Review Chelinos Mexican Restaurant - Oklahoma City

I got the Monday lunch special: Chicken with rice. I should have waited and took the picture before I took a bite but I was hungry! Excellent service, excellent food. My favorite Chelino's in OKC. It's worth the trip for good stuff!

This was my first time here but it definitely won't be the last time. Every single criteria that I base my opinion on, here... was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the people were so very nice!! Every thing was very clean. I, personally, loved the decor. The bright colors. The pictures on the wall, some of which (if not all) were family photos. I loved it all. But I have to talk about what I was really there for. The food!! 1st, the service... My guy was so cute. I wanted to take him home as a new son. He was engaging and very helpful in making menu choices. I wanted to order it all. My food came out piping hot or perfectly chilled. The produce was fresh. Every single bite was SOOOOOO good. Items, that at other places I do not like, I loved here. There's just too much to say about how very good it all was and not enough words. Everything was so good. I ate too much and was stuffed long before my mouth was finished tasting. The prices were reasonable and the portions were more than generous. I have to add that I got a meal to go for my husband. All of the care and attention that was given to my meal as an eat in customer was given to the order to go. From the complimentary chips, salsa (so perfect) and queso to the ordered meal right down to the plastic ware. All I did was order the tamale plate. Everything was there just as if he was there in person. He said every bite was delicious (and he ate it ALL!) Honestly, there was absolutely nothing that needed improvement. We are not in Oklahoma City often, but when we are... We will definitely be eating at Chelino's. I've already told all of our family and they're planning on going, themselves. Thank you so much, Chelino's, for a perfect lunch!!

My daughter picked this restaurant. We were visiting for the week so we said, sure let's go. I was a little surprised to see bars on the windows when we arrived, but we went in and had a lovely dinner. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Definitely a "don't judge a book but it's cover" moment.

This has been our go to Chelinos for over 20 years..we’ve been going so long the owner and his wife when she was there working all hug us. They treat us very well and we’re about to head there now! They take care of there family and always treat us like family.

AWESOME. AWESOME THEY ARE LIKE A PART OF OUR FAMILY. they all work together to make sure you are taken care of. Plus great food and service. Great with babies and making drinks 🍸 as well.

I've been eating at this restaurant location for close to 30 years, and it's as good now as it was 30 years ago. Great TexMex food. The building is old and funky but very clean. Would recommend to anyone looking for great TexMex dishes.

Chelino's Mexican Restaurant located at 1221 S Robinson Ave in OKC provides all the tasty Mexican food fare for lunch and dinner. This family owned Mexican restaurant has been in existence since 1989 and has become a genuine staple in Oklahoma City and surrounding areas of the fine, quality Mexican food Chelino's has come to be known for in the metro area. Open daily and now with several locations including Edmond and Yukon, everything is prepared and served the Chelino way by a friendly, courteous waitstaff. You definitely won't go away hungry!

I love going here. When my parents come to visit we often find ourselves going here bc the food is so great & the prices are good. I always get the enchiladas and at other restaurants, they hardly put any meat in but this place does it right! If I ever want Mexican food, I always go here! Also the staff is so nice & welcoming.

I have been eating at this location since shortly after it opened. The food and service have been excellent from day one. Getting to know Juan and his family over the years, they are a great, caring, hard-working family.

First timer here, had the friendliest staff, even had what looked like the owner or manager out refilling our chips and drinks. Loved the queso and tortillas provided when you sit down. Food came out very quick and was delicious.

We came here for the first time last night for dinner and had an amazing experience! We were seated as soon as we came in and the food was super hot. Our waitress was such a sweetheart too. Will definitely be back again. 😁 100% recommended.

I ate lunch for my birthday here, and it was great. They even sang happy birthday to me ! Love this place.

I received the wrong order but was unable to get the server,who was overworked with all the tables outside, to notice to get it corrected. I attempted to eat the wrong meal and it was the worst food I have ever put in my mouth. I had ordered a beef enchilada with Cheese sauce and received an enchilada with chili sauce. This sauce tasted so bad and had the most funny taste I couldn't eat it. Hopefully, it was just a rare occasion and this is not a common theme here. Besides this and the slow service, it was a mediocre experience. At least I had good company.

The people are friendly and the service is fast, but I just wasn't blown away by the food. I got the Terreras special burrito with chicken. And that's all it was. Sheedded, unseasoned chicken in a tortilla with cheese melted on it. Cheese dip was so-so (needed salt), salsa was odd, beans, rice, and chips were good, though (but all needed salt). I enjoyed seeing my friends though!

The best Chelinos in town hands down! I’ve been going there for over 20 years and I always get treated like family. I know the whole family and the food is always great!

Chelinos has great service and friendly staff and the food is always on point and you can't forget the ice cold beer.
