Fantastic food and awesome prices! I had Chicken crema which had chicken, mushrooms, spinach, and spaghetti in a white cream sauce. It was delicious and less than $10!
The restaurant is quite large but there was hardly anyone there. Don't let that scare you though, I think it's just due to its location on Reno. The restaurant was clean, the food fresh, and the service prompt. They also have a good selection of wine and beer. I'm going back, you should check it out!
The atmosphere of the restaurant is strange, but the food is good. The rib eye steak is really good and the shrimp pasta was very good. The prices are very reasonable. You get an average salad with most entrees and you get garlic knot bread rolls as a starter.
Very good authentic Italian food, reasonably priced with great service. Wil definetly return. My wife had chicken picatta and she thought it was devine. I had a shrimp pasta dish that was very good as well
This place was really great. They start you out with home made yeast rolls. I had the Tortellini Modo Mino. The white sauce was different than what I have had at other places. It was creamy, but light. The people I was with had a pizza, egg plant parm, and the broccoli pasta. The broccoli pasta wasn't great. It just had oil for the sauce. The atmosphere was romantic and comfortable. Great place for a date night and prices were SO reasonable. Most dishes were under $10. We all decided that my dish was the best. If you love Italian food, I recommend trying this place out!
The atmosphere is a little strange, but the food is really good. We had the calamari, the cheese bread, Fettuccine Alfredo, and manicotti. All of the dishes were very good, and good sizes (not huge, not small).
Portofino's has a great atmosphere, a very affordable menu and flavors a lot like northern Italy
Stopped in for lunch and was sure what to expect. Very pleasantly surprised! Lettuce for the salad was fresh. Lunch size portion was plenty. The food was very tasty. The service was good. We will stop by again now that we know about it.
Great Good and Friendly Owners. Lunch was wonderful as usual. Had enough to bring home supper.. Good food , great prices , friendly service .. What more can you ask for?
Best Italian in Town. For reasonable prices and quality Italian food, this is the place to go. The staff (waiters, manager, etc) are all family members. The bread that comes with the salad is really good, and for the complete meal, it is $7.95. I know a lot of people on Urbanspoon thinks that food has to be expensive to be good. You aren't going to find pizza better than here.
I had lunch today and was incredibly surprised by the Chicken Piccata. The flavors were incredible!! Just enough lemon, capers, chicken, butter, garlic--I can't wait to go back! And super affordable. Loved it!
To be honest, the outside of this building does not do this restaurant justice. The building looks very old and dated. However, the inside of this building is decorated exquisitely and I was shocked by how large this restaurant is. It is very clean and well maintained throughout. BUT THE FOOD IS AMAZING! We had a group of four and each of us ordered a different dish. The Alfredo sauce was freshly made when we ordered it, and the taste was decadent. They also have a "pink" sauce, which is alfredo and marinara combined together, if you're not a fan of the richness of fresh Alfredo sauce. The waitress also informed us that any sauce could be paired with any pasta on the menu. The bread was also baked fresh and was soft and hot. I wouldn't recommend the veal, as it was very thin, fried, and overcooked. The chicken was great though! The price of the food was extremely cheap and the four of us ate for ~$40. I will definitely return to this gem of a restaurant.
Portofino's is a quiet little Italian eatery situated in a cozy spot off of Reno. The house-made marinara was wonderful, the waitress was knowledgeable about the menu, the food came out hot and fast. No little pasta shop I've been to can match the price with the quality, nor the quantity! There was the perfect amount on my plate, and I didn't leave feeling like I had over-ate.
The cannoli is very very good I love the desert there .the food and service were good. I like the boat in the middle of the floor.
I love it here. Great food at great prices. It tastes far better than olive garden and zios combined. Staff is always friendly, even when it's closing time.
This is an awesome family owned restaurant, and the family is actually from Italy. They have great food, great portions (as long as you like leftovers), all at an excellent price. If you are within, I think, 10 or maybe 15 miles of the place they will deliver. They are a great family and they try to treat their customers as they would treat each other. We have never had a bad meal here nor have we ever had poor service! I'm not sure of their hours but I know they are closed on Mondays.
Wonderful experience! Stopped while visiting from out of state. We were a little concerned by the lack of cars on a Saturday during normal dinner rush. Food was excellent. Sauces were obviously fresh made; portion sizes were more than generous; everything came out hot not stored under a heat lamp; calamari was tender with delicious breading not too heavily done. Service was amazing; very quick and friendly; no waiting for refills or having dishes removed. Prices were very reasonable. Overall, very pleased with this place.
I love this restaurant! The atmosphere is so amazing and feels like home. The food is even better! I have not tried a dish we did not enjoy eating. Their homemade lasagna is to die for! The owner is very friendly and checks on you. He enjoyed chatting back and forth with us and even answered my kids' silly questions.
We stopped in here for the first time at lunch on a Saturday, and were absolutely delighted! Phenomenal, authentic food from a wonderful, family owned restaurant. Despite the spaciousness of the interior, they made it feel cozy and inviting! The bread is obviously homemade. I had the Italian combo and my wife had the shrimp scampi, they were both fantastic! We will be coming back here very soon. Helen and her family seem like really nice people, and the food is killer, everybody needs to check out this gem.
Very impressed. We were running late so we didn't get to the restaurant until about 25 minutes before closing. We asked if it was too late. The waiter said it was no problem to come on in. We were treated very well with no sense that we were being rushed. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. The owner even stopped by the table to make sure everything was ok. The entrees were fabulous! Excellent flavours and the pasta tasted like home made. Good sized portions for a very reasonable price! Two of us ended up taking home enough for lunch the next day for 25 dollars pls tip. Definitely will go back. Often.
Great Italian food that is priced very well! The inside looks very nice, very friendly staff and the food was fantastic. Had the chicken picatta and was very impressed with it. Tried some of my kids spaghetti and it seemed really good, I absolutely loved their marinara sauce. If you are looking for great Italian food this is a great place to go!
