Great tamales. Tried the chicken and the pork. The pork are savory and meaty-delicious! Chicken was also very good, but a tad spicy for me! (people who like hot will love them) Tried the corn w/mayo, parmesan cheese, lime and chili powder. Was different, but really tasty. Very nice place and people. It's a deal - dozen for $15! Want to try cheese too. Will be back and probably more often than I should.

I first had the cheese/jalapeño tamales at a business event & downed two of these tasty tamales in no time. Located southwest of the OKC stockyards, the "Patio" is a cash & carry for tamale lovers. Pick some up for home or office & you'll be coming back for more. Hint: cheese/jalapeño sells out, so go early. Chicken & pork are good as well...

Nicely done. If you are going to do only one thing, do it well. That seems to be the strategy that this place has adopted and executed to near perfection. Unlike many other places offering only pork tamales on their menus, El Patio gives the option of chicken and cheese - both of which my family and I prefer. Downsides: (1) They take only cash (or check) so be prepared. (2) Food is messy and difficult to eat without a plate, fork, and lots of napkins. It seems like the corn meal overflows and sticks to the husk, but that's part of the character that makes them great and authenticates as something other than mass produced fashion food. While it doesn't look like much from outside, inside is a hidden treasure.

NOT BAD. I ordered a dozen of the pork tamales. Not the best, but at the same time they were not bad. Price was reasonable. $15 for a dozen. I will have to go back and try the chicken tamales and buy some of the green sauce to go with them. The tamales are very big in size and loaded with shredded pork. I've had better ones that were homemade but these will do the trick.

Got a dozen - half pork and half chicken. Both are very good! A little disappointed I couldn't try the cheese. The menu on their site doesn't mention they only make them 2 days a week. Was told when I asked about them they mostly just take orders on the cheese and only have a few left over to sell on the days they make them. Guess ill have to go back on a wed so I can try them.

Wonderful tamales! Cheese are fantastic, but they often run out early in the day. Chicken are great, as are the pork. Be sure to buy the green sauce. Very kind people working, best tamales in OKC metro - worth the drive!!

I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!. They sell by the dozen and it is a to go place only. They do have 3 tables if you want to eat there. They also sell elotes and drinks. We ordered half chicken with green chiles and pork. It was delicious!

Best Tamales in OKC. Only downside is they are takeout only, and it is just Tamales. However the Tamales are the best you can buy in the area! They do one thing, and they do it very well. Take home a dozen, as they heat up very well, just don't burn yourself on the foil when you are taking them home.

I'm from Cali and when I moved to the East Coast 20yrs ago, I could not find one place that made real authentic Mexican tamales that I was used to eating. We happened to pass through OKC area and found this small spot. I finally had the tamales that I have been searching for! We had the pork and chicken & it was perfect! The taste was just like the ones in Cali! If we had something to put it in we would have bought a dozen of these!

I didn't know tamales could be this good. Seriously. Tamales usually range from "ok" to "pretty good for tamales" to me, but if these were the standard, tamales would be my favorite Mexican food. Had no idea.

Only Cash, be prepared. In and out, no seating. It's so worth it. I finally found delicious tamales in OKC. Red pork and green chile are my favorite. Green chicken Chile, ok, not my thing. The "maza" has good seasoning. Now at $2 p/tamale, good price. Call ahead and reserve your order. Forgot to take pictures of tamales, just the wrapping was left. 😆

A FAVORITE SPOT! We've bought here for years and probably the BEST tamales we've had anywhere! Always hot! Always fresh! Select spicy or mild. Today we ordered half chicken and half pork and went to Hefner park to enjoy them. These are a favorite of family and friends and we Highly Recommend them! Nicest staff and owners! This is a DO NOT MISS PLACE TO ENJOY!

Hole-in-the-walls are sometime the place to find good food, just like Tamales El Patio. At least when it comes to the tamales we picked up, they were fresh tasting and generous in portion. We especially enjoy the cheese tamales.

Great tamales best in town as far as I know but like everything else they are just a little pricey not to bad but enough for me to decline the 5th star. All in all though tamales are worth it.

Every time I am working in the area I make a point to get tamales. I like the cheese the best, but they are all good.
