Review Casa De Los Milagros Mexican Restaurant And Cantina - Oklahoma City

OMG! Why? Why have I not eaten here before!?! This is authentic, delicious food with fabulous service! Our server Fabian was the best and most helpful. White queso and salsa, Pazole Rojo, Botanas, Mexican tacos with chicken tortilla soup and potatoes, guiso with rice and bean, mangonado. EVERYTHING was delicious but I think the Pazole was my favorite. Don't be afraid to try a squeeze of lime. Reasonably priced and big portions of delicious food

You will immediately be drawn to the facade, colorful tilework and decor of this restaurant from driving into the parking lot and entering the dinning space. It has a spacious shaded outdoor seating area and multiple indoor spaces. The high ceiling gave it a grandier ambience and the colorful interior sure adds to the dining experience. Our chicken taco salad and quesadilla are flavorful, though the chips were a little too thick. The queso and salsa mixed together is delicious too. I am very pleased with the frozen margarita and look forward to returning for another meal and drink.

We went out for lunch, but the restaurant we intended to visit was overcrowded so we decided to try this place. So happy we did! We can now add this to our favorites. We had the queso, tortilla soup and pozole. All three items were flavorful and homemade. The pozole came with sides of cabbage, onions, & radishes to add to the soup. This was more than enough for us, and we were happy to have leftovers to take home.

My husband and I have been coming here for over a year now about 4 to 5 times a month. Every single time we have had excellent service! From the host to the wait staff, all are extremely friendly and so attentive. The food has also be delicious (tacos or enchiladas are usually what we order).

This Mexican restaurant has a unique design, unique decoration too. The food was good, the service was great, wouldn't necessarily think its authentic, more like Tex-Mex. The prices were reasonable too.
Tim Boccaleri
Casa De Los is a very nice and clean restaurant. The good was just okay but not the best Mexican food we have eaten. We ate lunch and was shocked that the place was empty. For a Mexican restaurant the portion sizes that we had were a small. Overall, there was a lot to like about this restaurant and I would try it again for dinner. Too bad we were just passing through.

If you want good quality and as close to authentic as you can get, head over to Milagros! I love the food here and the drinks aren't too shabby either! But def here for the food! Since the patio is now open now you can sit outside again! Always open seating and spacious so you don't feel crowded when eating! I had 2 margaritas & fajitas for around $41 with tax and tip! A WIN!

Probably the prettiest mexican restaurant in the city. Their food is also very good. The fajitas were some of the best I've ever had. The service was adequate. The server didn't go out of his way to make us feel at home, but he still performed his job. The restroom facilities could have been a little cleaner. The paper towels were on a roll sitting on the counter. The floor was sticky. And for such a gorgeous bathroom, they've let it get a little rundown. The cloth napkins also had a funny smell -- like Gain and sour milk. Overall, it's one of my favorite places in okc and one of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants. With just a touch more attention on these little details it would be perfect.

Pulling into OKC I got the craving for fish tacos and rice! So glad I stopped in at this place! The food was amazing and the Margaritas were strong enough to forget the road for a minute. The service was very quick and atmosphere was very friendly and inviting. As a guy just passing through it's a pretty legit restaurant! I would definitely eat here again!

Great food, great margaritas, and service was excellent. Prices were good as well. We've been twice and will go again when we go back to Oklahoma City.

The atmosphere is authentic and cozy. Love the fish tank. The staff is very friendly and the chicken was so juicy and delicious. An amazing place.

The food was very good and reasonably priced, presented well and very hot when served. The spices blended very well together, and my steak dinner was tender. It was a bit overdone for my taste, but still very enjoyable. My wife brought home half of her beef fajita meal because of it being a large proportion.

Beautiful structure from the highway as well as in person. Clean and relaxing atmosphere! Second time around was even better. Every thing was very prompt, refills were filled without being asked. Good service, great atmosphere and great food!!! Birthday visit!

This was the best dine in experience I’ve had since the pandemic. Upon my arrival I was greeted and celebrated. The staff had amazing patience and to top every off the food had me speechless….. Will definitely come again.

I absolutely love this place!! The service is great, chips are the best in town, and the portions are always very filling. My husband gets the chimichanga and I get the carousel with a skinny margarita. Ever disappointed and will forever be a customer here

I used to love this place. But it has really gone downhill. It is noticeable when you walk up, knowing what it used to look like. No flowers, dead trees. Used to have a beautiful huge fish tank. Coral is dead. Just a few fish. Bathroom floor was sticky. Used to have suckers for the kids when leaving. All of this sends a signal that they are struggling. But I could handle all that if the food was good. Unfortunately, no. Food was oily of all things and really salty. But not good flavor. Salsa is good and beer on tap is good. I remember how great it was at the old location years ago. Sad. But we won't be back.

Milagros is what I love about Oklahoma City, family run and one of a kind. Took the kids last night after a hard week. It's one of the few places that everyone in the family loves. The food is fantastic, the service has always been amazing, and even with five kids we've felt welcomed and appreciated. The enchiladas verde is my personal favorite while my wife loves the camarones el Diablo. We really enjoy the large covered patio. Truly a gem in OKC.

I went to lunch with my brother a few weeks ago and the servers were very friendly and quick! The food was really great, i had a delicious chicken enchilada with black beans. I also had the best margarita i have ever had at a restaurant!
Beverly Hicks
Fantastic food and great service! The chicken tortilla soup and grilled chicken breast with sautéed vegetables and rice is amazing!
Mary Ayer-Couger
The margarita was so good! I enjoyed the meal also. Great service.
Patricia Barreda Tello
The best cheese sauce and flan in OKC! The place is wonderful, is like being in Mexico. The experience of having the guacamole being done in front of you is fantastic! If you go there ask for the queso fundido with chorizo. It is delicious! The food there is always fresh and the service is superb.
Erika Perales
Muy bonito el lugar muy acogedor, es un pedacito de mi querido México, la comida rica con una aguita de limón y de horchata y el postre OMG un flan deliciosoel personal muy amable regresare pronto
Scott McSchooler
Building and decor were awesome. Service was really slow, only 4 tables in our section with customers. My food was OK, although it had no presentation. My wife's nachos looked like they just came out of the microwave.
Jake Breedlove
I'm not sure why anyone would go anywhere else for Mexican food in OKC. Love the chips and queso, love the new ceviche, love the drinks, the design of the place, the atmosphere and have had great service every time I have been here. If I could give it more stars I would.
Karan Southerland
This is the place I love to go when in OKC area. We have been going here since they opened. Everything is always good. Sometimes they run out of pralines...but then the next time they will have them again. Everyone I bring to this place loves it. We have always had a good experience.

Great place Yummy food and great drinks and srevice. Good friendly family owned business

I been to this Restaurant a few times .The service is the worst ever I will never go there again.<br/>I been there couple times, trying to give it a second chance The waiters have horrible service.<br/>The food is not the best there is definitely better. The only thing I did like was the chips and salsa.<br/>The last time I went the waiter that, was assigned to my table was horrible.<br/>I had to get mad to get the waiter to even bring us drinks or chips. The waiter was rude and when I told him the food I wanted to order he ask why that., I was excuse me I am paying for the food, it will not be free.<br/>I had to complain about the server to get better service. I should not had to complain to get treated, right!!<br/>The first time i went it was for my birthday dinner I had invited a big party. The waiter we got was horrible it was not the same waiter it was a different one we got the 1st time. The waiter gave us our drinks never came back to ask if we wanted refills. We never got chips or salsa until I ask for them. The food was cold and not good.<br/>I gave this restaurant more than 2 opportunity and there not enough place to type all the bad service this restaurant Milagros has. I will never return and I will tell everyone of the bad service they have. I can;t rate less than a 1 on here but Milagros is a 0 !!!!!
John Boyd
Must've been an off day for them. Or the good cook was off work today. I've been here several times before and the food and service were always good. Today; not so much. I ordered the ribeye steak w/spicy shrimp. The shrimp were way overcooked and rubbery. I ordered the steak medium. There was not a speck of pink to be had there. The steak was also about fifty percent gristle. I've had chuckeye steaks from the budget grocery store that were better cuts of meat. For twenty-two bucks there's no excuse for a bad piece of meat or for bad execution. Everything I've had on previous trips was good. Today they were just going through the motions. The service was great. But that was easy as I was the only one on my side of the restaurant. But the cook needs to be demoted to dishwasher. And whoever selects their steaks needs to be sent to a reeducation camp. I'll go back eventually. But I'll stick to ordering dishes which are their core competency, and stay away from any of their more creative fare. They either can't do it correctly, or don't care to. But I won't gamble again.
Chelsea Marlett-Kennedy
Not great and not bad. There are definitely better Mexican places in the OKC metro but none where they are located. Fajitas were pretty good.
BaconPope
Absolutely must try the Milagros sauce--a specialty of the restaurant's founder. It is deliciously spicy, sweet, and tangy despite the shockingly chartreuse color. Research proves that it is great on everything.
Dr. Matt
Milagros has some positives and negatives as you can tell from the many reviews. Be careful! There are homemade tamales on the menu which are excellent (but also another tamale dishes that are not homemade...go figure. Be sure to ask which is which). I love that you can get grilled vegetables instead of beans or rice. Their salsas are good. The Caldo de Res is also a good choice. The sopapilla are huge and perfectly cooked, although there is a small charge for them.
Maria
The cheese sauce tasted like it was straight out of a can off the supermarket shelf. The food wasn't even hot. The hostess was more concerned about doing her makeup than being a host. I only gave it an extra half of a star because the bartender that served us was very nice.  I'd suggest Taco Bell before I'd recommend someone to this place.
Pallas Johnson
We stopped by for lunch. Good sized portions for the price. The papas rancheros were unique and definitely worth a try. The chimichanga breading was the perfect flaky texture. I love the interior decor.
James P
Worse mex food that I have found in OKC area. Piss poor service and all our food was lukewarm at best. The salsa was ok but the chips and cheese sauce both came to our table cold. When our meals arrived one out of three was correct then one meal never arrived at all. You would think for 50.00 you would get a better experience than at a fast food joint. Never coming back or recommending. What a waste of time and money.

We don't live in OKC but are in the city often.  We love eating at Whiskey Cake as the food and service is exceptional.  Last night however we decided on Mexican for a change and had always admired the artistic outside of this restaurant.  From the moment we pulled into a rather empty parking lot  at  6pm on a Sat. night to seeing cobwebs on the entry door this place just continued to greatly disappoint us.  The chips and salsa were absolutely among the worst we have ever have been served.  No flavor and the cheese dip actually tasted like it was bought a month ago from Sams club in those big gallon cans.  <br/>My wife ordered three crispy corn tacos.........she ate a part of one.. (hint for you suckers going there) take your own El Paso taco shells with you and just scoop the gooey ingredients out in your own shells!   My order of enchiladas were basic ground hamburger with a bit of their special sams cheese sauce...ug.... our son who eats about anything served left part of his meal and said it was a bland ground hamburger experience.  <br/>We finished with most of our plates mostly untouched.  With the other options that are available, I would simply say to this restaurant to either regroup quickly or find a liquidation company  to make it a quick death.
Shannon Mcentire
I highly suggest NOT eating  here! The food was bad enough sister and I sent it back without<br/>eating, I was charged for drinks I didn't have, and to top it off they stole my<br/>card and went shopping with it! I've called twice to speak with the manager but<br/>he has been MIA all day. So ridiculous!
FinickyFeederNOKC
This is a nice tex-mex restaurant with mediocre service and serious chain atmosphere. I was, at best, satisfied. Once was good enough for me I think. The prices are reasonable for the proportions but the food is land. The rice is overcooked. The beans are bland. How do you make black beans? The meat preparations which I had or well prepared even if mildly seasoned. I just felt kind of blah about this place. I really wanted to like it so much more. From the outside it seems like a unique place. There is plenty of parking in the lot and this place can hold a lot of people. I wouldn't go so far as to recommend this place but it's not bad.
Nigel Bunshaft
Truly a puzzlement.<br/><br/>The building is brightly painted, huge and ornate, even gaudy in an Indian/Pakastani sort of way. It even has glistening gold domes. I talked to my server, Jesus, who stated the place was purpose built for this restaurant.<br/><br/>The inside is a rabbit warren of rooms and corridors all interconnected in some arcane fashion.<br/><br/>The decor is heavily Mexican with tile floors and tile on the walls. There are tons of artish Mexican objects throughout the place.<br/><br/>The food - where to begin?<br/><br/>The cheese dip/sauce positively sucks. They would have done better putting a can of Rico's soybean nacho sauce out in the parking lot sun. On the other hand, the salsa started out meh, but it grows on you.<br/><br/>The menu is odd too. It is relatively short, mainly appetizers, tacos, burritos, a couple relleno choices, and some plates. Not nearly what I would have expected driving by. I would have thought something more elaborate.<br/><br/>Ordered Tortilla Soup, Green Pork Guiso, Mexican Potatoes, and Borracho Beans.<br/><br/>The Tortilla Soup was ok. Lots of meat, minimal spice, too much corn.<br/><br/>The Pork Guiso was fantastic. Extremely flavorful without being overly spicy hot. Certainly the best thing on the table!<br/><br/>The Mexican Potatoes are similar to home fries covered in a tomato, pepper, onion, and spice mixture. Pretty good and a relatively unique side.<br/><br/>The Borracho Beans were oddly terrible. Desperately lacking salt, they also managed to lack flavor even though you can see the flavoring elements throughout. There was also an unpleasant aftertaste that was a bit disconcerning. I know I've tasted that before but cannot put my finger on the cause. I'm thinking a bit of unwanted fermentation perhaps?<br/><br/>I'm perplexed by the variability of the food items. Some are excellent, some downright bad.<br/><br/>I expect I will be back for some more Guiso!

I want to love this place. The service is always friendly and the building/decor is so unique but the food just doesn't hold up. Too much grease on the plate and not enough seasoning.

Rude waiter. My husband and I were treated so rudely and discourteously last Sat night that we will probably not go back. The food has always been good and it is a very nice restaurant. The waiter was a younger guy who spoke with no accent and he acted like he couldn't get us out of there fast enough. Very short and curt when I asked for a substitution and did not bring chips and salsa until we asked for it. Then we had to ask for queso also and by the time he brought that, our meal had come. To top it all of, my husband's taco chicken salad had a bone in it with marrow still inside. He never apologized just said, "I can take that item off your ticket." Never asked us if everything was ok, no mention of anything else I can bring you. Just brought the ticket and said he would be the cashier. No thank you or thanks for coming in. My husband gave him a tip which I would never have. He would have gotten a 0 in the tip area and a "very rude service" written in there.

Great food; great value. Been here twice. Had the lunch fajitas and they are delicious. Good portion size as well.

Perfect conditions for kitchen nightmares. The restaurant is extremely elaborate. Beautifully decorated on the inside and out. I was afraid it would of been out of our price range but that wasn't the case. The restaurant was almost empty and we were given our chips and salsa when seated and right away we could see that the cheese was warmed right out of a can . Salsa was good though... when we got our food it was just as bland, greasy and looked like complete crap. It's like some rich guy said what the hell let's open up a restaurant and put tons of money into the design of it and little to no thought on the food .you know.. why people go to restaurants. Service was good for us and felt bad for the waiter it's not his fault the food sucks . I basically paid for two bites of my food and my husband had to turn his taco into a burrito because it just turned to mush. Get Gordon Ramsey in there save that beautiful restaurant !
Rick
Visually impressive, but food was average. This restaurant is beautiful and imposing from the outside and is rather elaborate and interesting on the inside. I had lunch here recently and the service was pretty good. The menu seemed to offer the same basic things you see at all Mexican restaurants. I had chicken tacos that came with a big slog of beans and rice. The tacos were dripping with liquid, which ultimately turned the crunchy tortillas to mush. It was ok, but nothing to get excited about.

Horrible service. The food was ok. Nothing to take me back though. We only went because we received a gift card. We did not use the full amount and had about 20 left and we gave it to someone else there because we will not be back. The service was horrible.
Rsoonerdad53
Poor Service and the food not much better. Two thumbs down for Milagros.. I live on the south side, one day when I was taking care of other business we spotted Milagros. The restaurant looked busy. The parking lot was full of cars and Milagros looked very inviting. I told my wife we will have to try this place. On another day we made a special trip just to eat at Milagros. The building decor and design is top notch. When you look at the place you want to go inside and sample this food. That is where it stopped. We went inside and I have to say the service was very slow and inattentive. I was ok with the poor service, but when the food was served and tasted very bad I knew something is wrong at this restaurant. I do not plan to eat there again, and caution anyone thinking about it.
Stepwithmeokc
Not that impressed with overall service Waiter wasn't very knowledgable about menu. Brought out fajitas for us to share without plates or tortillas. Margaritas were watered down and the food, just okay. Would not return .

Chicken Fajitas. Very good!

Walked in on a Saturday at 1pm, minimal tables no one waiting, asked to sit on the patio where there was two other tables, hostess said the waiters were too busy and she couldn't move tables together, we asked if we could sit at two different tables, she said we could not, told her we would maybe try somewhere else...she said OK! Bye! We won't be back,!

If you don't like good service, this is your place. By appearances, the waiter neither enjoys his job nor the people he serves. I saw him twice at my table. First, while taking the order then again when he took my ice filled glass....never to return No drink refills, no salsa refills, nowhere to be seen. Eventually I went to the hostess stand and asked for a check. With the help of Albert Schweitzer and a few days jungle trek they found the waiter. <br/><br/> Upon clearing the low bar he set for himself he was in shock to find out that he, in reality, provided little to no service. To which he replied "You are not my only customer." At that point he handed me a general manager's card and told me "I don't want to hear about it."<br/><br/>As a business owner myself, I recognize that those statements indicate either a poorly trained employee or a toxic business culture. Either way, there are many Mexican food restaurants in this city. I will choose the ones that like customers in the future.
Sarah Yeargan
Absolutely horrible. First, we walked in after a six top and waited six min before a host even came up to the host stand to seat the people in front of us. They were not busy. The bar was covered in dirty glasses which is terrible management and I should've walked out then. The server was wonderful though and very sweet. The chips, queso, salsa, and margaritas were great. I ordered the flautas and my boyfriend ordered a burrito with the papas. My flautas tasted like Chinese food which indicates chicken out if a can. Sure enough, I pulled it out and it was can quality. Gross. The burrito was OKAY, but the papas tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a very long time, like what you would taste at a bad buffet. I gave my plate back to the server after I took one bite and told her I didn't like it, but I had filled up on chips so I didn't want anything else. The flautas were on the check and normally I would've just paid it, but I literally took ONE bite. She asked what was wrong so she could tell the manager and I just asked for him to come by so I could explain. She came back moments later with the new check. THE MANAGER DIDN'T EVEN TALK TO ME!!!! Way to piss a customer off when you could have just come by, not been a coward, and fixed it. I had heard bad things about this place but now I will definitely not be back. Ruined my night.
Jennifer Miller
Food was just terrible. Fajitas chicken <br/> looked microwaved. The vegetables were tasteless and cold. <br/>Not worth another try. #awful

I was utterly disappointed with this establishment, especially after reading a good review in the OKCGazette. The only flavor the food had was salt, which was considerable. We had chicken and beef enchiladas and both were barely edible - not repulsive, just unremarkable. Why waste time and money on something that is not even enjoyable? The wait staff was overworked with 11 tables and we spent time waiting on everything: drinks, ordering, food, and check. I've had better food and service at TacoBell.
Deb_magee
So-So at best. Our group of ten arrived about 3:45, and there were few customers at the time. The salsa was good, the chips were decent, but the queso was nonexistent. After requesting it, our waiter finally brought some. It was kind of a comedy of errors. Our server just simply wasn't up for the challenge of ten, and we were as congenial and cooperative as possible, We used our "please" and "thank you's" often, but after awhile one gets weary of asking for items repeatedly and, finally, just goes personally and gets it. Items such as water. Three young male staff were just kinda hanging out, and we attempted to enlist their help with service. Their help was minimal. The food was pretty good. Not great, but decent. Certainly better is available elsewhere. We had a good time visiting, but at least two in the party said they wouldn't return, primarily due to the inferior service. Our hostess later said she felt bad about our disappointing experience and called the manager, who, she said, was a delightful gentleman who expressed sorrow at our disappointing dining experience. He said they were shorthanded due to the weather. Yet those young staff members were doing very little while we were there. Surprisingly, we learned that our waiter was the 'head waiter'. Our hostess said they'd eaten here several times and had excellent service from Ariana but that this 'head waiter' had also waited on them in the past, and he was unable to provide good service to a party of two, let alone ten. Would we return? Not likely.

Disappointed in the reviews. I was passing thru OKC when I noticed a tex-mex place called Los Milagros...their exterior landscaping was extraordinary, exquisite actually. We had already committed to dinner elsewhere but I thought 'if someone cares enough to maintain a gorgeous exterior such as this, then the food and service inside must be amazing also.' So, I vowed to eat at Milagros on the very next trip into the city.<br/>Now, having checked out the menu and reviews on Urbanspoon, I don't think I'll be making that visit after all. <br/><br/>Doesn't the owner or manager read the reviews?
Michael Patton
Same as the other negative reviews. The food is okay, service was non existent, but the building was pretty to see. Too bad I wasn't eating the building...
Jlh
1st and last time eating here. The only good thing to say is the salsa was good. Everything else sucked including the service.

Horrible treatment , stopped in for lunch around 2:00 and waited several minutes for someone to seat us. Finally the host wondered out grabbed some menus and told us this way. We were taken to a booth in the bar and we told him we would prefer a table , he seemed rather put out with us walked past 6 bar tables and took us to another part of the restaurant and wanted us to sit with a family of 5. We declined and asked to see a manager. The host told us he wasn't sure the manager was there and I asked him to please go check. No one ever came to speak with us so we finally left passing at least 30 or more empty tables. Not my idea of customer service.

My boyfriend and i are mexican and tex-mex food addicts. we love to try new places and see if anything can top our favorite usual spots. we tried this place hearing good things about it, however i now wonder if those people have no taste buds.<br/>the place was beautiful and huge, but empty. there were only two other tables of people that were there. our waiter did not tend to us at all, and we are never difficult customers. when we needed a refill or something of the sort, he was nowhere to be found. what service when you are only service two other tables.<br/>i ordered the spinach enchiladas because you can always tell how fresh the food is by their spinach. my boyfriend ordered the fish tacos at the waiter's suggestion. he said his fish tacos, which were supposed to be their specialty, were somewhat bland and he could tell it was frozen fish. <br/>my spinach enchiladas were completely inedible. the spinach was CANNED SPINACH. i don't prefer it, but i have seen and can stand frozen spinach on enchiladas. but this was CANNED spinach. with no seasoning or anything added. disgusting.<br/>there is never an excuse for a restaurant to serve you canned food. ever.<br/>we will never go back again.

We are very particular whenever it comes to eating "Mexican" food. Being Oklahoma and Texas natives that have been in Kansas/Missouri for some time and unable to find decent Mexican food there, we really enjoy stopping in here at Casa De Los Milagros as we travel to and from Texas. The salsa is incredibly fresh tasting, the chips are perfectly crispy and salted, the complimentary cheese dip that comes out is delicious. The food is not bland, very well seasoned and fresh tasting. The Dos Equis XX is AMAZING!!! Our service has been outstanding an the restaurant as a whole is unique, beautiful, and clean-even the bathrooms! This is a big deal for me. I highly recommended this restaurant.
Pleepleus
Bland. Overpriced. Understaffed... ¿¡How are you understaffed on Cinco de Mayo!? My server did well to keep up; however, I won't be back.
Cngates
Great quality food and service! Not sure how Zarate is rated the way it is, but Milagros is a true gem!
V
My boyfriend and I have been coming here for about a year now, only a hand full of times. The first few times the service was good, although now you have to ask for the complementary queso. I ordered the bistek ranchero with no beans. He ordered two chimichanga, one chicken, the other beef, along with sprite. He received water though and two beef chimichangas.when they brought the chicken one out upon request, it was cold to the touch. My steak was a little dry, but still okay. Besides the food, our server was very nice and the architecture is open and inviting with even a large shark tank. Maybe it was an off day, but we'll have to see.
Flyguy
Went here Friday night with the fam. Here are the negatives. Chips and salsa were a bust. Menu was boring. $5.75 for kids meal and it doesn't even come with a drink. Positives: I ordered tacos al carbon. The meat was delish. It also came with a side of ranchera sauce that was pretty special. I'll go back just for it. My wife ordered quesadillas which she thought were excellent. Our service was very good. In the end, we left satisfied. If you want safe mexican food like most of the joints in okc this place will suit. Slightly better than Mama Roja in my opinion save the view. Not even close to Yucatan or Los Cabos.

The decor was beautiful but that was it. The food was terrible, bland. Servers weren't very friendly either. Won't be returning.

This place is great! Awesome food and service and they are Pro 2nd Amendment! I will go back!

EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!. There were 3 adults and 1 child in our group. All of us were pleased with the menu options and each ordered something different--tortilla soup, fish tacos, quesadillas, chicken strips. Everyone found the food to be excellent!! The service was great!!! and a colorful fish tank was a delightful way to keep a child entertained while us adults were talking. We'll certainly be returning!!
GTK
Average...ho hum. Chips...just ok, Salsa...ok, queso...ok, food...ok. There was nothing remarkable at all as far as Tex Mex or Mexican goes. Service was really good but Diego's is better and Iguana is much better.<br/>I'd go back but wouldnt cross town for it.
Summer
Great Service And Food. I had a wonderful experience there tonight. Our server was fantastic and I really liked the food. Chelinos is my all time favorite mexican place but Milagros did have good food,to me it was flavorful and not bland at all. The server didn't even charge us for our dessert! We had a great time.
Lynda Zubillaga
A wondeful experince!!! we love it!!! , excelent attention!!!
Fran B
Ordered one child's meal, 2 margaritas at about $8 apiece and one large nacho that we were going to split.we were told we would be charged $5.99 to split our nachos? After ordering drinks and two meals? If I sit in the bar I can have drinks and not pay for setups, but when I order two meals I'm charged extra to not waste food? We left, went to Chellinos.. Split nachos, great margaritas and the child's meal was cheaper. At 79% good reviews they need to review their policies. There's alot of other good places to eat.. Just sayin.
Chad B
Got up and walked out. Won't go back. Tried to charge us an extra $5.99 for splitting nachos, even though we ordered margaritas and a kids meal for my 4 year old son. Ridiculous.

A Deposit for Reservations?!. First I would like to state that I'm not a current or past employee of Milagros who is disgruntled and writing a negative review. I am a paying customer who has been to Milagros numerous times. I called Milagros today to make a lunch reservation for a group of 10-12 of us who gets together every few months for lunch. The reservation was to be for tomorrow at lunch, so I called almost 24 hrs in advance. Milagros is a central location for all of us. The restaurant has never once been even halfway filled at lunch time, but I've always made a reservation because of the size of our group - as a courtesy to the staff at Milagros and so our group can get in and out more quickly. Today when I called for reservations I was told that for a group of 12, I would need to put down a $120 deposit, and (i.e.) if two of our group didn't show up - $20 would be taken out of my deposit for those two who didn't show. I couldn't believe I was hearing this. I was NOT going to pay a deposit, so had decided since our group already made a decision about where we were eating, that I would leave work early to save a table. The more I thought of this, the more I thought I was surely getting my facts wrong. So I called back this evening and spoke to a manager. He confirmed what I was told earlier on the phone - $120 deposit for a group of 12! I told him I've never seen the restaurant even halfway full, so what would it matter if two people didn't show up - it's not like their meals are being prepared ahead of time. He told me it was because of seating - and they would be out two meals?! I was trying to stress that they would have gained the profit on 10 meals that they didn't already have, but he didn't see this and was not going to budge, so now our group will go elsewhere tomorrow and I'll never go to Milagos again. Like many of the reviewers, I've never felt the food was that great - but it's a beautiful restaurant, and the staff has always been very accomodating and friendly. I wonder if the ownership of Milagros knows this is going on?!

Bad. Really bad.. I've had canned tamales and frozen TV dinners that tasted much better. Honestly! (Actually, I'm eating one right now, and it really is much, much better than what I was served Saturday night.) And their "HUGE" pork tamale was about the same size as one of the canned ones. If it hadn't been so dry and tasteless, I might have thought it was from a can. They serve tortilla chips (cold) and salsa and cheese dip while you're waiting for your dinner order. The salsa was very good, but the cheese dip was worse than the canned stuff you can get in huge quantities at Sam's Club or Costco. And they pour that on their burritos, too. Really, just a gross meal. The wait staff, however, was very good - friendly and attentive, without being bothersome. It's not enough to make it worth going back, though!

We used to come here a lot but now they charge you $6 to share an entree.

Went here for the first time last night. Restaurant is beautiful. Seated immediately. Waitress was prompt, friendly, and got everything we ordered correct. Food came out very fast and was very hot and delicious! Prices are very reasonable! Can't wait to come back!

Basically, what everyone else said. I agree with the review "not bad but why bother?" It was okay. The server was pleasant. Like everyone else has said, the building is nice. The food is ok, the cheese sauce was weird (Velveeta perhaps?) . With so many choices in Oklahoma City, it was nothing to rave about or worth visiting again. Try Abels in Warr Acres if you're looking for good food without the fancy building. Try Mama Rojas if you want good food with some scenery.

Not bad but why bother?. This is the El Charrito's we used to eat at in Paseo 50 years ago. (The picture of the elderly man was the guy who worked there.) That was before speciality restaurants or even frozen dinners. It was OK because eating out was a big deal in 1960. But with so much better on every street corner why waste your money on old, bland, tired pseudo-Tex Mex?

Doesn't like it. My wife and I made a trip to OKC from Tulsa for a Dr. appoint. After her Dr. visit, Casa de los Milagros was right around the corner with a beautiful building. Pulled into the parking lot for lunch, 11:45, and place looked like it was closed, (first red flag). We saw a couple go in, so figured we had just beat the crowd. <br/><br/>Greeter seated us in large open dining room, and left the menus. Looked inside and got a sticker shock, but figured the portions must be ample looking at the prices, (second red flag). I ordered chicken fajitas and my wife ordered a beef Chimichanga. We got our order quite promptly, (third red flag). <br/><br/>At other Mex restaurants, you can hear and smell the fajitas before they leave the kitchen. These snuck up on us. They were on our table before we ate three chips w/salsa, which, by the way were quite good. The fajitas, however, didn't deserve such praise. The chicken tasted like it came out of a can and they took a curling iron and branded what looked like grill designs on the meat. Fajitas are usually prepared with fajita seasoning, that is sometimes marinated to enhance the flavor. These things didn't even have any imitation salt on them. There wasn't even any salt or pepper on the table to give you the option of seasoning them yourself. <br/><br/>Usually the onions and peppers are grilled in the juices of the meat to season them and cooked until they are nearly transparent. Not these. The peppers were still bright red, and the onions, a pretty purple color, and very very crunchy. It was like biting into a crisp carrot, they were so crunchy, and by the way, no seasoning on these either.<br/><br/>Chimichangas, usually come with taco seasoning on them as well as cheese inside. Not these. My wife said that it tasted like they just browned the meat, stuffed it into a tortilla, then deep fried it, at 900 degrees. Verrrrrrrry crispy. <br/><br/>The refried beans were crunchy, and mostly whole is a thick soup. The portions that we were expecting to be ample and figured to take home the rest for another meal, wasn't even enough to fill us up and satisfy our hunger pains. <br/><br/>Someone earlier posted that Ted's was just down the street, Go there instead. <br/>I have never eaten at Ted's, but it can't be any worse than this place. <br/><br/>The place looks nice though.

Great place for lots of people (or a small group too!). We recently had a board of directors meeting held at Milagros. Not only was the food was delicious, the service was fantastic and the atmosphere is really nice. The location is also great when people are coming from all over the metro area. It was a great success!
Chris
Excellent food and service. The shrimp cocktail is very good.
Tina Allen
I love to go there and order their street tacos and order their specialty margaritas.
Rick Cain
Not worth it. Beautiful building, average food that's usually salty, a bit overcooked and somewhat dry. Their mexican soup is okay though, but the portion is not generous for the price.
TheSoupReport
Mediocre food. Got the feeling we were paying for the honor of eating in a place with nice bathroom sinks. Not worth it.

Super good!!!!!. This is really good place I definetly like their food and the service, and the owners are Nice, I recommend this restaurant and try their dulce de leche chessecake!!!!!!!!!

LISTEN UP.... OK. I'M about to let EVERYONE KNOW WHAT'S UP WITH MILAGRO'S!<br/><br/> If you want to enjoy great food, service and experience with this place, you MUST ASK FOR JAKE OR CHASE when you enter the building. ANYONE WHO who has the pleasure of being waited on by either Chase or Jake, and doesn't come away completely satisifed with their efforts just needs to eat in!!! IF YOU have a bad experience with either of these two gentlemen I will personaly take you out to lunch or dinner! BET, THAT!
Jon
Sign on the door says your legal carry firearm is welcome! Oh, and the food is great, too!

Nothing good... I gave this restaurant three different tries over a three week period I thought it might get better but it didn't. First time was dine in experience and I could have gone to another restaurant, eaten and come back before I got service. "IT WAS SLOW!!!" I had been warned of this before I ever went. Second chance was take-out. I phoned in three meals and it cost me $52, commenting that it took three calls of hanging up and calling back to get the bartender (Jeremy) on the phone finally. I was told it would be ten minutes, so I drove to the restaurant and spent another 20 minutes waiting on "Jeremy" to put my order together. After I got home, the tortillas that I was told were for sure in the bag, were not. Calling back and spending another 12 minutes to talk with Jeremy again, I was told I could come pick them up, along with the rice that was forgotten also. The third experience was a phone in for just beans, rice, tortillas, chips and salsa. After two phone calls and me then deciding to drive to the restaurant while holding, I wasted 28 minutes of my time trying to find management and present my phone to him with exact holding time and had no such luck. Returning to the parking lot "Jeremy" answered the phone stating "sorry for your wait, how may I help you?" Beans, rice and tortillas were $36 for an order to feed four. I called Ted's which was a little further away and got excellent service and $12 for the exact order. I will never, and I mean NEVER recommend Milagros to anyone. Not even my worst enemy.....!!!!!

Good experience!. Went there today for lunch the food was delicious and our server Jake was just wonderful at making sure we had everything we needed at our table. Great service and great food!
CMoore
Not so good. We went when they first opened(took years to finish building) decor was wonderful...ordered cheese ench dinners...(picture was on table..topped with chili)when order came..no chili topping,,we asked waiter(he barely spoke english) he brought us a small bowl of what tasted like canned chili..never went back....

Never had a chance to eat here. The restaurant says they are open until 11:00 PM, however, I was there at 10:35, people stll eating inside and doors were locked. When I called from parking lot they answered the phone and when I asked why they were closed I was told they decided to close early, no other reason. I called to speak with manager today, was left on hold 15 minutes and then told he was not in. This could have been shared at the beginning of the phone call. HORRIBLE customer skills
Bartender
This place is incredible. Gorgeous building and good drinks and food! New Laredo margarita was quite refreshing.
Rach
I love this restaurant! Food is excellent& ambience is even better. Service is a tiny bit slow, but it wouldn't keep me away.
Sarah
Good food, good service. We've been here twice now, and the food is excellent. Both times I've ordered the carne asada tacos al carbon, and they are very, very good. A little pricier than some of the other restaurants around, but still very good. The first time we went, the service was great. The second, it was far from. And just prior to us finishing our dinner, our server brought out complimentary dessert for the table. We didn't even mention how disappointed we were. It's nice that they bought my continuing patronage with cheesecake, even though it smelled off bribery, I still am a huge sucker for caramel smothered cheesecake. I can say with confidence that they do care about their customers, and we will be returning.

Tasty Meat. Had the Chile Rellenos, and the Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas. The shredded chicken used in both was outstanding, very moist with lots of flavor. Everything else was what you would expect at any Mexican restaurant. I've had much better chile rellenos at Iguana Lounge and Chelino's. However, I can't say enough how good the shredded chicken was. Makes me want to try their pork and beef dishes next time. Service was friendly and prompt.

For me, 3 strikes and your out!. My wife and I ate here when it first opened and were very impressed with the service and food. Since that point we have gone back three more times hoping for the same experience... well that never happened, and a a matter of fact, it got worse each time.<br/><br/>The last time we went was for a birthday party a few nights ago and the service was sub par. It wasn't really busy that night, so there was no real excuse for our waitress. She forgot to order our friend's food (he was the first to order), never brought our horchata (forgot to order it too because it wasn't on the check), and was always asking if we wanted more margaritas even though we said no thanks plenty of times. Then it took forever to get the checks only to find out she had added 20% gratuity to the tickets. Wouldn't have been a big deal if I thought she had done a good job!<br/><br/>We didn't complain except amongst ourselves and just left never to return!

Petty Practice. Today (12/30/2010) at 12:30pm about nine of my friends and I had lunch at this restaurant after a meeting . We had been there before and were satisfied with the food, the service, etc. We even expected the gratuity to be added to the bill (for 11 people, including one child), which it was. <br/><br/>One of our group was the 6-yr-old grand-daughter of one of my friends. This little girl (being only six) had insisted on fast food tacos (her favorite). Her grandmother told her she would take her to get said taco after we were through eating. This satisfied the girl; who sat quietly, had a soft drink and ate a few chips - no salsa or cheese sauce.<br/><br/>When the very efficient waitress brought our food she asked what the child was having. When she was told the child wouldn't be ordering, imagine our amazement when the waitress advised that a $4.99 set-up charge would be added to the bill, so she might as well order a child's plate. So, her grandmother ordered a child's taco plate, but the girl didn't want side dishes, so she brought just the plain taco. The girl took two bites of it and said it wasn't as good as the fast food tacos she loves so well.<br/><br/>Now, I completely understand the idea behind the setup charge. I could easily go into a Mexican restaurant and eat my fill of chips, sauces, tortillas, etc. I know they are not free to make and that the restaurant must make a profit. However, that small, thin child did not eat enough of the chips to make even a small dent in the basket, yet her grandmother had to pay $5 (plus tax and gratuity) for something that was neither wanted nor eaten. <br/><br/>This grandmother and I go out to eat together often, and we like this restaurant because the food is great and it has a lite menu that is great for seniors. However, she said today it would be a long, long time before she came back.<br/><br/>I was going to write the restaurant directly and not come through a forum, but I saw no place to do that. I would appreciate some feedback from a manager. This is a practice that needs to be handled on a case-by-case basis.
...
Best service n food. Went there the food was amazing but the serive was the best our server was luis we will be back..

Casa de los milagros. We did not get to get to eat here, we did not stay long enough!!! as we arrived we asked to have a booth (the main manager was the host). he seemed frustrated, he took us back next to the kitchen and seated us. the booth's table was very rickety and had to be placed at a certain angle by the host! the table had to large holes in the top as well from being gouged by something! the host turned to a waiter who seemed to be agitated as the host advise him "they wanted a booth" the waiter shook his head and gave a large frown and rolled his eyes (seemed very upset about us asking for a booth)! he stated to us "what do you want to drink" no greeting or smile! my wife ordered a water and i ordered a coke. the waiter looked even more irritated didn't say anything and walked away! i then called him back and asked to change my wife's drink to a diet coke. waiter rolled his eyes again and walked off. i asked the waiter to come back again and asked him if there was a problem as it seemed he was totally upset that we were even there! he said nothing shook his head and walked off!<br/>now we got up and made contact with manager and advise him of what had happened. he stated it was probably a bus boy and didn't speak english! i told him it was the waiter not the bus boy. the manager just stood there looking at us and said nothing. after a long pause i advised the manager that this was the first time and last time to come here!

Terrible service. The place was not busy and we waited forever for our server. We were not offered a kid's menu even though we walked in with a three year old. I sent back my black beans because they were terrible and our sever looked at me like I was an idiot and did not offer me anything else. Lousy service, mediocre food.
Sarahak_92
Good food, bad first impression. We visited on a Saturdayin December, around lunch. The food was good, our server was good but we almost did not stay. We walked in and had to wait at the counter for a few minutes while the greeters held a conversation. Finally they looked at us like, What are you doing here? My husband actually had to tell them, We'd like a table for 4....They either did not have enough training to know what to do or were not interested in doing their job... After waiting 15 minutes to get a table, we walked into a room that was about 1/3 full. Like I said before, the food was good, not really better than any other Tex Mex in OKC..I know the greeter thing is a small issue but they are the first impression you get of a place and with all the competition (esp Tex Mex) you would think they would want to stand out with great service, not just good..

Good! Nice atmosphere and free chips and queso and salsa! Like the salsa!
FoodNWine
If you go here, just make a note that it is a BYOSS restaurant. Bring your own seasonings and service. Both times I have been, it took the bartender 5 minutes to greet us at his service bar. He wasn't busy either time, he just seemed to really be enjoying whatever new applications he must have had on his phone. Both times the queso came out like thick sludge, room temperature at best, and with zero flavor whatsoever. The salsa tastes like it is made from canned tomatoes, but isn't all that bad. I felt bad asking the bartender to bring the setup to us. At first it was because he seem irritated we were there, but then after eating it, I felt bad because he had to serve people garbage. The beer he served us on tap wasn't very cold and tasted kind of flat. Once the food came out we were pretty excited, as neither of us had eaten all day. What a disappointment. The chicken in the enchiladas tastes like it's from a can, the beef tasted like I would imagine cat food does, and the beans and rice were as bland as possible. Ever heard of salt and pepper? Cumin? Chili powder? Garlic? Anything to make the food taste like something. Unfortunately this seems to be an open the can and serve restaurant, because there is just no way home cooked food could be this bad. Ugh! Spare yourselves!
Layla
The best!!!. We are from the Dallas area. Our favorite Mexican place has been in Bedford Texas until now. This is our #1 place. My husband and I have our weekly lunch date here every Friday. Today I'm meeting my girlfriends there so they can experience this unique experience. The decor is beautiful, the service is wonderful, and the food is the best. Check it out!
Stanley
Service.... Busy lunch, and no manager working?...Talk about bad service!!
Hunter Christian
Best Mexican in Oklahoma. No doubt about it, head and shoulders better than the rest! Sometimes the place is so packed it is hard to get the very best service but for the most part everything will be great' without a doubt the best set-up in town as well. Try a coronita-margarita or a new Laredo margarita, or if you truly appreciate quality make a fine selection of one of about 60 tequila's to chose as one of your options for a margarita... I think the best is Don Julio or Corzo. They also have the Patron Platinum Silver and Bordeos!!! The platinum is about 30$ a 2oz shot and Bordeos is 70$, but very well worth it for a sophisticated tequila drinker.
Jeff
Very good unique Mexican food.
JD Ward
Horrible. If you want to find a place that will make you appreciate Taco Bell and Taco Bueno, then this is the place for you. I had the Chili Rellenos and my best guess is that they warmed them up in a microwave, because the coating was mushy and falling away from the chilis. The beans, chicken, and cheese sauce tasted like they were from cans. I told the waiter and one of the managers that the food was awful and they acted like they didn't care. <br/>I will say two positive things about the place--it is a nice building and you can get immediate seating, even on a Friday night.
GG
Nice. The food was good. The atmosphere was fantastic. I love the fountain. My only dislike was the marguerita. Otherwise two thumbs up!!!
Bricktown Law Firm
This place has the strongest and best drinks in town, not to mention the best queso and salsa.. the food is authentic Mexican so if you prefer Tex-mex stick with taco bell/ Ted's... Also this place has the coolest decor and atmospher.. For the best drinks sit at the bar and tell the bartenders you like your drinks strong, or whatevrer you want. All in all it's the oldest Mexican restaurant family owned in Oklahoma and by far the best! This place used to be called Laredo's and was located on 63rd by classen.
AmberV
I used to love this place!! The last time I went it was horrible! The only thing worth eating was the chips and queso! I don't know what happened but they need to go back! They have changed their rice, and it was BAD! The service was not great, and it was so loud in the place you had a headache when you left! I would say go there, but it is very inconsistent!
The Wes
This place has the best Queso cheese in town. Interesting decor and our service was pretty good. Value for amount of food is fair and location is decent. Overall a great expereiance.
Jennifer Walker
Bad service. Rude waiters bad managment. Charge you for complimentary items. DO NOT eat here!
Akedakelone
REALLY LIKED IT. I've been there twice. The service I got was great and the food was good. I'll be back. Also, convenient location.
Frederick
Not a good place to eat.... Average food, worst service i ever had.
Rebecca
Me and some friends went there after work. The food that I got was amazing, cheese chimichangas, but the service was horrible. It took forever to get drinks and to even see our waiter.
Mel
Foods not bad, kind of bland. The service is great, especially for the lunch rush.
Alyssa
Okay. The food was fine, but nothing to get excited about. We had good service, but it was not busy at all when we were there on a Friday early evening.
Zada
Queso was Cheesy Goodness. My friend took me here and I liked it so much, I took my husband here the next week. The chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce were yummy and the portions were huge. The best part was the queso. Very thick and with a slight kick at the end. Good stuff! The service has been great both times I have been here and I will go here again!

Wonderful Restaurant Experience. Looking for a place to eat, we decided to stop here for dinner on Saturday night. We found this beautiful restaurant inviting and stylish and its food scrumptious and enjoyable. There was something on the menu for everyone, from the picky eater to the connoisseur. The service was impeccable and the food was perfectly seasoned. We will definitely be frequenting this great spot!
Carlos Membrila
Beautifully decorated but the food left a lot to be desired. Everything tasted like it had been prepared well ahead of time and served to order. Won't be going back.
Maria_rio34108
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!. OMG. This was the worst of everything, Horrible service, brought the wrong food out, didn't understand that we wanted beef and not chicken, smelled of bathroom odors and floor cleaner, and tasted like Taco Bell. Go read the google reviews. This is the worst place that I have been to in Oklahoma City. It was just bad.
Britten
The service here was terrible. We were forgotten about. We left before ordering because it had been over 20 minutes with no service. Even the hostest was bad in seating us. I was very disappointed.
Bill Poling
Wonderful place. Was driving by and saw Casa De Los Milagros. Took the family there on a Saturday night. Nice atmosphere and wonderful staff. Wife and I had the Mexican Tacos (beef) very good meal and plenty of food for the money. Kids had more than enough food, it could have been a meal for an adult. The chips were fresh, the salsa and queso both had terrific flavor.<br/><br/>We're coming back and bringing friends this weekend
Window Seat Please
I love this place! I think it is my new favorite mexican place! The verde chicken enchilladas are wonderful and the tacos al carbon are amaizingly tender and seasoned to perfection! I always need more salt or lime for my guacamole but not here. The waiters are always so attentive and friendly. Omar was our waiter today and he rocked! What a friendly atmoshphere for kids and family too. The waiters delivering the salsa, queso, and chips litterally ran to the tables to make sure customers were served qickly. And our food was out muy pronto as well! Don't leave without saving room for the sopapilla! It will knock your socks off with its fluffy self drizzled with chocolate! Make sure you find this place with the big blue dome!

I usually don’t re-blog about restaurants, but we had not visited Milagros in a while, and I got something new on this visit. We visited last Thursday, as we had two events to attend, and Milagros was pretty much right in between them.
