My favorite bakery in the whole world! Their plain cake donuts are delicious; slightly crispy with such simple flavor...not too sweet, and never boring! :)
Olsen's reminds me of a small town bakery; a long running establishment with ties to the community and no interest in becoming just another corporate retail outlet. The staff is friendly, the baked goods are excellent, and the prices are reasonable.
And if that's not enough: Frosted croissants; need I say more?
Old school bakery doing donuts the right way. You can tell they let their dough mature. Great chew while still being light and fluffy. Fried perfectly without being greasy. Their kolaches are delicious too with all the classic fillings, including poppy seed!
Wanted to find a locally owned doughnut shop and we found this gem. Location was easy to find for us and the business is very small. We grabbed a dozen donuts and wished we grabbed some more to take home! We will need to begin to make this a regular stop when we come to Omaha. Nothing that we tried was bad and we would be very hard pressed to pick just one favorite!
Great stuff, you can taste the authenticity. It tasted like real food. You won’t be disappointed.
Looked up “donuts near Omaha Zoo” the day before our day trip to pickup donuts and sweets before hitting the zoo. This place came up and had good reviews so we figured we would give it a try.
Stopped by and they still had lots of selections and the prices were a steal. Everything we got from donuts to cookies and pastries were all 10/10. The lady there was very nice and lots of regulars seemed to be coming and going. The snacks kept well despite the heat and was the perfect start to a great day at the zoo.
Truly fantastic. We showed up today while it was raining and there was still a line out the door. Even after getting a little wet from the rain, the donuts were still worth it. I highly recommend.
The best doughnuts in the world! Reminds me of the Benson Bakery back in the day. I would put these glazed doughnuts up against anyone's anywhere.
This no frills bake shop puts out great tried and true classic glazed doughnuts, crullers, iced cake, glazed croissants, etc. The cake doughnut had a great golden color but the cake recipe itself was a little bland. I like a little spice or oomph in my cake doughnuts so these just tasted a bit mild. Quite sweet icing but it wasn't too thick.
They're also a bargain at just $1 per doughnut! Some places are selling crazy toppings these days but Olsens sticks to the classics and does them well.
During COVID they are limiting capacity to 3 customers at once (it's quite a small shop). So there will likely be a bit of a wait--I think I waited 12 minutes around 10 AM on a Saturday. It's a cute little shop, it's been there quite some time by the looks of it.
Best bread in town. The pizza is to die for. So wonderful!! They also have deli meats.
Fabulous quality! And it’s only 50 cents per good-sized cookie. What a great place to stop by, you’ll enjoy!
This place is a neighborhood staple and one worth going to if your new to the area, new to this place specifically, and especially if you.miss Donut Stop. It's an old school donut shop that still have a self-serve pot of coffee with a cup under a buck. The service is friendly and the prices can't be beat. But go early, they sell out quick.
