I (spouse AND I) were completely satisfied with this Mexican restaurant. We already love Mexican food and I am NOT talking about Taco Bell. This food is SSSOOO good and SSSOOO fresh you can't help but love it!.. I too am sorry the other guy (in reviews) did not enjoy his food/service, but as the other guy suggested, he was not looking for fine Mexican food. I loved it! I am going back several times before I head back to home. The Traveler.
Wonderful mexican cuisine, the fajitas are the best around. Never been disappointed with services, food, or drinks. Managers are always concerned with their guests and their pleasurable experience.
Authentic and fresh. Excellent customer service from the hostess to the cashier, food was service timely, plenty of food, and very reasonable.
Good food and service. Very reasonable place to eat for both lunch and dinner. Never had a bad meal here. Place gets very crowded during lunch. Very popular !!
Authentic & Great!!!! For t.... Authentic & Great!!!!
For those who have eaten in Mexico and/or the Mayan Rivera, Zapata's food is right on par. I've noticed negative comments about the salsa being mainly chopped tomatoes with a few herbs and watery, this is authentic. Exactly what you will be served in Mexico! Please go in with the understanding that Zapata's is not a true Tex Mex resteraunt, it is more of a MEXICAN Resteraunt!
That being said, my wife and I love Zapata's! It's a little piece of Cozumel right here in OKC! One suggestion I give friends and family is to order from the specialties menu. Don't just get the typical enchilada dinner...try the Talipia, pork chops, the steak or grilled shrimp. These are all items you will find in Mexico and they are all cooked the same as if though you were sitting at a beach grill, with the Gulf breeze blowing through!

Ole mi amigo. The server was very very nice and professional, the food was great. the lady at the front entrance receiving guests was as clueless as a goose in a hail storm. Move her to the parking lot and you'll have a 10 star place....
Weekend getaway. My friends and I come to oklahoma city very often and we stay on Meridian a lot. We have always past by the restaurant but never stopped. We normally stop at Pancho's but tonight we decided to change it up. Our waitress was very personable and friendly. My friend had the tamale dinner and said it was really good. I had the relleno dinner and it was delicious. My other friend had the burrito loco and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great atmosphere and the service was great as well as the prices were great.
We enjoyed the food, service was good and price about average.
Good food. This is better than your run of the mill Tex-Mex restaurant like Chelinos. It may not be the best place in town but the food is very good and if you stay away from the Tex-Mex items and focus more on the Authentic Mexican items like the meat dishes and the guisos. I talked last night with a Chef who was eating at the restaurant and he liked the food. The chef is someone who stays away from Tex-Mex. Interestingly enough it is the people who have ordered Tex-Mex items that have complained. I ordered one of my favorite dishes from there which is the Pescado Empapelado which is fish and shrimp baked with vegetables cooked in their own juices which came with Rice, Beans, and Salad with sliced avocados.
It had been awhile since eating at Zapatas but decided to stop in for lunch. I ordered the Salsa Especial which was delicious. For lunch I ordered the lunch enchiladas with rice and beans which were good.
Wonderful restaurant with a welcoming vibe. The food was quickly served and delicious. The friendly service was quick to ensure you left with a full belly and a warm smile. Definitely I must visit. My $20-30 is based on several of the Margaritas that complement the dishes perfectly.
Delicious! I called the restaurant directly to order pick up Chile rellano a la Mexicana, and churros. I was pleasantly surprised it came with all the fixins! Everything was cooked perfect and tasted fantastic! I’ll definitely order again or eat here! When I picked up my food the restaurant looked really cool on the inside. 😀
Good Mexican food restaurant. I had the taco lunch special, and I enjoyed it. The tacos were crunchy and greasy, but not too greasy. The shells didn't get soggy like a lot of places. Lots of cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. I'm not a fan of refried beans. So I double rice instead. The rice is good. It reminds me of El Chicos. The service was good. My waiter was friendly. The girl at the counter could have been a little nicer, but she wasn't really mean. Just seemed ready to get off work. The have a large projector screen on the back wall. So it was cool to watch some soccer for lunch. I'll definitely go back.
Walking into Zapatas brought back memories of several family-owned Mexican restaurants I visit when touring south of the U.S. border.
I loved the music and colorful interior that greeted us and the selection of queso and salsas did a great job at whetting our appetite for the meal to come.
The portions were generous and I was not disappointed with my Chicken Taco Soup which came with a side of rice. The aromas and flavors of the food were spot on and our meal to wrap up the evening hit a spot.
Looking forward to my next visit for the drink offerings.
Great seasoning amazing flavor everything was delicious. Awesome staff thank you!
I'm all about good customer service and great food and this place definitely has both. Great selection of food and dessert . The frozen margarita is really good. The food has great flavor and plenty if you want to take home.
Amazing dinner! We’re visiting from Tulsa and the restaurant was right next to our hotel room. FRESH salsa! Huge portions and quick service.
Awesome Mexican restaurant , large portion, tasty and affordable. Service was good even those it was pack that date and those crispy chips and dips were the best.
Food was good, and they served large portions. Server was pleasant
