large and saw many things I wanted to try. Paid 36 for 2 egg rolls, 2 soup, 2 entrees, soda and the fried rice that came with the entree.
You can get more traditional Chinese food here as opposed to American Chinese food.
Update: this is one of the rare places in Omaha that you can get Chinese food (there are many more American Chinese food restaurants). I found myself coming here the most if that's what I'm craving.
Lamb noodle soup (seasonal) 5 stars
If you like white pepper, this is the one for you. It's quite punchy in that flavor.
Scallion pancakes 5 stars
This is one of our go to appetizers for here.
Bulgogi beef (Chinese style) 5 stars
The peppery beef in brown sauce arrives on top of onions on a sizzling plate.
Seafood noodle soup 3 stars
This is a skip for me. There was a lot of squid/cuttlefish, 2 mussels and a bit of shrimp. I'm not as big into the squid. I liked noodles but the soup was not there for me either. I've just had better versions elsewhere and with the other dishes to choose from this is not one I'd choose.
Pot stickers 4 stars
Egg roll 3.5 stars
They are fine, but not the kind I prefer. It's double battered as it's extra crispy which some people really like, but I don't want the extra batter personally.
My friend and I usually get a smoothie. It's a bit pricier but they are very good.
Previous review....
This was my initial visit.
Food was good. There was no stand out dishes for me but it was a solid offering. Might have to go back to see if I can find something that makes me go back repeatedly.
If I end up coming here more frequently I will up it to 5 stars .
Pokemon: there is a pokestop nearby that you can easily get to from this location.
Parking is relatively simple as it shares a decent sized parking lot with a few other businesses.
